Hey Mommas!
So my 1 year old son has had like really bad diarrhea and wet farts, the past 4 or 5 days and a “cold” for a few months. His one teacher at daycare thinks it lactose intolerance. I breast fed until he was 10 months old then he took regular similiac advances formula and he didn’t seem to have An issue aside from the never ending cold (I personally thought it was the weather change, it’s been really hot then really cold for the past 3 months)… he started on regular milk a month ago as well, I usually water it down but last night I didn’t because the doctors want to see him gain more weight and he screamed and screamed all night. I called the doctors and left a message and am waiting on a call back still (I called as soon as I got off work at 1 because they wasn’t open when I went in)
So in the mean time what do you mommas think?

Allergy testing. Lactaid or dairy free option. My son is 7 months and lactose intolerant. He’s on prosobee
i would totally try an almond milk or lactose free in the meantime! i think cashew milk has the most fat content since that’s a concern (obviously as long as no allergies to nuts lol) but there is toddler formula as well you can try!!! i wouldn’t put the poor little man through that anymore
earths best has always done great things for us (toddler formula)… is the rest of his food intake going well? i found our girl VERY sensitive to acids like tomato even tho she LOVED them
had to stop those in a hurry! does he have a rash on his bottom from going to the bathroom? hit me up i have an awesome DIY bentonite clay cream!!
While waiting for the doctor to call you back, I would try lactose free milk and see how he feels. Could be an allergy to the milk…I have a sensitivity to dairy myself, if I have too much I feel like I have a cold and my stomach is horrible. Same with my youngest son. It’s a sensitivity. So we do lactose free milk and everyone is fine.
If weight is an issue and your concerned it might be an allergy they do have pediasure that your little man can drink if your doctor says it’s ok. Lactaid is also good, my hubby is lactose intolerant. My kids like almond milk the best though when it comes to dairy and dairy subs

You aren’t suppose to water down milk. When you do they arent getting all the calories and nutrients they need. But if this has been going on this long without your pediatrician helping you get answers you need a new doctor.

Do not water down formula or reg milk, not good for them. They need the nutrients and if you water it down they may be peeing out much needed nutrients or not drinking no it al and not getting enough nutrients , just more water

Yep sounds like it. My son is allergic to cows milk and was on regular formula till a month ago and hes a yr on 6/14. But he had your little ones symptoms
Try sweet acidophilus milk
Stop the milk and go to a non milk formula until you find out what’s going on. Don’t give any nut based milks either . I would have a full allergy testing done to be cautious, for dairy and nuts. I did the same for my child as well.
He may have allergies, thus the duration of the cold, so outdoor allergies can trigger nut allergies . Good luck
It sounds like her milk try another milk like vit D.
