How do you get pregnant with PCOS?

Any tips on getting pregnant with infertility? Certain foods to eat or supplements to take or anything? I struggle with PCOS and extremely absent periods (almost a year between them). I am currently taking Clomid. I have been trying for a baby for 19 months. It took 4 years to conceive my first one.

Following… not sure I want another baby at this point as my husbands are 20&23 and
mine are almost 10&15 but we’ve been together almost 6 years and of course in the beginning we’d die to have one but it’s not completely off the table… just hasn’t happened… we’re also a bit older though… I just turned 38 and he’s 45.

I’ve been to a fertility clinic which helped me get pregnant with my first living baby. Ever since then I’ve had the period issues. My doctor now has me on a low hormone birth control for 3 months, it did start my period, and she said she’s done this with other PCOS patients who have had one child already and it worked :woman_shrugging:

Low carb diet and strength training Atleast 3-4 times a week. Take a fenugreek supplement daily. Got my periods to come in every 35 days and have a 7 year old as a result. Doing keto I brought my periods down to 31 days in the past three months

Studies have shown that the order we get the more “normal” our hormones becomes. So in theory “we” dealing with pcos can conceive easier later than our normal counterparts. If your only having a periodr once or twice a year your only ovulating once or twice. I was told at 15 my chances were slim to none. My periods were just like yours. I did however eventually get pregnant at 27 and again at 31. You can try to monitor your ovulations or you can just have fun practicing…I tried all the things and it wasn’t until I gave up and just enjoyed practicing that it actually happened. Good luck, I know not all pcos stories have such happy endings

I have PCOS as well. I was told that I couldn’t conceive naturally. But, when my fiance and I got together, we tried for a baby. About 4 months into our relationship, I became pregnant with our daughter. I was very careful my whole pregnancy because I had to be. My ob labeled me as high risk.

I have PCOS. My ob put me on metformin 850mg twice daily. (Metformin off label, can help with ovulation, have normal period cycle and weight lost.) That’s after going to a fertility doctor for 4 years. We got pregnant and lost it. We decided we were going to stop trying and 4 months later we found out we were pregnant. After our first baby, it took 4.5 years to have our 2nd baby. Our 3rd baby came 20 months after our 2nd.

I have PCOS and also have 3 babies. Feel free to message me!

I have PCOS. I took clomid but fell pregnant really quickly after having a Dilation and curettage

Metformin and clomid did not do anything for me. I did 3 rounds of clomid and after that did not work we switched to Letrozole and it made me ovulate the very first time i took it and I got pregnant right away.

Metformin worked for me!

Look I did clomid and got nothing. Went to fertility doc and he gave me letrozole. It’s a newer fertility drug so most doctors don’t always go to it. Ask you doctor about it

Did two rounds of letrozole and still not pregnant fertility doctor said me and the hubby is fine, now we are just at a lost :woman_shrugging::woman_shrugging:

Loosing weight was the only thing that helped me. I took metformin for years, I took clomid. I saw specialist. I was diagnosed in 2009. And it took three years to get my periods regular. I adopted my oldest then in 2016 I lost 40lbs on a supplement and got pregnant with my son. I gained so much weight with my pregnancy band after that in 2019 I had weightloss surgery and lost 150lbs and boom pregnant again. It took a total of 11 years to have my first viable pregnancy.

I have pcos, took 22 rounds of clomid, 8 letrozole, and took provera as I wouldn’t have periods. We tried for about 2.5-3 years, and nothing. All the medication took a toll on my body, so I had to quit all my fertility meds. Now, I only cycle when my dog does. Yes, it sounds crazy but legit, when she has her heat cycle is the only time I start my cycle. My husband and I are discussing adoption at this point.

Completely depends on your body and issues. I had to have promethazine to have regular periods, clomid to ovulate, prometrium and baby aspirin to stay pregnant.

I took metformin and Clomid

I have PCOS and got pregnant with my now almost 2 year old daughter within a month of going on Metformin

I have pcos, fibroids and thyroid issues. The only thing that has ever worked for me is losing weight. I have 2 healthy boys, and pregnant now. I’ve had 5 losses. Each viable pregnancy, I had just lost 15-20 lbs. no medications. Both my first and current pregnancy I was actually on birth control as well. Idk :woman_shrugging:t2:

Look into serrapeptase

I have PCOS. I was on prenatal vitamins, vitamin d, and MyoInositol (from Amazon) it’s a supplement that some doctors use in place of Metformin. Metformin made me so sick! Then I did Femara (Letrozole) 12.5mg days 3-7. I also ended up needing progesterone suppositories to sustain the pregnancy.

I have pcos an am currently pregnant with my 3rd. My previous youngest is almost 9 and this little guy wasn’t planned lol. I was put on metformin 500mg twice a day to manage I.R and i was working really hard to lose weight. I had just reached 60lbs loss when i found out i was pregnant with our little suprise. My o.b told me losing weight while on metformin makes you really fertile lol

Losing weight helped me. Intermittent fasting has helped me and others lose weight regulate my cycle and become pregnant.

Keto for diet you’ll lose weight quick and should kick start your periods, vitex and inositol so you’ll ovulate that’s what I done and after 8 years of trying I got pregnant after 5 months of doing all those things my daughter is now 2.5 years good luck

I have that also. I was put on metformin and clomid and got pregnant with twins. I also used the clear blue fertility monitor which helped so much

It took us over 7 years to get pregnant!
We tried all of the fertility meds, and was not eligible for IUI so was told our only opinion would be IVF. I had very irregular periods, high levels of testosterone, did not ovulate, only have 1 open tube, and cysts.
I had a procedure where the dr scrapped my cervix, and uterus (very painful) and I was pregnant within 2 months!
Good luck! Its definitely a hard journey but so worth it!
