Can a 6-week-old have nightmares?

Is it possible for a 6 week old to get bad dreams?

Yes! Mine had night terrors, and still does. :pensive:

Yes but gasping, or anything like that could be signs of sleep apnea.

Yes I believe this for sure… my week old baby first born was grunting and making weird noises jerking an all., I said the poor thing is been tormented over her birth, we had a rough one but it’s the only thing that she could have been remembering… :see_no_evil::joy:

depends who he or she has been around, they don’t start having bad dreams for no reason.

There is no actual evidence if babies dream at all.
I do know my month and a half old would wake up screaming every now and again.
I believe they have dreams just like the rest of us!

They dream of what they know at that age.

Yes, my Dr called them night terrors!

Probably a tummy ache at this age.

Yes! I was in a car accident during pregnancy and it caused her a lot of stress. I think she remembered the stress post birth and would wake up screaming :scream::cry: made me feel so bad even tho the accident was not my fault!

Yes theyre called night terrors. Whatever you do dont wake baby up. Just try and comfort them(belly or head rubbing helps some, or holding their finger or hand) until they wake up, then you can pick them up.

I believe about the delivery…it was tight and dark…
Then wow.

It’s most likely gas. It can be very painful for newborns. Try moving their legs in a bicycle motion. It’ll help them pass gas and relieve pressure.

Its possible but its most likely gas or colic. My daughter would scream in the middle if the night from colic and gas. After 3 months it was like night and day.
