Anyone experienced this during pregnancy?

I am currently 33 weeks with baby #2. I have went to triage twice within the past month for NST due to severe pelvic pressure & Braxton Hicks. First time I went I had no real contractions & was not effaced at all. 2 weeks ago when I went I was having “rare contractions” and was at a fingertip. I’m having these same pains again but worse the past three days , I have been wearing my belly band , taking Tylenol, warm baths, hot packs, drinking water, as well as resting and taking my muscle relaxant. Could I be having prodomal labor ? I am in a lot of pain the past three days and it has been hard to sleep, but I don’t want to go into triage again to waste time. Is there anything else I can do for pain relief or try before calling my OB?

I would call your OB. They might be able to give you more options for pain management. Plus I would go just to make everything is okay.

Round ligament pain. You feel like someone kicked you between the legs as hard as they could? Yeah. There’s no relief for that. I had it with my second pregnancy.

Go get check out. I went into preterm labor at 7 months with my boys and my daughter at 5 months. I way at 5 by time I had my boys but made it to full term but my daughter I was at a 6 made it to 36 weeks.

Does your OB or Labor and Delivery have a nurse line for you to call and speak to and see if they want you to come in and be checked?

Never ever say you don’t want to go in to waste time! Your baby is very important and that’s their job! Its better to say I went and just wasted time than regret not going! That is what this amazing nurse at my hospital always said to me!

Go to triage it could be something bad and you wouldn’t know

I had the same up to 38 weeks when I delivered…they wanted to give meds to stop contractions at around 35 weeks and I wouldn’t let them…made it to 38 no problem

You guys should click on the link and leave ur comments there. there’s a better chance of the person who asked seeing it there…

Most of the time labor and delivery will let you come at anytime of the day to get checked out. You could call them directly. They’re there all night and would prefer to check you over not. I’ve been getting nst since 30 weeks because of gestational diabetes but the woman in the room right next to me was experiencing similar pains from being dehydrated and hungry. You never know, good luck.

I was having contractions at 22 weeks and they told me in triage that their machine wasn’t picking them up so they said they were Braxton Hicks. My baby was born 26 weeks and passed away. If you feel somethings wrong keep going til they figure it out. Mama instinct knows best!!

Go to ur doctor make sure u don’t have a loose cervix I can’t remember the medical term but sometimes the baby’s weight is too much for the cervix to hold it will send u into early labor

Honestly, with baby #2 you already know the answer. Call the OB. If they say go get checked, just do it. That’s what they are there for. You aren’t inconveniencing anyone.
I was in once a week for the last 6 weeks with my 3rd and they had to stop my labor 4 times. I thought it was uncomfortable but not painful.

I had horrible groin pains when I was pregnant. To the point where I would crawl to the bathroom in the middle of the night in tears because it hurt too much to stand up. I told my Dr and he told me “get over it, it’s part of being pregnant.” My water broke 2 months early and my son was born weighing 3 lbs. You know your body. If something doesn’t feel right, it’s probably because somethings not right.

Call Labor and Delivery, they were way more helpful than my doctors office for me. I delivered almost 2 weeks ago now.

Always go get checked if you’re not feeling right. Triage would much rather you went in and there was nothing wrong than you not go in and something bad happen to you or your baby x

Experienced the extreme pressure & Braxton Hicks due to my baby being so big. Are you dehydrated? Drink more water . I learned to never be afraid to call & be checked out tho! If you don’t feel right go get checked out! Had my rainbow :rainbow: baby this March.

They’d rather you go in than not and have a problem at home.

Get checked and go see your OB.

Call your ob and go get checked. I went thru this a year ago and had the er doctor send me home, went right back in the next morning only to find out my daughters heart rate was dropping with each contraction. Had an emergency c section at 26 weeks, my placenta was detaching. I didn’t want to go back either the second day, but my MIL forced me and thank God she did or I would’ve lost my baby.

I’ve been getting bad pains too. Horrible pelvic pain worse than my first. Bad pack pain hard to walk some days. My advice take lots of rest and try some panadol

I had the same thing and the bc of pressure. Then I started spotting and he put me in the hospital. That happened twice. Go get checked out.

We all can tell you what we went through while pregnant but it is never the same person to person. When in doubt ALWAYS get checked out, better safe than sorry.

Go to the hospital, anytime your worried go! It takes a few minutes for an US, pelvic & testing! Not trying to scare you but I just lost my baby 4 weeks ago with no warning, no pain and I swear I could even feel her still move after they said a HB was gone, anything I wish my body would have told me something was wrong and to go in! So please listen to your body if your worried!

U need ultrasound done

Call ur OB they are the ones monitoring every month all these is important for delivery day

Have friend that went through this not too long ago and she ended up bleeding because she waited too long to go to the doctor. I think the hassle is better than potentially having something happen to you and your baby.

Go in just to make sure you and the baby is fine. You said it’s been worse the last 3 day, please don’t wait any longer. It won’t hurt to go check on y’all. Good luck

This happens to my daughter, for both kids the second was worst is a good thing she went back had to get c-section at month 8 baby heart rate was fluctuating is a good thing she didn’t hesitate to kept going back all the time

Some babies are lower all the time so it hurts as the move about but its painful and can cause bleeding rupture etc might need to get early c section.

