When you were pregnant did you still take hot baths and stuff? I’m only 5 weeks and been taking some pretty hot baths! It’s the only thing that helps me relax and feel better, I never stay in too long and I heard the water temp instantly starts cooling down since baths are different then hot tubs!
I also did with all 3 of my kiddos. Wasn’t scalding hot but pretty hot. It says “long showers/hot tub”. I never took long showers bc I couldn’t stand that long, but I did love soaking in the tub with a good book.
Yes I did with all 5 of my kids when pregnant I love hot baths
I did with my pregnancies. However I did make sure the water wasn’t as hot as I would normally have it and I would position myself where my belly wasn’t really in the water. It’s always best to consult with your doctor if you’re unsure though
I did mainly in my third trimester. It was the only thing that helped my restless legs. I tried magnesium pills and spray, different drinks. Hot baths and stretching after were the only things that allowed me any sleep. My midwife told me I could get in the hot tub in my last trimester to just keep it about 99. Idk that my baths were any hotter than that. You just don’t want your temp to rise too high. Just like when you’re sick and pregnant.
I did with all 4 of my pregnancies. I’ve never heard you couldn’t. I actually stayed in until the water was cold, sometimes it was an hour long soak.
My doctor said it shouldn’t have helped me but I swear that’s all that helped me through prodromal labor! I took hot baths constantly with all 4 of my pregnancies.
I had 4 huge babies which gave me terrible back pain I feel like I lived in the bathtub when I was pregnant and I liked scalding hot baths
I did daily with 3 pregnancies
I did and got in hot tubs too with all 4. but I never had BP issues and would get out if I got too hot.
Sure did! And ate cold cuts and sushi and whatnot lol. Even labored and birthed in the tub!
Pregnant with baby #4– I’ve taken hot baths almost every day with each. Multiple times a day sometimes.
No I wouldn’t take the risk as temping as it could be.
I did with all 5 of my babies.
I have taken them my entire pregnancy. It’s the only thing that helped my aches and pains and I’ve never had any issues .
I did and hit showers.bith of my two sons came out fine.
Uhm I did when I was really pregnant and my son tried to claw his way out of my stomach lol just try to keep it at decent temp. I was careful after that and I bathe/shower In the temps of hell cause it makes me feel at home but ya
it’s not good to have it too hot because they over heat and your body temp plus that heat isn’t healthy for them. I took baths both pregnancy but kept belly above water.
I didnt, but hot baths make my blood pressure drop and I know thats not good for baby.
I did with all 4 of my boys. Im not a doctor or anything. But I asked and they told me the concerns are that is raises your body temperature, and that it can soften the tissues inside the vagina. So. I think it’s fine as long as it’s not boiling hot and you’re not staying in soaking for super long periods of time. But I’d definitely bring it up and discuss it with your doctor.
I’m surprised at how many people are encouraging this. Just because they did it and the pregnancy wasn’t harmed, doesn’t mean it’s worth risking everything!
I did. I just made sure my belly stuck out. Which still sucked. I like to be boiling. But i was too afraid. Really it’s your body temp you need to watch so I just kept a thermometer near by and checked if I felt “too hot”
Hot baths are not safe. It can terminate the pregnancy especially at 5 weeks.
Hot water CAN bring on labour. It IS possible, and therefore not advisable.
It’s fine. I did and I even got in a hot tub once or twice for small periods of time
Nothing at all wrong with having a hot bath it won’t do no harm at all
No because every time I did it would make me start bleeding
“Won’t do no harm” / just stop. No one can guarantee this… if you did it and were lucky nothing happened… lucky you…. But for others it will affect the baby - otherwise we wouldn’t have the scientific research available to show that having hot baths can cause risks… including reduce blood flow to the baby.
Please be careful! Most definitely, do not get in a hot tub, for any length of time!! Not good, at all!!
Ask the doctor kinda depends if you have a healthy pregnancy which I didnt
Nope and no hot tubs either, talk to your doc about the dangers
Yes I did especially with my youngest he’s my 5th and had complications a high-risk pregnancy and my hips legs everything was so sore it was the most painful pregnancy I had I had a low lying placenta and it pushed on my bladder constantly and on my hips from the start my hips were messed up with him and I still have issues but I took hot baths was the only way to relax my legs and hips enough to sleep
This early I probably wouldn’t, but I’ve also had multiple miscarriages. After 12 weeks, I say go for it! I used to enjoy cooler baths with my newborn on my chest. It was calming for us both, and the skin to skin time is good for milk production.
Hot baths are just fine. Your body will tell you If you get to hot.
Keep an eye on your blood pressure. A hot bath can make it go up
I did! I delivered 2 children by natural birth.
35 weeks, sitting in a hot bath right now.
It’s more towards the end of pregnancy that I stopped taking hot baths. The night I went into labor my back hurt so bad I got in a hot bath to relax and had her the next morning. I don’t think the hot water had anything to do with it honestly because I was already in labor and didn’t know it
You should not spike your body temperature. A warm bath is fine, but you shouldn’t take a HOT bath.
I did. My son came out with 3 arms.
Nope don’t do it. Not good for baby
Please don’t anymore . My dr told me
That sitting in hot baths for twenty minutes or more can actually cause still born babies . My mom took really hot baths and she delivered my sister full term but still born
