We are in the process of buying a new home which happened to be a brand new construction. I needed some suggestions about how to coordinate dining and family room furniture and what color scheme for flex room which we will turn unto formal living for guests.
I have a hard time with this too. Mostly because there are so many different things that I like…I like primitive, pop of color, vibrant, earth tones, fun, sleek… honestly I’ve learned to keep it “simple” when decorating my house I actually started by buying 1 item that I LOVED which was a throw blanket and decorating based on that which is different shades of blue, white and gold - marble looking. It worked out
Go with the style of the house, the area you live in and of course what makes you happy.
Pick one decorative item u really really love use it for inspiration and design around that……we just revamped the kitchen. I used this little wooden framed rustic pic that says home is where the family is
It depends a lot on the colors you’ve picked for your walls in each room. The furniture color picks should coordinate with wall colors.
We redid the home we just bought … grey walls … charcoal doors and a cracked pepper fireplace … upstairs is the same color scheme … cept white kitchen cabinets panels on walls are white as well and the fireplace is a white stone
As far as color scheme goes pick the furniture first and then go from there. See what goes well between the furniture, wall color, and flooring.
This is a seriously weird question. It’s your home, decorate it to your own tastes. People will tell you to use neutral colors, to use bright colors, dark colors, only one wall colored, every wall and the ceiling colored, a small table, a large table, a medieval table, a short table, no wall decorations, every wall filled with decorations, no mirrors, tons of mirrors, etc etc. Look around and just decorate how you want.
I kinda agree with what Melissa said. Pick a theme you feel fits your life. (We like rustic farm house style) and work around that. Hobby lobby is my place!!! And I would recommend sticking with lighter colors for a more open feel and you can always add in a nice of colors with your decor so don’t go into paint colors too deep bc no one really notices your wall colors anyway just what’s in the wall haha
That’s completly up 2 u…we dont know what styles & designs & colors u like
