How do you wash the inside of an insulated lunch box?

How the heck do you wash the inside of an insulated lunchbox? All year my daughter has kept hers relatively clean. I literally have 2 more lunches to make her for the year. Got it out of her backpack this morning to pack her lunch and found mushy banana smeared in it and starting to mold. I let her use mine instead and she came home with loose orange slices, an open yogurt and half a PB&J just tossed in it.

For my diaper bag I would spray it with dish soap then scrub it with a scrub brush then use the shower head to spray it out then sit it in the sun to dry. Then I’d take a lysol wipe and wipe it out then let it dry.

I clean with sponge and soap, then use a disinfectant wipe and let air dry.

I put mine in the washing machine

I wash it with the dish sponge and soap, rinse well, and air dry on the rack.

Washing machine or dishwasher

If it’s the hard plastic ones, soap and hot water.
If it’s the soft material ones with the liner. Wash cloth and soap or into the washer it goes.

I mean…my 2 cents would be to have her clean it out :woman_shrugging:t4: but an age wasn’t listed so this may not be an age appropriate way to address this.

Lysol wipes, dish soap and air dry may also work as well.

I spray mine with Lysol or use a Lysol wipe daily.

Then on Fridays I spray with dawn or gain and scrub and clean that way.

Then about once a month they go into the washing machine.

For the soft types, I flip them inside out and wash with soap and water. Let it dry and flip it back to normal.

I throw my sons in the washing machine and then hang to dry.

I put my daughters in the washer and let air dry

Wash it out with a cloth make sure you use soapy hot water.

Wet wipes. Disinfecting wipes.
