How to incresae milk supply?

Hello I just found out I am pregnant with my second child. I’m not sure how far along yet. With my first I couldn’t make enough breast milk (hardly any). I was in a very stressful situation and I think that had alot to do with it. Any tips on what I can do during pregnancy or after to help me produce!?

Drinking a lot of water is the only thing you can do to help breast feeding at the end Believe me I try finding tips about how make to make my breastmilk supplement better during pregnancy so I can breastfeed my son when is he is here I got told to just stay hydrated that it will help after birth.

I had a really rough time with my first as well. Start pumping before you have the baby to jump start the milk process & freeze what you get. The colostrum can be bottle fed. You also produce more milk each child you have. Ginger anything really helps production. Lactation cookies etc. Let baby latch whenever they want & skin to skin.

After delivery pump pump pump…

Body armor drinks!!! :yum: strawberry banana is my favorite

They have a tea you can drink to help produce more milk they have it at Wal-Mart in the baby isle

After delivery if you are finding you milk supply low always talk to your doctor as they do have a med they can give to help increase milk supply
If you are wanting to nurse try just putting baby to breast every time they fuss st the start.
Pumping is great if wanting to use bottles but if not it can slow milk supply for nursing as our bodies adjust to demand and strength of suction.
Laleche is great

Fenugreek capsules from the health food store and I bought this stuff called mothers milk from mountainmeadowherbs.com

Nothing you can do during pregnancy, the milk production hormones dont trigger until baby is born and the placenta delivers.

Pumping before labor is not recommended as it can make you go into labor early. It will also not help you produce mature milk faster since the first four months of milk production is primarily controlled by hormones. Colostrum will be produced until the placenta detaches then about 2-4 days later your mature milk will come in. As side from being hormone regulated it’s also supply and demand so don’t introduce a pacifier until about 4 weeks postpartum to continuously stimulate yourself to produce milk. Drink tons of water.

Stay hydrated… lots of water, root vegetables, lactation cookies, lactation supplements, fenugreek, spirulina, lactation teas, ginger, oatmeal, whole grains, pumping and massaging breast.

Keep up with dairy, nuts, and daily massages of the breasts use lotion or while you’re showering. And stay hydrated

My Dr put me on fenugreek at 36 weeks due to my milk never coming in with my first. I’m hoping to see improvement

Pump and express your breast milk and drinks with a lot of electrolytes helps a lot!

I had the same problem the first time, so I made sure after delivering my 2nd to tell all the nurses NO bottles, not even water! You need all the suckling stimulation you can get to increase your milk production. I also found a La Leche league locally that was very helpful.

I used fenugreek ( made me smell like syrup :joy:). I had the same issue with my first in addition to him not wanting to latch. My milk supply was much better with my second and she had no problems latching. I didn’t need to use anything to help boost production.
