How long did it take you to get pregnant after having Mirena removed?

My husband and I are trying for baby #3. I’m scheduled to get my IUD (Mirena) taken this week. I’m just curious if anyone here has taken out their IUD and had a successful pregnancy? How long did it take? Were you actively trying or just having sex and see if it sticks. With both of our boys, I’ve been a neurotic sperm dictator (haha), scheduling sex, taking ovulation tests, basal body thermometer, etc. Like I went hardcore. This goes around. I just want to have fun and see how it goes, but the controlling side of me worries it won’t happen. Any insight or stories of your TTC journey would be appreciated.

I got mine taken out and it took over a year to get pregnant

I fell pregnant on the mirena :rofl:

I got mine out end of September, pregnant within the month. First positive pregnancy test was beginning of November.
Actively trying but not tracking anything as I assumed it would take a some time, I was wrong.

I got mine out in July 2019 and we waited until aug 2020 To try I was pregnant right away

Took 5 months to get pg, lost it. Then another 2 months, lost again. Then 4 months to get pg, that 1 stuck. Actively trying as far as keeping track of ovulation and taking couples vitamins, watching our weight. A little under a yr total.

When I got mine taken out, I got pregnant within a month.

Got mine out first of September and was pregnant by mid October!

It’s recommended to wait a couple months at least because the risk of miscarriage is higher from what my doc told me , would definitely try the relaxed method this time if it doesn’t happen with in 1-2 years maybe buckle down some

It took me a year. I was told that was normal. I had a miscarriage 3 months after removal though. That’s when I was told it can take up to a year for the body to regulate the hormones from the Mirena.

Got mine out in November & pregnant in June.

I had mine taken out end of feb and I was preg by May.

11 days  got mine out while I was on my period, had sex once for hubbys birthday, bam, pregnant

It took us 2 months to get pregnant. Not actively trying. We just resumed our normal sex life and it happened.

I got my first one out to ttc and it took two months. Most recent one taken out mid September due to pelvic pain stated pill same day and took religiously. Got pregnant end of oct on the pill and am currently 33 weeks.

I had mine taken out November 30th, 2020 and I’m currently 22 weeks pregnant with our second so definitely not long! We waited a month after getting it taken out at the recommendation of my OB, and we conceived early January :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

My sis in law got her out on same day and then she got pregnant on same night. Her hormones got messed up at big time

I had it removed on 2 separate occasions. The 1st time I concieved after it was taken out it was almost instantly tbh lol I had it put back in as soon as he was born and a year later I had it removed and it took 3 months to become pregnant again but we did not actively try either.

So I was very blessed to have had no trouble when trying to conceive :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I got pregnant within a month or so

I got prego on the mirena and lost baby shortly after they removed it, I did get prego about a year after that and now have a sassy 6 y/o

Everyone is different i took mine out 6 months ago and still havnt conceived🤷🏽‍♀️ im in no rush tho if it happens it happens

I took my IUD out and got pregnant 2 months after

Pls wait a few months my dr told me I was to try right away I got pregnant right away but lost the baby at 21 weeks.

It took me less than 2 months

I got pregnant with our 4th son a month after having it removed. I was scheduled to go for a pre-op to have my tubes tied the morning of. Told them to change my pre-op to a prenatal…lol!

I got my mirena removed and was pregnant within 3 months, ON the pill

I got mine out and got my period back the very next day. It took almost a year to conceive though. Which had always happened immediately prior to having the Mirena. Unfortunately I then lost two babies back to back. But then once we stopped trying I conceived again and had a healthy baby

Took my iud out after 5 years and just happened to get pregnant 9 months after without actively trying, we were just having sex with no schedules or anything. Everyone’s different.

So I had my Mirena for 7 years… I had to have it cut out of me because my cervix completely closed around it. My ob told me conceiving would be extremely hard if possible at all… I had it out in March 2019. May 2019 I found out I was pregnant

My most recent one came out March 2nd im almost 7-8 weeks pregnant (according to my last period in 8 weeks. According to the hospital that I went to on Sat said im 7w (first ob apt tomorrow) 4th baby. That was my second iud I had one in from 2011-2016 (I got pregnant in 2018 by my current. Had my second iud in after 2019 baby I only had it in for over two yrs this time around) never again. Im hoping for a full hysterectomy after this one.

Immediately. Wasn’t ready for it either.

Had a friend whose wife pulled hers and did the same.

Don’t stress over it.

I got mine taken out and got pregnant the following week.

Got mine taken out dec 26 2012 and conceived Jan 3 2013

I got mine taken out in October of 18 and got pregnant August of 19. I wasnt trying but also wasn’t necessarily doing anything to prevent it either.

I got pregnant the same month

6 days after having 3 over 12 years lol

Had it taken out on Feb 27th, was pregnant by mid-April of the same year.

Got mine out in May and got pregnant in December! I used the Flo app to track my period and have better prediction of when I was ovulating. I had a previous IUD in for 5 years then had another put in for 2 years before having it taken out. Definitely try the Flo app it worked wonders for us! We now have a lil girl due in September!

It took us almost 3 years after I got my Mirena taken out. They also had to go in with a scope to remove it because it moved too far up in my uterus.

