At my next Gynecologist appointment they are putting me on the depo shot, if my SO doesn’t pull out what’s the chances of pregnancy happening, has anyone gotten pregnant while on the shot? And what’d your experiences with it, I’m nervous and want some advice… please no negative comments because even if I got pregnant I would be more than happy.

Was on the depo for 4 years no protection with my so and i didnt get pregnant till 4 years after the depo
I was on depo in my late teens and had constant breakthrough bleeding. Depends on your body though
My sister had a kid while on the pill, another while on the shot and another while using the patch. I wouldnt chance it 
It was always 100% effective for me. Never got pregnant while on it

Never got pregnant on Depo! But it is known to cause weight gain!
I coildnt use the depo! I gained about 60 lbs had no sex drive and very very moody… but I have friends who have been on it for years with no problems or pregnancy scares.
I hated it I gain like 40 pounds on it didnt get pregnant but had 2 weeks of bleeding with it I got the marina so much better

the depo messed my body all up. it affects everyone differently of course, but I’ve heard more bad things than good of it. And my experience was bad, and I only had 2 shots. I’d read into it before getting it.
I got pregnant on the shot,patch and birth control so nothing is 100% fool proof.

Never got pregnant on the depo. Boyfriend was always blowing loads in me. Then again, BC isnt always 100%. Have fun😉 depo is pretty effective
Was on it for 2 1/2 years, never used protection except for the 2 weeks after the first shot. But I did have a ectopic Pregnancy after stopping so if you stop, make sure you use something else until you are regular again. .

I had a tubal pregnancy while on it. And I have some other issues years later and I feel it was the Depo shot.

I was on depo for 6 months this year and had to get off it. Bleeding was longer and cramps felt like contractions
Everyone’s body has different responses to birth control, you’re going to get a lot of mixed reviews asking around. Your best option is to wait and see how you respond to it, Depo is not effective immediately after the first injection. So you’ll still need to use other methods of birth control (condoms) until your next cycle at least. Also, it tends to linger in your system for a while if you’ve been on it for a long time then stop. It took about 6 months for my cycle to come back after I stopped Depo. I stopped having my periods completely while I was on it, but like I said, everyone responds differently.

I’ve been on Depo for 5 years now. No back up protection, and no pregnancies.
Never got pregnant on it but inhad so many other problems with it i ended up having to get my tubes tied at 23.
No period and no pregnancy
I had one shot in januRy. Been bleeding everyday since. Literally, heavy period. Every.day.
And gained 20lbs
My mom got pregnant with my brother on the shot and she went religiously to get it.
I was on the depo shot for 4 years and while I never got pregnant, the side effects were tough. I gained a lot of weight, completely lost my period, and experienced extreme mood swings. Even after stopping the shot, it took two years for my period to return. Even though it’s convenient, I decided to stay far away from it after I finally got pregnant and had my daughter. I went for the Skyla IUD after her birth and while I had some side effects, it was nothing compared to the shot.
My cousin was on it 2 years and got pregnant. Didn’t find out until she was 7 months along, she only gained 5 pounds at 7 months.
IUD is the way to go!! Absolutely loved it, had it for 3 years. Zero issues. Just do your own research and go off of what you find.
I got pregnant with my son on the shot… I switched to the shot. Got pregnant 3 weeks before they gave my second shot. When I found out I was pregnant they said I was supposed to use a backup method until after I recieved the second shot. Nobody ever told me that when I switched to it…

Depo completely stops your period/ovulation…but everyone’s body is different

I tried every type of birth control including the depo and absolutely hated it. It made me gain so much weight and mood swings so I got off it. I gotten the Nexplanon ( arm implant ) and I love it so far!

Depends on your body. Been on it for 3 years and no problems yet. What I love about it is that I haven’t bought tampons for the last 3 years lol. I have noticed that when I was a stay at home mom that I was gaining weight. Went back to work and keeping myself busy I was able to shed the weight and and keep it down. At first I was a bit hormonal but I think that’s cause I was 1st time mom lol

No form of birth control is 100%. It’s best if you use condoms, as well.
My mom and my mother in law both got pregnant with my husband and I when they were on the depo shot. I would also use condoms
I’ve been on the shot since I was 16 or so (I’m almost 24) and the only time I’ve gotten pregnant is when I didn’t get the shot… and both of my kids were conceived about a month after missed shot… other then that, I’ve never had any problems. And never used any other kind of protection
I got pregnant twice on depo! (I was on time for every shot) if you take antibiotics it WILL kill the shot for the rest of the time & can counteract the next shot also! Be VERY careful if you are one to have to take antibiotics often.
There is always a chance for pregnancy on any birth control. But in my case i was on it for two years (16-18 i wasn’t having sex with anyone so got off) met my now ex husband and it took me two years to conceive my first child. And we used nothing. But again i wasnt having sex on it so idk.

