Is it normal for a 6 week old to sleep 7 hours straight through the night ? Should I be waking him up to eat???
normal. you should not wake them up
No. They wake up when they are hungry. Let them sleep
Your pediatrician is the best one to answer that. She/he knows your baby’s health history the best.
Never wake a sleeping baby.
My pediatrician said they will eat when they are hungry. If they aren’t losing weight it is okay. But if your not sure just talk to your pediatrician.
As long as he is over his birth weight and is gaining weight I wouldn’t worry to much he will wake when he is hungry enjoy the sleep at night while u can
One Dr i saw said for me to wake my daughter up. I didn’t. A nurse at the health dept said her weight was right on target for her size so let that baby sleep! She woukd wake to nurse when she got hungry
If hes already surpassed his birth weight theres no reason to wake him.
No. My doctor said as long as they are gaining weight you shouldn’t wake them to eat.
You are lucky! If baby is healthy and thriving there is no reason to wake him/her up to eat.
Unless your baby was a preemie, don’t wake him/her. They will wake up on their own when hungry. My baby slept 7-8 hours a night most nights from the time he came home. He is a very healthy 3 year old now. Enjoy the sleep!
That’s a good thing. My boys slept through the night almost instantly
Let baby sleep enjoy it get some rest
Never wake up a sleeping baby he is content he will wake when hungry
If they are hungry they will wake up
Babies wake up when they are hungry. Never wake up a sleeping baby. Lol.
Let them sleep they wake up if they are hungry
No never wake a sleeping baby to eat unless Dr. Says too for increase weight.
Talk to babies dr. But 3 out of my 4 slept that long at that age!
Nawwwww its a good thing, actually!
Heck no you are truly blessed some babies don’t sleep through the night for a long time do not wake him up he will wake up when he is hungry
I have a 7 week old and she does it too at times. She’ll wake up when she’s hungry. First time she did it at 2 weeks I was scared out of my mind😅
Let him sleep! This is most parents dream child. My oldest was like this as a baby. She woke for a bottle and to be changed and play a bit. I got spoiled with her. None of the others slept through the night.
It’s all about weight gain! If baby is gaining, baby is growing while sleeping
My oldest slept 8 to 10 only cried when he was hungry or wet. He was such a happy baby
My daughters slept threw the night for a month and a half now. She started just before she was 2 months
Yes my doctor told me I had a good baby. She would go to sleep at 7:30 and would sleep till 9 and 10. I would worry and try to wake her her but she wanted to sleep. The doctor said okay
My kids slept all night 6 to 8 hrs from birth
No No No. enjoy the rest
Mom always said feed them every 3- 4 hours for the first month to 6 weeks. Then if they’re eating good & gaining weight good let them wake you when they’re hungry during the night.
Unless there is a concern, low weight or a blood sugar issue…NEVER WAKE A SLEEPING BABY.
Let him sleep. He will wake up when he gets hungry
That’s a great thing! My babies also slept thru at 6 weeks!!
That’s great. If hes hungry he will wake up. Let that baby sleep
My daughter slept through the night from the time she was 3 or 4 weeks old! I would change her diaper if needed, but I rarely woke her up. I believe she slept that way because she was a C section baby. They don’t cry as much. If she woke while I was changing her, I’d feed her then.
Not to be waken up for food I will let u know
No when hungry he eat. Just check on him
My oldest did this as a baby from day I brought him home.i used to wake up checking on him he was fine. My youngest son opposite was waking every 2-3 hrs lol I was exhausted.
My sister told me her so was sleeping all night at 4 wks old. I spent a few nights at her house and found that SHE (and her husband) were sleeping right through his waking up and crying himself back to sleep. I woke up and fed him for her because I couldn’t get her to wake up enough to do it. She’s always been a heavy sleeper.
With my son who is turning 10 told me that I didn’t have to but my 8 month son they wanted me to wake him up not let him kids a feeding
Don’t wake him unless his weight is an issue
If they’re weight is on track do NOT wake a sleeping baby
if she is gaining weight do not wake her thank God she is sleeping.
Count your blessings your next one probably won’t!
Both of my kids did that, no don’t wake the baby, enjoy a good sleeper and get some rest
My first born was like that. Dr told me to wake him up due to dehydration. Check with your doctor
Never touch a sleeping baby, just enjoy it…!!
My first slept like that, when they are hungry they will wake up. He ain’t really good during the day and would sleep at least 6 hours at night.
Sounds like you got a lucky baby.
Sounds like a blessing
My youngest slept like that. I didn’t wake him up. He was fine
Mine slept 12 hours a night straight through 10pm-10am by 2 weeks old! (The first 2 weeks he woke up once a night around 3am to be fed.) He is now 8 years old and a total beast! He’s a born athlete and is in the 98-99th percentile for size. Never wake a sleeping baby unless there is a medical condition that requires you to feed on a set schedule. Let the baby sleep. They will let you know when they are hungry!
Do not wake the baby! Lol. He’ll wake up when he’s hungry
No. They cry when they need something. My baby slept through the night from the beginning and my next had colic. Appreciate it.
Let a sleeping baby sleep!
Yup. I had the same problem .My baby weighed 9#3 . She slep throgh the first night. My husband and I was awake all night with such fear as she didnt wake. Called Dr. Minute office opened. He said yes to wake her every 4 hours for first 2 months and 5 on. After awhile she started waking on her own. Their little bodies need nurshment.
My daughter was like that at that age. Don’t wake baby up they will wake up when hungry
He will wake to eat. Enjoy the sleep lol
My daughter’s two were like that but not until 8/9 weeks. She increased the milk during the day time so baby was getting the full quota in 24 hours. I would keep to a regular daytime routine but I would never wake a sleeping baby at night unless medically required… Enjoy the chance of good night sleep. Be ready for teething nights…all ahead. Stop worrying. Lucky mama
My eldest son was sleeping from midnight to 8am from 6 weeks in a single bed… did him no harm at all but spoiled me and didn’t prepare me for my second or third child who both more than made up for it
You all have amazing babies! My 5 week old only sleeps for an hour and a half then screams for a bottle then goes right back to sleep for an hour and a half then screams for a bottle. I’m soooooo exhausted
Elizabeth no shit! Relax while u can
Never, i repeat… NEVER wake a sleeping baby
Our girl started sleeping through the night at 5 weeks Her doctor said to just let her sleep! She was a chunky little thing and ate great throughout the day, so they weren’t concerned about her needing more at night! Good luck!
Mine did and I let them sleep but they made up for it in the daytime
dont wake up a sleeping baby they will wake up to eat if they r hungry otherwise just leave them be
My 2 boys slept they will wake up when they are hungrey but keep and eye on them also (mine were contented babies)
Mine feed at 10pm slept till 5 till nursed agian sléep till 8am
If they are gaining weight, let them sleep.
Let him sleep and enjoy! Hell6 wake when he is ready
