How accurate are amniotic fluid test strips ? Because they said I wasn’t leaking yesterday during the test but the same thing happened again today & now I have mucus coming out that’s clear and kinda pinky. First active labor I’ve been in so I don’t know the symptoms and I’m not contracting so I’m lost. My OB said to come back when the baby isn’t moving 10xs within 1 hour or to come back if I’m contracting. Like, ok ? What now ?? Just go to the ER or something ? Also yesterday she said I’m 1cm 50 effaced.

Sounds to me like your mucus plug. I lost mine on a Friday and started active labor on Saturday. Didn’t have her until Monday morning.
Walk walk walk…if you’re close to your due date walking will get things moving along…you may be contracting but not realize it…I was set to be induced with my 3rd and when they hooked me up they said I was having contractions so they waited a bit to see if I’d progress on my own but they didn’t pick up so they gave me pitocin
Lost my mucus plug 3 weeks before I was induced. Also when I had the test done the nurses at L&D said if I had sex or put anything up my vagina within 48 hours of the test that it can give a false negative.
Here’s a question, did they use lube to check this? I only ask bc it could be lube coming out mixed with mucus happen to me when I was 26 weeks 1 cm 60 effected

Mucus plugs come out and regenerate. I’ve lost peices and im only 26 weeks and baby is showing no signs of coming-OB said sex, exercise, just pregnancy can cause it to come out in pieces. I did a amniotic strip test at 6 mon with 1st baby bc i fell on ice and started leaking or so i thought. Test was negative. It could just be discharge-at the end it can be watery and excessive. ER is great option if you’re worried.
Your mucus plug can also regenerate.

The strips do sometimes give false negatives. There are more accurate tests the hospital can order from pharmacy (called AmnioSure). But if you’re water breaks or is leaking, it is runny. Like water. feels like you’re peeing your pants lol.
You’re probably losing pieces of your mucus plug like others have mentioned. It’s kind of snotty looking and may or may not contain blood. Go to the hospital if you have any concern. I worked in L&D and I’d rather a patient come in 50 times for nothing than to not go in and have something going on

My midwife said I must’ve peed… second test strip came back positive after I’d been leaking for almost 10 hours. Baby came 4 hours after that

If you feel your loosing fluids you need to be seen. My water broke and I never did go into labor. Baby cannot be without amniotic fluid for over 24 hours.
It was never accurate for me, I had a false positive with my 1st daughter and my 2nd I tested negative when I was leaking. I don’t trust those tests at all.
Just breathe, your body is preparing.
My water broke, allllllll over the place. Huge gush. Went to the hospital, they did the test… came back saying I must have just peed myself -.- told them to redo the test because I knew I didnt pee myself lol. Came back that it was, infact, my water. Had my daughter a few hours later
