Could you post for me, please? I have a question for some mamas. At the beginning of my pregnancy, my doctor said I was due June 12th. I’m apparently 35 weeks and three days, according to that due date. I went in for a growth check, and he’s measuring 11 days ahead and is in the 65%-70% percentile, weighing a whopping 7 pounds already. When I originally calculated my due date when I first found out I was pregnant (calculated by period), which said I’d be due June 3rd. I was just curious if any mamas out there measured almost two weeks ahead and when their delivery was? My doctor also measured my tummy, and my fundal height was 36. Did you deliver earlier than expected? TIA
the due date the doctor gave us was the 29th and the math we did had it at the 16th our daughter was born the 17th
My first pregnancy this happened. I almost shit my pants at 36 weeks when they said my son weighed 7.5lbs. My due date was originally 10/18. My son was born 10/3 weighing 9lbs 8oz.
im not a doctor but ever baby is going to be a different all they can do is give the best guess based on the size of the baby at the first appoiintment i was told give or take 2 weeks
I was told that my baby was enormous, measured weeks in advance of his expected date, I’d never deliver him “naturally” - he was the smallest of my first 4
Ignore them.
Growth checks can be off by a lbs or more everyone is different
I was given a due date between the 15th and 19th of February because the doctor and tech couldn’t agree. My son was born the morning of the 19th.
I did i tried telling them I was farther along than they said my son was due Sept 25 he broke my water on Sept 7 weighing 6lbs 8oz 19 3/4 inches
This happened to me. Doc said I was due 9/19 and I told them I believed they calculated 2 weeks and 4 days off and I had my baby 8/27. Same with measurements for me. They said she was measuring 2 weeks ahead but they still counted her as a premature baby but she wasn’t to me…
My due date with my first was the 8th according to the doctors, my date that I calculated was the 18th and he was born on the 19th, with my second they said the 7th, I calculated 1st and she was born on the 3rd
Yes my baby measured ahead of time. This happens. Due dates are not 100% accurate. The measurements aren’t 100% either. Baby will come when ready. My son came when I was 40 weeks. I was told he would be a small 7lbs. He came out to be 8lbs 3oz 21 1/2 inches. As long as baby’s healthy you have nothing to worry about.
2 weeks early,2 weeks late
With my youngest my due date was Sept. 18 but at the 20 week ultrasound he was measuring with a due date of sept 10. Went into labor morning of my csection sept 12.
Girl no!!! My son was a week late and my daughter was a week early to be honest I think Dr’s just a best guess they have no idea lol I would anticipate your June 3rd and call it a day… could be like my son and stay in there another whole week!!
My OB said my kiddos were gonna be 9lbs, 7lbs, 6.5lbs… My first was 8lbs. My second came about 2wks early at 5.5lbs. And my 3rd was almost 9lbs. I would not stress over it.
I measured 2 weeks ahead with both my boys. Had them both at 39 weeks both were 8lbers, even though ultrasounds had them both at over 10lbs
I measured ahead with both my girls. And if they did ultrasound and those are the measurements they are going off of those are estimates. I had an ultrasound at 11AM and they said she was 8 pounds had her 5AM the next day she was only 7 pounds. My OB and ultrasound tech said they can be off by 1- 1 ½ pounds either way. Both kids I was induced at 38 weeks.

It takes exactly 9 months for the first baby, the next ones can come anytime. Is what my grandma use to tell us!
I was measuring on the 97th centile and had him eight days late he was born weighing 9 lb 4 oz
I always measured at least 1 week ahead and thought my baby would come early but he came 5 days past my due date
My due date was September 15th 2020 with my son but he measured ahead the whole pregnancy and came August 28th 2020 weighing 7 lbs 10 oz
When I was 35 weeks I was measuring at 40. My son was 10 pounds when I gave birth and I gave birth 2 days before his due date
Yes mama with my last child the doctor due date was 15 November my prediction was 21 November but my baby came 29 October
It’s 2 weeks either side. Your considered cooked from 36 weeks . Every pregnancy is different. You might just be having a big baby x
I was measuring 5 weeks ahead in my last trimester. My baby was in the 90 percentile then as soon as she dropped I was measuring normal. My baby was born at 39 weeks and was 7 pounds and 9 ounces 18 1/2 inches long
In my first one the dictum said the 25 he was bien at 5:51 am in the 26
My second one said the 11th of January she was born in the 27th of December
Following!! With my first 2 kids I measured right on track with both of them and I am now 30 weeks 4 days pregnant with my 3rd and measuring 2 1/2 weeks ahead.
They told me I would deliver a 7 lb baby. I carried her to term and she ended up weighing 5 lb 10 oz. They’re not always right.
3 weeks early weighed 9lbs 5ozs
I was given February 8th as my due date… Water broke and c-section was done on January 18th- 3 weeks early, weighing in at almost 11 pounds!!!
I say they were a little off on calculations… I ended up with a c-section because my big boy was breach
Best of luck with labor and delivery and congratulations!
