How can I get my milk supply up?

Hello! Im from malaysia, and in my country, if we wanted to make sure our milk supply is always up… 1, young papaya. This we just make a simple chicken soup then add in the young papaya as a veg… 2. Dried longan n red dates. Just boil them up, add sugar a bit then drink them warm.

Water. Water. And more water. And waking up in the middle of the night is necessary to keep supply up

I had a preemie and was prescribed domperidone to bring up my milk supply. It works.

My daughter drinks oat milk and uses location cookies. Both seem to help.

Body armour works great. Especially if you don’t like water. Hydration is a big key to success.

I had twins. I was told to drink an Ale Beer every evening. The hops are supposed to help.

Do power pumping and supplements. I did with both my girls. Prenatal, fenugreek, milk thistle, lactation cookies, lush leche supplements…I dont remember what else lol and tons of water…

Try a breast shield to assist baby in latching on. My granddaughter was 6 weeks early she still doesn’t latch on but my daughter has been successfully breastfeeding her with the help of a breast shield

Have you tried the body armour fruit drinks… that will help your milk supply build up… I’m a CNA…

I was told drink plenty of water and eat healthy and not to stress

My son also never latched. I just cranked it up to high and let it run for a sec when it was done… telling my body the baby wants more, then it started to come like crazy.

My nana would say that a sip of beer makes the milk come down. Real talk. No women drink in my family but breast feeding is different. It’s been used by women for generations.

The more you pump the more you make. Don’t skip overnights. Milk cookies and a beer a day.

I power pumped and my supply went up quite a bit

honestly that may not be enough I had to pump every 1.5 to 2 hrs and even them still couldnt pump enough and had to supplement .power pump and add more pump sessions

Fenugreek really helped me when I went back to work and had to start pumping more.

Eat more calories, hydrate more, and pump every three hours for twenty minutes.

With my last i never pumped at night. Remember, every body is different and every pregnancy is different.

I found to drink a beer at night helped.

They say looking at a picture of your child or even holding them while pumping can help

Drink gallons and gallons of water… GALLOONS!

Oatmeal every day, lots of water, and pump longer each session

When u pump make sure u try to empty each breast as much as possible each time and yes drink plenty of water

Power pump: pump 20 mins, rest 10 continue for an hour. You can do once or twice a day, if you have time. It worked when I was pumping for my preemie who was in the NICU.

My doctor had me drink Body Armor, I went from pumping 4oz a sitting to pumping 8oz a sitting plus was able to breastfeed

My sister used to have me bake “breastfeeding cookies” I’m sure you could find a recipe online, I don’t have it anymore but she swore by them

Fenugreek helps to boost your supply of milk…even u get fenugreek tablets in pharmacy( consult a lactation before ypu talking…

Brewer’s yeast. Peanut butter, mother’s milk tea, fenugreek, prenatal vitamins, tuna.

Have you spoken to a lactation specialist? If not, that’s my recommendation.

Malt powder, oatmeal, water, a beer all help.

Look up power pumping… I did that for awhile and it helped ALOT

Chocolate malt from Culver’s always helped me

Fennel will get your milk supply up

You need to pump every 3 hours for a newborn. You cannot miss night pumps.

Drink plenty of water, use coconut oil while you pump on your nipples, under armour drinks

Go to a daycare with babies… The crying always made me run freely

Take Domperidone. Can get Rx from MD.

Pump and freeze it…
My son’s father suckled to keep it going

Eating oatmeal and other hot cereals. Hot soups and lots of fluids.

It depends on your body. I would pump at 6, 10, 2, 6 and 10, then sleep through the night🤷‍♀️ I would generally get 40 oz or so

screw it you can buy ready to use formula called One start you open the can and pour and your ready

I would get a hold of a lactation specialist

I’m exclusively pumping because my son is in the nicu. And I pump every two hours for min of 15 mins each time. I do take a break to sleep from 12am -6am and it hasn’t slowed my supply down any. I drink tons and tons and tons of water. I listen to my body when it tells me I’m hungry I eat. I try to eat as healthy as I can. I made home made lactation bites and they seem to help and I’m also still taking my prenatal vitamins.

Work on latching it.can take time…

Just leave a note for the milkman

BODY ARMOR JUICE they will have u full of milk

Oatmeal, mothers milk tea. Milky mama products

Depending on your breast pump, start out with the stronger setting, then lower it down, just like a baby normally will. Not one lactation nurse bothered to tell me this until long after I had stopped breast feeding and pumping while I had to go back to work. I found it out after my daughter was twelve. I hope this will help you.

Boobie bickies , and Motilium

When I was breastfeeding I ate lots of green leafy vegetables like spinach… Just avoid cabbage, cauliflower and brocolli sonce they can make the babies gassy

Eggs and fish also since they have Omega 3, 6, EPA and DHA which is good for the baby’s brain development and growth

I used to get WIC coupons and they had special foods on the list for breastfeeding moms

I eat tons of oatmeal and drink lots of body armors and water! I pump 9oz every 3 hours event throughout the night! I don’t always have time to cook oatmeal so once a week i make peanut butter oatmeal bites and grab them out of the fridge as i want them
Also i eat milkmakers lactation cookies once a dah

DO NOT TAKE FENUGREEK! fenugreek can lower supply. it also has many contraindications, just because something is natural does not make it safe for everyone. milk supply is about milk removal. for exclusive pumping you need to make sure you have the correct fitting flanges, use breast compressions when you pump, apply heat when pumping, pump every time your baby eats, pump at least once overnight as that is when your prolactin levels are highest, try power pumping to mimic cluster feeding. schedule an appt with an IBCLC for more detailed help and its okay to supplement formula if you cant keep up!! good luck!

Aim to pump 8-10 times daily for 30 mins each time. 30 mins is necessary to build supply. Change your membranes/valves monthly. Find a good schedule and stick to it. You can drop your middle of the night after 12 weeks if you feel you have a good schedule

Milk thistle tablets! Worked like a charm for me! You can get them at any health store!

I was told i would not be able to produce enough milk for both my kids when they was born because my breasts are too far apart. Apparently it causes you to produce less milk.

Milky Mama, LLC has AMAZING products that helped me get a higher supply! Not to mention flax seeds, oatmeal, spinach, and Water! You have to take care of yourself so you can take care of your baby! :two_hearts:

Healthy fats, oats, oats, and more oats! Coconut milk, good protein, continue prenatal vitamins.

Also make sure you’re pumping long enough. Add time to your sessions to teach your body to make more. Even if nothing it coming out. Supply and demand!

A lot of water, moringa capsule supplement 3x a day. :ok_hand:t5:

Cabbage. True story.

Look at MOBImotherhood.org. Lots of suggestions

Alot of whole milk and water

Omg so much good advice. Good luck

Drink lot’s of water. Water makes milk. Eat greens for Iron contents, may make their poo a bit hard, fruit like strawberry’s and the like will make them shit like hell… don’t eat too many . You NEED roughage in your diet, oat meal, apples, bread. What ever you eat goes into your baby. Best advice of all is … relax when you are feeding, read a book , watch T.V., lay in bed propped up with pillows. Just enjoy it, it’s natural. xx

Take finugreek pills
