Can I breastfeed and formula feed?

I breast fed my daughter then swapped to formula. This is my second child my daughter is 5. I’m due April/may. Has anyone breastfed and formula fed?

Girl you can do whatever you want and don’t you EVER let anyone tell you differently

Yes, my son never got full off of formula, so we always have bun half and half…

I had to do both because I couldn’t supply enough

When the kids were doing feeds every 2 hrs I alternated breast and bottle at night. My husband would do the bottle so I could get a decent chunk of sleep.

Yes when i wasn’t producing enough milk I substituted with formula. Nothing wrong with it. All that matters is baby is fed

I’m doing breast feeding all day and night with one small bottle of formula just at 5pm, our supper time as that is when she cluster feeds and we are trying to give supper to ourselves and our toddler. It gives me a sanity break :joy:

Yes you can just pump extra when your during the formula feed, I do both now with my current who’s 4 days old and I did the same with my last who literally just turned a year.

Yes you can but breast milk production is supply and demand so if you’re not nursing or pumping often you won’t have a good milk production so just keep that in mind.

Yes I did both with my son

Yes, I wasn’t producing enough; so had to do both.

I did for abit with a couple of my kids for a few months when they weren’t getting enough from just breastfeeding and when they had jaundice

I’ve supplemented breastmilk i pumped with formula - not willingly lol

It did help with the full transition tho.

Yes but you would want to establish a good milk supply by nursing first before you even introduce the formula. If you don’t nurse or pump you will lose your supply. Nursing on demand for at least a month would be best to regulate your supply. Then when you do formula make sure to pump

Breast first then bottle you got this momma