I had Mirena and it took us almost three years to concive after having it removed. I am 6 months post partum and I have it for the 2nd time.

I had more a for about a year it caused quite a few medical issues. Pregnancy was approximately within a week of it taken out. Unfortunately due to the issues the Mirena caused the pregnancy was life threatening and non viable

I had mine in for 7 years total. Removed it and was showing positive pregnancy tests 5 weeks later. We were trying, but not daily.

I had mine in for 6.5 years, it was taken out March last year and was pregnant by May. Bubs is 15 weeks old today

I got pregnant immediately. Like In a couple weeks.

About 6 months. My friend had hers out a few weeks or so after me and we have babies 4 weeks apart

Stress can be a factor, just relax, you have two , you know you have a pretty good chance , all it does is takes the fun out of it especially for your partner. Imagine being told when and where you are having sex if the roles were reversed

Give it a month or 2 for your hormones to adjust and it should happen pretty quickly

Had mine out on the Tuesday, pregnant by the Saturday. It’s probably not that quick for everyone but it certainly was for us!x

I had mine removed in July and was pregnant by September which was a big shocker. I loosely tried to track that first 2 months after having it removed but the instant I stopped is the month it happened. Good luck !!

So ive never taken mine out to try to have a baby and im one mirena #3 but i hear youre able to get pregnant immediately. An obgyn once told me if i wanted to get pregnant immediately i should do the deed 24 hrs before getting it removed as the sperms can live inside for x amt of time and there opening the cervix just enough to remove the iud that some may be able to get i easier! Idk how true that is…my daughter is 12 and i hadnt even given that a thought personally

Took me 16months after having mine out xx

1 month of havong IUD OUT.LESSSS GOOOO

I had mine out October 2020 and was taking ovulation tests etc until Feb. March I gave up trying and left it to chance and caught that month  xx

Please stop asking Facebook talk to your doctor we don’t need to hear your personal life!

July coil out and pregnant Oct

Immediately!!! With TWINS!

I was pregnant with my daughter within two weeks and then my second I was pregnant within a week.

After my first i got the Mirena, had it for a little over 4 years and then proceeded to have two healthy pregnancies after having it removed. It took less then a month to get pregnant after it was taken out.

Took me 5 years after having it in for 5 years :expressionless:

After my first removal I got pregnant on my second cycle. After my second removal I got pregnant 4 days after removal

Took me 1 month and I’m 19 weeks and 3 days and my son is healthy. Everyone is different though. Good luck

It took me 6 months but we weren’t really “trying”, we were more like “when it happens it happens” lol and now we have twin girls that are almost 17 months :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Had mine taken out in November 2019, tried for 6 months and got pregnant in April 2020

I got pregnant with mine in.

Took mine out in August had a positive test in Sept.

I had mine taken out Feb 2014. Got pregnant July 2014. Had baby girl in April 2015.

My sister got hers taken out and then a month and a half later announced she was pregnant now I have identical twin nephews

I got pregnant while ON it

I got pregnant almost immediately after I had mine removed

I had mine taken out in may 2013 and was pregnant in December 2013

I got pregnant within 11 months

6 months exactly both times.

Took me one month and I miscarried, got pregnant again 3 months later. My son will be 12 next month

Mine came dislodged in 2016 so my husband pulled it out and ended up pregnant the following month I now have a 4yr old

I got pregnant the first time we tried after the Mirena it was 2weeks later after getting it taken out

Removed mine and was pregnant in 3 weeks.

I had a miscarriage after mine was removed. Be prepared! It hurts when it’s removed!

5 months after, actually trying the whole time

Out in Sept 2018, pregnant by Jan 2019

I would recommend having a few period cycles pass after you take it out to normalize your uterus area. Also just incase any left over lining never let go because of the birth control type and since it’s located in that area. Just to play it safe before you try to conceive.

I got pregnant within a few days. But I wouldn’t recommend that. It resulted in a miscarriage pretty early on. But I was pregnant again by the next cycle. She is 4 now🥰

Never had mirena, but i just used flo and ovia to track ovulation. Nothing else but the app and it worked the first month for us.

Had mirena for approximately 5 years and got pregnant about 3-4 months after taking it out.

7 months. It was also my third

I got pregnant that same month.

I had my Mirena taken out just to have it taken out because I didn’t like it’s side effects and a year later my boyfriend and I did the deed and now my son is here and getting ready to celebrate 7 :hugs:

I was trying for about 6-8 months when I got mine removed. I had an under lying medical condition that I didn’t know about preventing me from getting pregnant but as soon as all my hormones were regulated I got pregnant that month. So it could be much faster than that.

1 month, and not really ‘trying’.
We discussed taking out the Mirena to give my body a break as I had been on it for nearly 5 years. And we figured if we were going to have kids we should maybe see if we can. (I was 32 at the time).

had mine out in January 2019 and didn’t have a period til April, then got pregnant in May/June.

Mine fell out by itself after 12 months, 4 weeks later I had a positive pregnancy test.

Not me, but I took a friend to get hers out and she was pregnant a few months later.

I have heard from family and friends that it was quick for them. Like someone mentioned stress can be a major factor so relax and don’t turn it into a job.
