Does being depressed during pregnancy (36w) always lead to depression after the baby is born .
I’ve been just so sad lately about my weight , can’t concentrate, I get spurts of happy moments than I just sit there and be sad again all of a sudden. I’m happy instantly when my daughter (2 years old) talks to me or we play together but than when I’m just in my thoughts I get sad again and think about EVERYTHING .

I was diagnosed with antenatal depression (it’s like PPD but during pregnancy) and my doc did say that it means higher chances of PPD. But nothing is set in stone

its normal to have anxiety or depression at the end of ur pregnancy as ur hormones come to a head there is always a chance at ppd
Not necessarily, having the child gives you a flood of dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, all the good feels. I felt the same and had no problems with depression afterwards. Breastfeeding and skin to skin also helps because you release oxytocin during that bonding time as well. I hope you start feeling better soon!
I’ve been wondering the same thing.
I got super depressed during my last trimester. Im now 3mo pp and doing just fine. I was of course a little emotional still after having him for a lil while, but my depression went away completely.
Maybe get on some antidepressants after the baby is born. Don’t want to go through the post pardom depression. It sucks. I had it because my fiance cheated on me when I was 7 months along and I was alone through the whole thing.
Usually it does… I was the same way and I had postpartum depression with both of mine. It’s really hard and it isn’t talked about enough. I was so down for MONTHS and had to be put on medication for it before I started to feel like myself again.
