Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen. Throughout my life I’ve had a couple heart palpitations here and there. Very very rarely though. Since getting pregnant with my second, I get them all the time. Especially at night. For example if I sit down to watch tv for an hour, I’ll get one every minute or so. Sometimes this happens every day for a week, sometimes I don’t have any for months. My son is 7 months now. I feel like it’s worse with caffeine. And I do have anxiety. Has this happened to anyone else??
If you can you better get checked out.
You need to see a ardiologist and they should have you wear a holter monitor. This should help to rule out a heart issue,
I have that too. I’d definitely get it checked out. It’s pretty common, but I have to be on medication for it.
My mom just got put on a heart Monitor for her palpitations, but hers would last weeks at a time! I would suggest getting into a cardiologist! Rather be safe than safe!
I’d bring it up with your OB because I had this and it actually got to the point where I stood up and my heart rate went up to 233 bpm and they induced me at 38w3d. They said normally gestational hypertension patients get induced at 37 weeks.
I have this and I was diagnosed with PACs. Do you get shortness of breath and/or chest pain?
Always get looked at. You’d be surprised what can cause palpitations. You could be anemic
I’ve had them since my third pregnancy, and ever since, especially when my anxiety kicks in. My doc never seemed to take it seriously, not sure if its because I’m a women, overweight, 41 year old or what…seeing a new doc in a few weeks…
You need to see a cardiologist. If your insurance is HMO you’ll need a referral from your PCP. If it’s a ppo insurance you don’t need one. I can’t stress enough to go see a cardiologist. I’m doing my extern at an electrophysiology dr. So please go see one.
It’s called premature ventricular contractions. It’s an extra heart beat. I get them too. I had to cut out caffeine. I can drink stuff with low caffeine. Lack of sleep brings mine on too. That was my diagnosis when I went to the er in December and did a bunch of tests after. Their harmless. Go see your Dr to make sure it’s nothing serious. I did a 24 hour halter monitor and they found mine on their. I had them here and their with my pregnancy with my son. Stopped drinking coffee and I was fine after that.
Dont let people tell you its nothing or its normal. Could it be? Maybe. But I was told this for 19 years and when I was pregnant with my son. I found out I had a hole in my heart, needed to be put on blood thinners and baby aspirin so if I developed a blood clot it wouldnt go to the hole a cause a heart attack. I’d tell your OB and request a referral to a cardiologist
That’s how my POTS started, it got worse with each pregnancy until I couldn’t ignore it anymore.
I would go get checked by a cardiologist.
Is your heart rate high when you get the palpitations?
