I am a bf mom, my son is 8 months old & doesn’t have teeth yet but he is starting to clamp down on my nipple. How do I get him to stop before he has teeth! He does use the Nuk learner sippy cup & a munchkin 360° cup, not sure if that could be why he’s starting to clamp down but any advice would be appreciated.
I always took away the boob and said “stop, ow” when my kids bit. Eventually they connect the dots that biting=no boob.
Sounds like he’s starting to teeth. Just tell him “no bite!” when he does that. If he continues, sit him up and tell him “it hurts when you bite and mommy can’t feed you if you do that”. He’s old enough to understand.
Make him unlatch and say “no bite” or “no biting”. Do it everytime. He’ll get the hint.
His mouth could be sore because he’s teething. Ibuprofen can help or a frozen washcloth before you nurse.
I always told him no and removed my nipple from his mouth. He seemed to get the message. You bite mama you don’t get the milk lol
Omg my 4 month old made my nipples bleed before we even got home from the hospital (part of the reason I can’t breastfeed now). But since yours is old enough to understand, telling him no and taking boob away repeatedly should help. They catch on quick to repetition.
It time for him go on a bottle break him now he little to old for breast feeding
My daughter did this. I pumped and bottle fed her for a day or two then put her back on the boob. She’d be good for a week then I’d pump again and feed her that.
stop breastfeeding, move to the bottle.
