Can I mix antibiotics in tea?

So my son is 2 years old and 5 months. He is on amoxicillin for ear infection. He wouldn’t take it plain so I gave it to him in iced tea. Is that wrong?

I put it in yogurt for my daughter when she was on it as wouldn’t take it plain

My son was the same way I put it in yogurt or in his milk. I figured out later that the pharmacy can flavor it so it tastes a little better

Yep, that works great. Just make sure it’s in an amount that he will drink entirely in a short period of time

You can but he need to drink the whole cup he cannot drink it over time.

I have seen some parents put it into a squeeze apple sauce pouch n shake it with all meds.

I squirt it into a juice box lol put the straw in and good to go

My first daughter wouldn’t take antibiotics so I mixed it in her applesauce and made sure she ate it all

I mixed my sons with juice and it worked great. I mixed them in the syringe

My son will not take it either. I mix his in yogurt. It works amazing.

I use orange juice for my daughter bc she guzzles it down so fast. Our pharmacist even used an orange flavoring in her last med for us for this exact reason

Yea can mix with drinks or yoghurt…anything really as long as the child drinks it all … children’s nurse lots of experience with this xx

Check the caffeine levels in the iced tea. He’ll be bouncing off the walls

I gave it to my kid in anything he would drink it in. Tea, Kool aid, soda. All things I used. I just made sure to give it to him in a small amount so he would drink it all.

Coffee creamer is awesome to use. It’s sweet and only takes a little to mix with it.

You can. But you need to make sure he drinks the whole cup. So maybe only give him 2oz to 4oz and with a meal for a distraction.

Probably easier in yogurt.

It won’t hurt him as long as he drinks it all to get the dose he needs.

You can but definitely make sure he drinks it all or it’s just a waste of time doing all that. I tried everything with my son when he was younger and finally I just wrapped my legs around him and held him in position and plugged his nose and squirted it in. Did I feel bad? Yes but he needed the medications so.

Look in drug store for what they call earache pain relief had to do this for my kids as they hated medication just put on cotton ball in ear over night hope this helps youworked for my kids
