Any tips on weaning a 16 month old boy. I tried many times before but it was always hard. I want to get a job but everyone has difficulty putting him to sleep with regular milk. Id like to wean him before I go and get a job. And I dont want to put him on a bottle but if I have to then I can. Anyone had a routine? Its only me and him all the time so no help with anyone else. Hes been exclusively breastfed.
Try putting some flavor into the milk like coco/chocolate, vanilla etc. And make it according to the weather.
Try toddler formula. Which is the next up formula from infant

Pump your milk,and feed him only with bottle.
Start putting it in a cup or bottle and mixing it with milk to start getting him used to the taste and day by day make it more milk and less you till it’s all milk

I found baby does best for transition when you let whoever is going to be watching baby make the switch. They make the adjustment just like when baby starts child care. I would caution against using a bottle at this age.
Start introducing the sippy cups. Hes gonna be 2 soon. Dont over load him with flavoring his drinks either. He doesnt need chocolate or anything in it. If he is breast fed still, maybe pump and get a nice new big boy cup for him. If he never had a bottle, then dont give him one. There are great learning cups out there. You need him to get use to the cup and slowly introduce whole milk or even toddler formula to him. But dont use a baby bottle…he is almost 2 yrs old. Good luck.
