How accurate are growth scans?

how accurate are growth scans? i’m 32 weeks and baby is measuring 5lbs… head and tummy over 95 percentile… i already have a scheduled c section booked for 39 weeks (third repeat c section) just wondering if i’m going to have a massive baby and if it’s why i’ve been so uncomfortable already!

Nah. They estimated my son to be like 4 weeks ahead at my 32 week growth scan… he was scheduled c section at 39 weeks and was only 7pound exactly

Growth scans are not that accurate. They said my twins were over 6lbs by the growth scan 1 week before they were born. Baby A was only 4lbs 7ozs and Baby B was 5lbs 3ozs when they were born.

My daughter was told her 2nd son was 3 lbs at 20 weeks we thought that must be wrong. He weight was 10lb 2 oz at birth at 41 weeks.

They kept telling me my daughter would be right around 8lbs, she came out two weeks overdue and only weighed 5lbs 7oz

They are hit and miss. My 5th said was big was born 7lb 10 at 37+1 said my last was 5lb 4 she was born 5lb 12 so was near enough. So not overly accurate

All 3 of mine were accurate within a couple ounces. I had a growth scan the day before I had my son and they measured him at 6lbs 11ozs. He came out right at 24 hours later at 6lbs 12ozs

From what I’ve heard they are really hit and miss. They have been accurate for me… my first I went in for an ultrasound around 36 weeks, was told baby was around 11lbs. He came out 40+4 and was 10lbs 13 oz. My second was a scheduled c-section at 39 weeks, around 36 weeks they told me roughly 35/36 lbs, he was 10lbs. I’m currently 34 weeks and scheduled for a 3rd c-section at 38 weeks. I was told almost a month ago that she’s show roughly 5/6lbs. I had an appointment last week, and my ob mentioned again that she’s showing quite large

My daughter at 20weeks was 4.2 and she was born at 39 weeks 10.1 22 inches long
