How much to pay a babysitter?

$150 to go out 1 day? Umm that’s a rip off

Nope $20 is reasonable honestly.

Minimum wage is $15

I would offer $50 and tell her to be effing reasonable. You will be gone 3 hours max. She is getting an extra $5.

Thats wayyyyyy to much!!!

No way. Not for a few hours.

Um… Daycare here charges 160 for both my kids for a FULL WEEK!!!
Hun, she’s definitely trying to dupe you. Please don’t fall for it

Omg! Typically sitters charge $5-$10 an hr per child.

Do you mean $150.00 no way. I agree with Haley could you trade baby sitting with a friend

Holy crap! That is way too much!

20 I’d say $40 max, that’s crazy

Do you have no family?

Ummm no way girlfriend

Hell no, that’s insane!

For a few hours to see a movie? That’s pretty steep. I would not charge my friend to watch her kids for her. And if she insisted I take money, there’s no way I would take that much!

Holy shit yeah that’s too much. For just a few hrs I would say like 25 bucks.

That sounds about right. Let me know next time you need a sitter.

$150?! That’s $50/hour. Absolutely not. They are ripping you off terribly

No way too fucking much unless you plan on coming back in 3 days other than that 40$ tops

Damn that’s crazy! Usually it’s $5 an hour per child.
$7 max!

10-12 hr. Sometimes ill do 15 per hour if its 2 kids

For a movie night? No way. I’d do 10-15/hour

Get someone in the family to babysit or good friend I think 20 is enough for two children $10 an hour for two kids $20 is just enough… I used to work at a bar and got paid $10 an hour for 240 grown people that was nasty I had to clean up after so I think $20 is enough

Yes this person is trying to rip you off. Find someone else

Are you staying overnight? If so, then i can see that. If only a few hours, THAT’S TOO MUCH!!

For how long? 150 if it’s overnight

Are you going out of town to see this movie? 50 to 75 an hour? Tell them no thanks neflix is cheaper…

Try to trade babysitting flavors w other moms.I was widowed young@played a lot of babysitting when I worked then went part time.Babysitting isn’t the cheapest but she’s ripping you off.Do you even know her. Be careful who you leave your kids with. There’s lots of whack os out there.

Are you filming it? Lol.

Absolutely fucking not.

No… maybe $40… that’s insane

That is an insane amount to charge just for a few hours. I would never pay near thay much.

If it’s a friend should be free!

Do not pay 150. That’s ridiculous

Hold crap that’s waaaaaaay too much

I know someone who paid $150 a week for childcare. That’s way too much

That’s insane! Around here a daily babysitter is only 15-30!!! I wouldn’t pay more than 50 for what you’re wanting to go do

How many hours are you going to be gone? That’s insane. I use to baby sit 3. Ranging from 7yr -6months 200/WEEK

That’s crazy. If you don’t have much income save that money for you and your kids until you find someone who will watch them for the appropriate price.

When I babysat I charged $2 hr per child. I wouldn’t pay more than $25 for a sitter if I’m just going to a movie.

Girl…find a new sitter! They are robbing you!

That’s crazy. I’m glad you asked otherwise you’d probably never get a break because you think that’s the average cost for a baby sitter. I’d do 10-15 bucks an hour depending on their experience or how satisfied you are with everything when you come home. When I was 12 I babysat a 3/4 year old for about 4-5 hours each time, and even though what I charged was fair and flexible they payed me $60 because I went above and beyond but I never EXPECTED it.

5 to 10 an hour for 1… So 10 to 15 an hour 2 kids… Thats normal!!

$150?!?!?!?
Girl, I’d do it for WAY cheaper!!
Like, grab me a 10pk of Monsters and a few Cadbury Eggs. So, $20…
Why can’t ppl just help out sometimes? Why is always about being greedy?
I can see making some money from the gig, but no, no damn way for $150.
4hrs at $7 (high end-ish) an HR, x 2 kids = $56 (guess based on time needed)
Only bc it’s 2 kids… But no, not $150.

$10 hour is a fair price.

&150? Damn, that’s too much money to pay her! Find a new sitter!

Let me just put it this way i pay $450 an entire month m-f, 8am-3pm for preschool… they better be watching your kid 24/7 for the whole weekend for $150

$20 if it’s a child $30 if an adult

These comments are killing me! They are children not heavy machinery and you are a sitter not a damn doctor!:joy: how can people even charge 10-20 hourly…? So 2 kids for 8 hours 80-160 for 1 day??? Holy shit:joy::joy: most people don’t even make that in one day of wages! Where do these numbers come from?

Wait !!What ???..One hundred and fifty dollars for one movie night…Girl you being robbed.

For an evening to watch a show? That is WAY TO MUCH!! Should be by the hour I would think.

For how long are they having them?? 150 is a lot even if it’s for the whole night

Take them with you and see how much fun you can have . Nill.

Girl no! On average people charge $10/hour

150 for a movie night? Unless they are keeping them over night and providing the food/diapers that is too much even for the most skilled super nanny.

Go to Harkins and use the in theater childcare. In AZ I pay about a third of that for one preschooler for 4-5 hours of babysitting by his older cousin.

If it’s only a couple hrs I paid $20 cause they would be ready and or in bed if like 4 hrs I pay $30 the going rate is like anywhere between $2.50-$4/ hr per child

I dont babysit often, but when I do I never know what to charge. I usually tell the parents to pay me what they think and usually it’s about 10 bucks an hour sometimes a little more when it’s multiple kids. $150 is far too much for 2-3 hours even with it being 2 kids.

I would think no more than 60 bucks for 2-3 hours if they are charging 10 bucks an hour for each kid.

Way too much, $20 is more than enough for a couple hours

I think 100 for a few hours like 5 hours that’s 20dollers an hour that’s what I’d pay

Way to much hope whoever is cleaning your house and preparing food for a month for you for that the most l would pay for 2 children would be $40 unless l came home to a clean home and kids feed and sleeping l would pay more

Girl do not pay that much. Ever. That’s outrageous. For a couple of hours like $20 to $40.

Should be 20$ for both for the 2 hours.

I would say no more that 30$ it’s plenty I would do your ironing as well for that.

Way too much I’d say 50

Way to much… I would say depending on time you’re gone. If your toddler is already sleeping and depending what the sitter is expected to do with your baby (if baby is already sleeping or not) I would say for 2-4 hours $50 is plenty enough

I pay my sitter $10 an hour for my two children. They are 5&7. If I am only out an hour or so I’ll go ahead and pay her $20-$25 just for her time. But if I’m gone for 5 hours, she gets $50.

I pay by experience and if you are cpr trained. Crp trained etc is 20 an hour. Anything else is 10 an hour maybe 15.

Just a heads up to anyone iam available to babysit most days. And enjoy the outdoors and beach. We can discuss money when its decided when I’d be watching.
