I feel like I have tried EVERYTHING and my hair hasn’t grown an inch since I’ve had my daughter (2 years ago). My hair grew very slow before I had her, but now it’s at a complete stand still. A lot comes out in the shower still. It breaks very easily. Ugh. It’s also decently thin. I’m pitiful! Lol!
I need growth in length or thickness! SEND HELP!!!
Diet, hormone levels, being dehydrated, crappy hair products damaging your hair… there’s a lot at play here. Personally I’d take biotin, multivitamin and fish oil. Get in with a hair stylist that truly cares about your hair health and see what they have to say.
Diet is a big part make sure you are getting plenty of nutrients. Washing less often has helped my hair so much it was so brittle and thin before now it is so much stronger and even my stylist says it’s thicker. I also only use the ALURAM line of products I take biotin and a supplement called Hair Omega. Mine has grown 6 inches in the last 5 months.
The Bo Stegall Collection. I’ve used his products only for almost 4 years. He is available for any questions his customers have which is a great bonus.
You won’t want to hear this… shave your head. I’m dead ass serious. I have a friend that got alopecia, and her hair grew back so much thicker and healthier. Same thing with an ex friend, and I’ve even done it myself when I got tension alopecia. You can get wigs if it bothers you that much, in the meantime though I’m telling you start all over.
Boil some rosemary add it to a spritzer and every shower after shampooing spray that into hair and massage scalp. Trust me it will leave your hair feels smooth, less fall out, and it enhances it’s bounce!
Hairstylist here.
Hair growth starts from a healthy scalp. So depending on the products you’re using, they could be detrimental to your growth by actually clogging the follicle. So I’d take a look at that.
Then of course, diet, and add collagen into that as well.
Feel free to message me with questions.
I had the same issue, switched some things around and boom, my hair is growing like a weed
Fish oil and iron! I had balding and alot of postnatal hair loss and my natropath advised this and the fish oil helped for.alot of things not just the hair loss
Whatever you do, don’t buy anything from an MLM.
They’re either just overpriced trash or actually harmful.
There’s those hair, skin and nail vitamins.
And folate. You were probably taking it while pregnant, you can get it pretty cheap at any store, and it promotes hair growth and nail health.
I take a supplement daily called Hair Force. I get it at my local health store. It has made a huge difference in the length of my hair, including my eyelashes.
It has helped stop my hair from falling out and some hair has regrown but I’ve noticed the biggest difference in the length of my hair and eyelashes.
If you can train your hair to not need washed more than a couple times a week and brush your natural oils through to the ends before washing it will do wonders for your hair growth and health.
If you dye your hair it breaks easily and you should just give up trying to grow it. If you don’t dye your hair then all hair grows 1/4 of an inch a month. ALL HAIR. Even yours.
Apparently it takes 7 years for your hair to go back to normal after a baby. My hair is so thin and never grew but since my youngest is now 7 and I’m off the pill it’s getting thicker and with regular trims I did myself it’s growing fast but never how it used to be
I would also get some test at the doctors just to check too.
The only cure after 3 back to back babies and breastfeeding for almost 6 straight years was a pixie cut. It’s such thicker and faster growing. I’m also embracing the grey and my hair is thanking me.
Personally, I wash my hair everyday. . I’ve tried “training” it but the oil never eased up. I “trained” it for almost 2 months . .
I wash everyday, I use Mielle Shampoo & Conditioner, I rinse my hair with RICE WATER every 4-5 days to add protein (even though my hair is oily already - this helped), I dont style with heat as often, and hair mask 2x a month.
In just 5 weeks, my hair has grown 3inches! I just had a baby 5 months ago… I was dealing with postpartum hair loss and these tricks helped.
OH! I also bought one of those cute scalp scrubbers off Amazon ($6)… you could use your fingers, but it helps massage your scalp to promote hair growth
Took me about 4 years for hair to start thickening up…with my first 3 pregnancys… but hasn’t since my last later in life pregnancy… and it’s been 12 yrs now… I am still thin…
I’d ask for blood work at the doctors
You could have a hormone or vitamin defciancy.
And then if that isn’t the case I’d suggest making your own hair masks at home
I use mango butter
Shea butter and rice bran oil. You can find recipes online
Organic raw butters are life:sparkling_heart:
BondiBoost has worked wonders for my hair! They have a rapid repair line and hair growth line that I switch on every other shampoo. 1st ingredient is aloe Vera so that’s a plus!!!
I swear by this. I cut off 12 inches in September 2020 & 10 of those inches have already grown back … I also colour my hair regularly, and use blow dryer/hot iron/curling wand on it 3-4 times a week.
Have ur thyroid checked. I’ve had an over active thyroid for 4 years now n I can tell when it’s really bad from the feel of my hair. N mine will also get thin when my thyroid is in overdrive.