Go get checked even if it’s just something not bad it never hurts to be safe I promise you that!

Call your doctor. You should not be effaced at 33 weeks. Try to buy more time for the baby.

Well not sure if i can help, but maybe some words of comfort. I had up to 50 braxton hicks a day from 16 weeks till i gave birth. Some days worse than more. They gave me Benadryl to slow down my contractions. Most of the time it helped, some days it didnt. Take a deep breath in and out, feet up and maybe get into a good bible teaching or relaxing music. You’re baby is almost here and this to shall pass. Be strong mama

Call your first nurse and see what they say. They’ll be able to let you know what you should do. I was having preterm labor at 33 weeks with baby number 4 and they had to give me meds to stop my labor. She was born at 38 weeks via emergency c-section because she got stuck in the birth canal. She will be 3 next Friday.

Call dr ASAP and you would not be wasting anyone’s time at all pray and hope all goes well and keep us updated if you don’t mind best of luck

You are never wasting time by going in!! I had silent labour with my first and my braxton hicks were contractions i walked around for a week not knowing i was dilating or in labour until my mom forced me to go get monitored. Needless to say i was sent to the city and had my baby three days later. Bed rest helps. I. On baby number three and at 35 weeks my braxton hicks turned into 5 minute apart contractions and i was 2 cm by the time i got to my birthing hospital. Bed rest settled things and im now exactly 37 weeks with days where i get contractions and pressure… monitor fetal movement and never feel bad for going in!!! Your baby and you are number 1!!

Sounds like Ligament pains

Call your doctor please

I’ve had both my babies early! one at 37 weeks and the other at 32 weeks… GO SEE YOUR OBGYN, BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY!!

Am 34weeks 2days felt those strong Braxton Hicks contractions when I was 33weeks couldn’t sleep or walk straight :pensive:had to go for scan to see if everything is fine only to find baby has changed position he was in a transverse lie(horizontal) hence the pain. I was told to be taking walks for baby to change position as soon as possible and it worked though my baby is still in breech position

I just had this happen to me with my second as well. She was born at 32 weeks. Make them take you seriously. I first had this happen at 24 weeks by 26 weeks I was 2 cm dilated. Bed rest first round of steroids and magnesium chloride. Got released, it started happening again as soon as I was home for a day. Went to an OB appointment and mentions the contractions again. She said not to worry as long as I could talk and walk through them. Asked her to please check me and I was dilated to a 4. Was sent to the ER. Second round of steroids and magnesium. Went home in Procardia and Brethine to stop contractions. A week and a half later I Went to Er because I wasn’t feeling baby move. Blood pressure was in the toilet. Took me off of the meds. 4 days later I had another appointment and was dilated to a 6 with bulging membranes. Doctor said there was nothing they could do. I’d had all of the steroids, and magnesium they were able to do and putting me in the hospital would put me under more stress being away from my toddler at home. Plus had no body to watch my kiddo full time while my husband worked. I was coming down the stairs two days later taking my daughter potty and my water broke. Never thought anything of it because I could still walk and talk through it all. Baby girl was born 7/28/21 weighing 3lbs 7 oz. listen to your body if your nervous go get checked. Just remember to tell them you can’t walk or talk through them.

Get on hands and knees and rock (use couch or bed if possible). If no relief after this call dr.

It sounds like the baby is dropping or positioning into the birthing canal or you could be dehydrated & not drinking enough water.

Go back! You’re NOT wasting anyone’s time!!!

Never ever feel you are wasting time your not it’s better to be safe

Talk about it with your OB. In a couple of weeks, the women I have known would, “walk it off”, if it’s Braxton Hicks, walking makes it go away, if it is half hearted labor, it will turn up the speed of delivery. That’s why 1. You must talk to your OB about it and 2. Wait at least 2 weeks before you start doing it.

Go in i was haveing same pains and my baby was stressed so the induced me that night your not wasting any1s time your baby is your main priority . I had my baby 11 weeks ago now and i allways think if i didnt go in she might not be here today

Walk in crying and say you are in pain you can’t cope with , I’ve done that to get listened to , make the biggest scene you can

I had simluar issues are 18 weeks. Went to ER and they verified I was having contractions. They gave me 2 bags of IV fluids and neasea medication. No bleeding or anything. And sent me on my way. They told me there not too worried because my other 3 pregnancies I never had pre term labor anything. I still have a lot of pelvic pressure and pain being almost 23 weeks. Wish I had some better answers. Good luck xx

It’s not a waste of their time, it’s their job to make sure you and baby are safe and baby makes it here safely.

Definitely go if you progressed from your 1st to 2nd visit. Especially with the pain being worse this time around its likely to be something going on.

I had two preemies, 32.6 weeks & 35.2 weeks, you know your body and you obviously feel concerned so go be checked. Also if you are presenting these same problems and progressing ask about the steroid shots to boost the lung development. Please feel free to message me if you’d like to know my personal experience with each labor to help you have an idea of what preterm labor is like.