I became the biggest c*nt on the depo… it made me absolutely crazy and made me gain weight. I got the shot 3 times and the last time I got the shot I was on my period for 5 months straight. 100% do not reccomend.
I bled for 6 months straight after the first deposit shot… don’t get it
I used the depo for almost 5 years (on and off) never got pregnant on it and didn’t use other protection BUT don’t use it long term. After my second son I went to get back on it (going on 5th year) and this time my body completely rejected it. I got super sick, gained over 20 lbs in 3 weeks, and then suffered a pretty severe hormone imbalance for about 7 months. That was all last year and I’d say the last few months I’m finally starting to feel 99% normal again. I couldn’t lose the weight no matter how hard I tried it was awful.
At my ob office the sign on the wall says something around 16-18 out of 100 to get pregnant on depo I think. If I’m remembering correctly

I know so many women that have gotten pregnant while using depo. Some of them twice.
Personally when I got it for a year, it caused me incredible weight gain, mood swings, lack of drive. Just overall not for me.

I was on depo for over four years and never had any issues but I also never had a period either
I was on depo for a year then stopped it when we decided to try for a baby. It took 3 years and fertility medicine for me to get pregnant. I had the baby last month and went back on depo 2 weeks later. The only side effect I had was my period stopping.
Yes but I was a teenager and could get pregnant in spite if I wanted too because I was extremely fertile.
If you’re planning on having children in the next year I would suggest another form like the nuva ring the depo shot depletes your calcium in your bones and has been linked to infertility

The Depo shot was the worst thing I ever got. I went from 125 to 180 in about a year. No matter what I did I kept putting the weight back on while I was on it.

I had no periods and it caused serious mood swings. Your not likely to get pregnant on it either and anyone who has either stopped taking it or were late getting their next shot. Also it can hurt your fertility after you stop it could take a good while to get pregnant again. It takes forever to get out of your system.

I used depo for nearly 3 years and then switched to nexplanon because the shot made me crazy and super tired. It made me gain almost 25 lbs which thankfully i lost
I gained weight but it was effective … but … I missed one dose and got pregnant right away with my last child

I’ve been on depo for over 10 years. Side effects some weight gain and i haven’t had a period since.
I got pregnant 2 times on the depo but your body could be different bc works differently on everybody
I got 1 shot a little over a year ago never went back for another, it stopped my periods, havent got pregnant and I just now starting bleeding again.
I was on depo for 2 years. I loved the fact that I didn’t get my period. It is tied with IUD with the second best thing to getting your tubes tied. The likihood of getting pregnant is so small, you won’t have to worry about that. I did however become very depressed on it. Just a heads up it was also given to sex offenders to decrease their sex drive. I had no sex drive at all. It’s alright, but I had terrible side effects. Depression, loss of sex drive, weight gain. It effects everyone differently!
I love it for 4 years and then another 2! I even lost weight (not normal) and my moods were much better (I’m bipolar)
I went on it on 3 different occasions. The first two times I spotted the entire time I was on it. The third time I went on it I got pregnant.
I heard depo makes you gain weight

Gained crazy weight on depo, it stopped my period. I know lots of ladies that had terrible side effects and believe that is why they arent regular and can’t conceive. I would never recommend depo.

I got pregnant 2 shots in. I had horrible acne, was constantly bloated, and had horrible mood swings. Also had a migraine for the entire first cycle.
I wouldn’t go on any hormonal birth control for long term. Try Smart Women’s Choice birth control. Look it up
Do not get the depo. Too long on it makes you infertile. Also caused a miscarriage for me.
My personal experience from Depo was horrible. I only had 3 shots and I started hurting badly and gained a ton of weight so I stopped taking them. I didnt have a period the whole time I was on it and it took about 6 months for me to get my period back after taking it but I’m going on 2 weeks of bleeding from it so I would do tons of research and figure out if u would be fine with the possibility of having the side effects.

I gained 30 pounds with it and got pregnant with my second child 10 months after I started taking them and now have severe endometriosis because of it.
Had a friend that got pregnant on it bc it ran out a month early

I never got pregnant on it but i gain a lot of weight, i had no period at all and i became very depressed
I was on the depo shot for 3 years made me fat omg i gained like 40 lbs but I never got pregnant and my SO didnt do the pull out thing either and I was fine. I’m sure it just depends on the person. I have the nexplanon implant in my arm now and I love it. No weight gain so far and you can keep it up to 3 years and its like one of the most effective birth controls. Only thing is now I am growing a beard lol my hormones are crazy though. Good luck to you.
After I stopped the depo shot I had a period for over six months straight
Never got pregnant on it but I also gained a shit load of weight that I couldn’t lose at the gym… so I got off and BAM I’m 8 months pregnant.
I was on the depo shot for 4 or 5 years never got pregnant but I didn’t have periods that lasted a long time
I took it for 4 yrs. It took another year for me to get pregnant.
I hated the shot. My period went from being like clockwork to being virtually never ending. And then when off the shot it took me years to get back on track, and longer to get pregnant while actively trying.

Taken Depo for over 10 years. No pregnancy, no pull outs. Has been good for me.
I’ve been on it for 2 years…just coming off it. There is less then 0.01% chance of becoming pregnant. My SO never pulled out and I never got pregnant