Nioxin is a medicated shampoo for hair loss. Only thing I ever heard of that actually works when I was doing hair. Also very important to maintain the health of your hair, if your hair is splitting an inch before the ends it will break of there and even if your hair grows an inch it will just be right back to where it was making it seem like there’s no new growth. Sometimes I recommend, for my thin hair people who want a thicker texture, a demi permanent hair dye. There are some on the market that are healthy for your hair, they’re a deposit only type of color, very temporary, but my thought process is, hopefully some of that pigment gets into the cuticle and makes your hair thicker
Make sure your vitamins and hormones are all in check…girl I have the same issue…but after getting lab work found my vitamin d was low but other then that I was good…I started using main and tail shampoo…used it as a teen but it works great …I use tgel shampoo for dandruff and I weekly do a baking soda rinse…it strips the hair of any and all toxins and dirt from the day to day…it’s awesome…do you wear your hair up alot?? I do…I try and take it down more…I also found that flipping my hair upside down and doing circular motions with my fingers all throughout the scalp ( scalp massages) help alot…it helps with circulation and blood flow to the scalp, and hair follicles…and another thing that’s not going to sound fun but rinse your hair after any shampooing with cold water…it rinses better…avoid brushing or putting your hair up while your hair is wet . It damaged the hair and can damage the follicles…and it sucks but my hair is healthier…avoid blow dryers or flat irons or curling irons as much as possible…i use a flat iron on occasion but not as much I use to use it daily sometimes several times a day…now…I think Iv used it twice this past year…I have also added a vitamin hair skin nails to take daily and then I also have a collagen and biotin vitamin supplement I take…it’s been a huge help too…but for basic just treat your hair with some love…hair and main shampoo and maybe baking soda to get rid of anything built up esp old shampoos…or conditioners…perfumes…or whatever you are around that can stick to your hair …you will instantly feel the literal weight difference in your hair and the life of your hair after just one good washing with baking soda…but most hair growth is either hormones vitamins or damage to the hair…if your vitamins and hormones check out…just show your hair some good love…massage it and clean it really good and treat it like it’s fragile( it really is) esp when your hair is wet…so many people brush or throw their hair in a ponytail tail and heck even twisting it up in a towel is damaging…patting and taking the time to dry your hair without twisting in up in a towel and then doing it so tight you can wrap it is very rough on hair esp if it’s already struggling to hold on…but to help strengthen your hair I’d recommend adding a hair skin nails vitamin…good luck girl I struggled for awhile with this before I said enough to the amount of hair coming out every shower and then going almost 4 yrs without any I mean NO growth at all…I was always told when you loose hair it’s due to growth but nah…not here…mi was just really abusing my hair to look pretty…but my hair is so much healthier and makes me feel better then any expensive shampooer or hair style using heating devices…and also haven’t died my hair in 2 yrs…I’m waiting until I’m really sure my hair can handle it…and will go the best way possible when I do …I just feel so good about my hair now I don’t want to ruin my progress by dyeing it…good luck hun
I swear by Renpure Biotin and Collagen formula. I had significant bald spots and was loosing handfulls of hair a day. After A month of using this my bald spots were filled in and my hair had grown 2 inches. This has also done the same for my mom, husband, dad, and grandfather
Do you keep your hair up often? That can cause a lot if breakage so it seems that your hair isn’t growing. I always braid mine to keep it out of the way.
I’ve been fighting anemia for 3 years, done all the bs supplements and it’s not “bad enough” for a transfusion (8.6) so I haven’t had anything help/work. It sucks.
Get a small trim and Change your diet. Lots of avocados, eggs and beans. Wash your hair normally but not everyday. Make sure you use shampoos free of heavy chemicals. Done
Cutting off any dead ends will help tremendously, if you have any that is. I know it is probably the last thing you want to do but it helps me. Also make sure you take vitamins if you already don’t. There is a vitamin you can take called “Hair, Skin and Nails” by Nature’s Bounty that my ex stepmother swore by. When I was younger I would get “Mane and Tail” horse shampoo (you can get it at Walmart) and it helped with thickness. I have med thick hair but it thins out too.
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil.
Blend ingredients together well. Apply the mask onto your roots and part, massaging into your scalp. Let the mask sit for 30 to 45 minutes, then rinse with warm water
Hair, skin and nails or prenatal vitamins. Once I get off of these antibiotics, I’m going to have to start taking them again. I almost died in November from Strep, was on all kinds of antibiotics, steroid shots, among other things. Spent 18 days in the hospital and I have lost so much hair since then. They said it could have been from the shock of it all, stress or all of the meds. My hair is down to my butt and is very fine. I now have a bald spot, but I’m still on antibiotics and was told not to take vitamins with it.
Massaging your scalp daily may help as it stimulates the hair follicles which can encourage hair growth and thickness; obviously it wouldn’t work for everyone but potentially worth a try… (I work with a hairdresser and this is something she often tells customers who come into store asking for hair products specifically for hair loss / hair growth to try)
Prenatals because the biotin lol my hair grows really well normally but on prenatals with both my pregnancies my hair grew like an effin weed haha I’m pregnant again…my hair is down to my waist and I can’t wait to get my hair cut in a couple weeks because it’s just going to grow back insanely lol
Sulfate shampoo And conditioner try to use a big comb to comb hair from bottom to top. Do not put up while wet. Try not use hairspray it damages it. Wash every other or try every 3 days. Rub or massage your scalp. Trust me works. Stress and depression and medication plAys a part of hair growth or it even falling out.