Could be a bladder infection? Better tobe checked than think it is nothing and go into labor from the infection.

I’d go if it’s worse than the previous episodes. At least you’d probably get terbutaline and the contractions would stop. I go between preterm labor and prodromal labor without knowing so I always go in if I go to sleep and wake up and still have them. Usually for me sleep will help prodromal stop but preterm labor will continue even through sleep.

Also if you have had sex in the last 72 hours, that could be your cause for prodromal labor. Lifting (not even that much weight) or even just being active can set prodromal labor off.

I’ve had it with 3 pregnancies so far and preterm labor with 2 of the 3.

Go get checked honey better safe than sorry

I would definitely go in to be checked! It’s always better to be safe I think! Hope you feel better soon!

I’d call just in case. There’s also contraction timing apps you can get, and if your contractions are increasing by strength and getting longer and closer together then that’s probably real labor. But I’d call either way or go

Why do people come to Facebook for medical advice. Please go to the hospital. Don’t take chances. Especially listening to someone who is a non medical professional. Don’t feel ackward or uncomfortable going. Its their job to help you and make sure you and your baby are safe. (Pretty sure its the law too) You don’t want to risk anything.

I’m going through it now. Sounds like prodromal. I went into active labor 2 weeks ago. They stopped it. Been having contractions that are changing my cervix little by little but not active labor again. I’m 32 weeks.

You are in a prolonged latency phase. Look it up. Its not such a bad thing

Similar issues and 32 weeks…bub isn’t growing at the moment so I have another check up in 3 weeks and if no change they will look at bringing her out early…

It is their job to check you over  go if worried :heart:

Id definitely go. It’s not a waste of time I thought the same thing and then ended up being rushed into the er after my weekly check up I ended with preclampsia after being told a few days earlier it was Bronx. So don’t take this risk just go.

Sounds like prodromal labour. I’ve had it with two of my 5 full term babies. It can be painful and exhausting. If ever concerned it’s becoming more like actual labour always call in or go in to be safe rather than sorry. Typically the contractions won’t be consistent for more than an hour or two and often go away for a bit if you change activities or have a bath. Pelvic pressure isn’t uncommon in the last couple months the depending on how babe is sitting. Always follow your gut instinct!

Hun when it comes to your child there’s no such thing as wasting time because these nurses that are on the baby floor rather have you come in and say everything is okay then have you stay at home and something happens because you feel like you wasting their time. I thought that too when I was pregnant with my son n I was in and out of hospital every single week sometimes twice a week and overnights because of preterm contractions and I asked if I was wasting their time n they said no. So please go in especially if you’re in that much pain because something could or couldn’t be wrong you never know hun. So just go in.

I used to work in L & D. You could go in, and get sent home; and literally 2 hours later, you could be in full blown labor! These babies do what they want, and come when they want! As much as we want to, we cannot predict when they will come into the world! Don’t feel bad about going in as much as you need to! They are there for a reason! Best of luck! Congrats on baby! :two_hearts:

Always go in. You don’t feel right. Have them check the baby, have them check you. You are not a burden, you are a mother. I didn’t feel right at 36wks and I was not taken seriously “you’re not having that baby today” my daughter was nursing by midnight. Do what you feel is right  go to a different care center if possible.

I’m legit going through the same things as you!! Except I’m almost 38w pregnant. I been in labor and delivery being monitored and contractions were showing up on the monitor. I’m also dialated to a one. Since then my stomachs constantly rock solid hard and I have crazy period like cramps in my back and stomach and hella pressure. The nurses are rude and seem mean about it too and provide no sort of comfort at all. Period. I hate it. My OB is the only person I like and trust when it comes to Input and what I should do.

Anxiety can cause this though getting a check up wouldn’t hurt

Quit taking hot baths, Tylenol and muscle relaxers. Go to the hospital

I would go again and if you get sent in just ask them like how do you know if you’re ok to stay home with pain or to go in.

Girl, get checked! Just as a precaution. It doesn’t hurt anything to get checked and even if nothings wrong, at least you got checked out so you won’t have to worry. Set yourself at ease. I especially believe you should trust your instincts about whether something is wrong or not. I questioned my instincts and ended up in going into labor at 36 weeks due to complications from severe preeclampsia. Your symptoms are common in pregnancy at that stage, but can ALSO be symptoms of several other issues. So better safe than sorry

Should have went to your OB from the beginning

I stretched over an exercise ball with the hottest possible water. It helped with the pain Bc everything loosened up faster with YDS. Put something nonslip under the ball I didnt once and I had an incident and wedged my pregnant self in the tiny shower stall.

You are not wasting their time. It’s what they’re there for x

I had " false labor" with all 3 of my babies. Now it is called Braxton-Hicks. Believe me nothing was false about the pain !! 2 were 2 weeks late. Number 3 was a month early. They were all born “face up”. 50 + years ago…a lot has changed since then, for the. better I’m sure.
