Does a mans age lower the chances of getting pregnant?

Does age affect your chances of TTC? I’m 21; he’s 40. Please no rude comments or feedback! And what are some good suggestions?

My dad is almost 50 and just had another one, so I don’t think so lol

Ummm no it does not! My sister is 27 and her boyfriend is 50 and they’re pregnant! Use birth control or have him or you get snipped if you don’t want kids

My husband is 12 years older than me. He had a test to check his sperm before we got pregnant with our daughter and his count was really high. He was in his mid thirties at that point

My husband is 56. We have a 3 year old. I think a healthy 40 year old male will have no issues. It took us 18 years to conceive because of my health, not his.

My personal experience it hasn’t mattered. My husband is 42 I am 35 and we just had our 3rd ours baby. He has a 21 year old from his first marriage. Then we have an 8 year old, 5 year old and 2 week old. They are all healthy and happy.

Sometimes but not always. My dad has a 3yr old and he’s 45

Men have babies when they’re in their 70s, so use birth control if you don’t want to get pregnant

No. My oldest father is 21 years older than me. Smoking, drinking and drugs will lower their sperm count tho

For men, typically no age doesn’t matter. Sperm reproduces every few days.

For women, yes it can because we are born with all the eggs we will have so as we age, so do the eggs.

My dad is in 50s and I have 2 little brothers under the age 7

My hubby was 43 when we got pregnant with are second child I don’t think age really has anything to do with it

No it doesn’t. I was 21 when I had our first together when my husband was 40. Men can have kids well into their 70’s.
Now I’m 25 & he’s 43 we just had our 3rd baby last year (we’re done having kids).
I recommend you see a Fertility Doctor. If you feel you need insight. As long as your healthy enough? Go for it. His age isn’t a issue. Now that doesn’t mean he could have a low count. That can happen at any age.

I don’t think so but he should have his sperm counted just to be sure.

He’s 12 years older than me and we were pregnant

Nope. I was 22 and my now ex husband was 39 when we got pregnant

Shiiiit my husband is 51 and I’m pregnant with our fourth.

Supposedly sperm can work until a man dies.

Yes it absolutely can. They dont fully know to what extent because science spent decades blaming women and never researching men. Finally they are doing the research and finding sperm very much ages just as eggs and age of men can affect conception.

It’s different for each man. Walmart and amazon sell spermcount tests online!

My last child was born 2019 i was 40 my husband was 49 so i would say no

I’m 25 and my husband is going to be 41 in June! We have our second “ours” baby due in July. So in my experience age does not make a difference at all!

Vasectomy, use more than 1 birth control if you don’t want to get pregnant

There are protein powders that have shown to lower speed counts as well

My father was 59 when I was born.

She does want to get pregnant! She’s asking if there’s a chance she won’t because of his age.
But I have a friend who is 20 and she’s having a baby with her husband who is now 52.

If you really want to know you both need to be seen by a doctor. He needs total count done and see if that’s problem.

I’m 23, he’s 43. In January, we welcomed our little girl into the world!!! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Men never stop producing sperm, however women are born with all of the eggs we will ever have, they run out sometime between the 40s and 50s for most women.

Nope! Our fertility dr said they can go till death haha. Vitamins.

Nope my man is 47 I’m 24 we just had our son in feb

It depends upon each individuals production/ count, etc. Many factors take place. Best to ask your doctor or a specialist on the matter.

I’m 29 and he’s 45 and we just welcome a baby boy together in February :blue_heart:

My husband is 42 and we are expecting

It could. My daughter’s husband is 47 (he had 6 boys with his first wife). They have 2 boys together ages 6 an 1 yr old. My daughter wanted to have another child after their first. His testerone levels were low so he had to get shots. If need be he should get tested for his levels.

Nope. Had our 1st at 41!

Men can still have kids into their 70’s. If you’re having issues, there might be other health issues.

My husband had kids prior to our marriage and when we were trying found out his sperm count was zero. As in no sperm whatsoever. After paternity testing and finding out one of his kids was his he had to go on fertility meds to see if he could still produce sperm. He was 45 when we found out. So yes, men’s sperm count can lower with age. Have him get a sperm count and start there.

My husband was 40 and I was 21 when I got pregnant with our first baby together. Our daughter is now 15 months. It took us 7 months to conceive.

Typically no. However something I just learned. Mens testosterone can start depleting at 40+ and that can cause sperm count to drop. It also depends on his health how well he takes care of him self. And where he started. As far as sperm count. Talking to your doctor would be best course of action

I was 28 and he was 46 when I got pregnant. I have pcos and was told I would never have kids.

No. A woman’s age does.

My partner were 41 when we conceived my baby

No hun men can father kids for years, providing everything is fine. My partner was 61 when we conceived our last baby x

Nope :joy: my husband and I are twenty years apart and he managed to knock me up twice in a row! Once on contraceptives and the other time was when we were careful.

Yes the older the less healthy sperm float around. At 40 he still has enough healthy swimmers to get you pregnant. Also think this the older the man the more chance you will have something wrong with the baby. On saying this my fiance and me got pregnant when he was 50

You both still have time left so I’d wait on your part.

Yes, but not until they’re much older. Men’s fertility doesn’t change much til 50

Have all the babies you want before you turn 30.
Girl, I’m tired!