I measured big they gave me a due date of 11/20 my daughter came 11/4
My little guy measured 4 to 5 weeks ahead my entire pregnancy. My due date was April 28th but the date we came up with as March 25th. He was measuring in the 85-90th percentile in everything until the end, when I was supposedly 36 weeks he had dropped to 70th percentile. I ended up delivering via emergency c section at what they say was 37 weeks and 3 days just bc I had preeclampsia and he wasn’t keeping a stable heartbeat. He was born weighing 6lbs 5 in, although the dr had been telling me he was weighing almost 8lbs at 36 weeks and to expect an 11lb baby. He was born perfectly healthy and didn’t have to spend any time in the nicu
I always measured ahead and had her a week late she was just a big baby
My second daughter was originally due on Sep. 25th. About half way through my pregnancy, after an ultrasound, they changed my due date to Sep. 10th. She was born on the 11th, one day late, and weighed 11 LBS I would of hated to see how big she would have been had we stuck with the original due date.
I always measured ahead by about 3 weeks. Born at 39 weeks weighing 9 lbs 9 oz.
Yes I had a big baby. Also my calculations were due Aug 25 and had him the 26th dr said sept 5th. Totally normal dont be stressed about this.
Lol measuring 11 days ahead. It’s completely normal to measure a few weeks ahead or behind. I love it when docs say things like “measuring 11 days ahead”. Medicine has come so far but ultrasounds are still partially a guess. 6 days before she was born, I was told my daughter would be 4 lbs at birth if I was luck. 6 days later she was born 7 lbs 2oz. Don’t put too much into the ahead/behind thing.
They say im measuring small. They even had me get a second opinion with a high risk dr. They said everything looks great i just have small babies. I also told them that the measurements are a estimated guess and they agreed they aren’t always accurate. My due date is June 12th as well.
ur due date is an estimate. You can really be “due” 2 weeks before or after ur due date.
So ultrasounds can measure two weeks off in either direction. Fundal height measurements also vary from person to person. Meaning you could have one doctor measure you at 36 weeks, and two seconds later another doctor or midwife could measure you at 34. Estimated due dates based off of periods are just that, estimates. It can vary based off when you actually ovulated because not everyone ovulates on the standard ovulation schedule dates. The only way you can 100% know for sure is by delivering your baby. I’ve had them say I was going to have a over 9lb baby at 37 weeks. Then he was born at a whopping 7lbs 6oz at 42 weeks. So he was way smaller than what they measured him at 5 weeks prior which is impossible. I’ve also had them say I was going to have super tiny babies and then had them deliver early and they weren’t as small as they thought. My smallest was 5lbs 8oz and my biggest was 7lbs 6oz being born between 35 weeks and 42 weeks. Prenatal Measurements are just estimates.
I measured ahead most of my pregnancy with my daughter. My due date was right on track with doctors and my own calculations. My daughter was born via induction at 37 weeks weighing 6lbs9oz. I would have carried to 40 weeks at least though I’d I wasn’t induced.
Every pregnancy is different but it’s not abnormal to measure a little further along especially that close to your due date… I wouldn’t panic too much and just leave it up to your doctor because if he or she feels that the baby is too big then I’m sure they will make the executive decision to induce you at an earlier date
With my second, they had my duedate wrong. They told me my initial duedate was april 30th. Then she began measuring ahead and they moved it to april 24th. She was still ahead and came the 19th
Those things are off especially the estimated weight of baby.
Yes it’s normal babies come whenever there ready it’s always been said 2 weeks before 2weeks after
My best friend just got told shes measuring 6 weeks ahead. Which would make her due in july instead of end of august.
You always go off the first ultasound scan as all babies develop at around the same rate early on in pregnancy.
Third trimester growth scans can be out by as much as 2 weeks either way. Manual measurements can also be off especially if different providers are measuring you at every appointment.
Your body will not grow a baby too big for you to birth unless you have been diagnosed with GD or CPD.
My 3rd was a week late weighing 8lb5oz but at 35 weeks, i was told she was 7lb8oz. Babies supposedly put on half a pound per week at the end of pregnancy so she should have weighed much more by their estimates.
Yes, I always measured 2 weeks ahead, and at one point 3 weeks ahead. My baby girl was only born 5 days early and that’s only because she was a scheduled c section, not because of size. She was a very normal weight, not big at all, 7 lb 3oz.
My mom delivered my brother 9 days early they told her he was gonna be 8 lbs… he was due the 22nd of August he was born the 13th… he was 7lbs 1oz and had a 13 inch head… mom says dont trust it. Whenever the baby is born is when its born… I was due the 22nd and I was born the 24th, my moms water started leaking the 22nd… so technically I was two days late but i was 6lbs 11oz and also had a 13 inch head… sonograms arent always right.
I measured ahead with my son by like 3-4 weeks and he came 12 days late at 10lbs !
My original date based on my missed period was Nov 7 when i did ultrasound i got October 30 however i have birth on Nov 7
Measured ahead told good 8lb, he was 6lb 5oz.
Mine was measuring 100th centile. Bitn6term via Csections and only 7lb1…
A friend of mine measured 2 week ahead for 3 pregnancys and had all 3 of those babies 2 weeks early. And her 4th baby she measured 2 weeks ahead and had her at 41 weeks
My belly measured at 35wks when baby measured 27 weeks and my due date was July 10th. She was born June 27th. Baby was also over a pound less than predicted.
When i delivered my one daughter , i delivered at 39 weeks and measured at 44 weeks. She was 9lbs 8oz
They were well off with all my children’s growth scans… so I wouldn’t over think it
Due dates are estimates! Just be prepared a few weeks before!
I was almost over due by a month they said baby would be 11 or 12 pounds…not the case he weighed 8.3 pounds
They aren’t always accurate. I had my son at 37 weeks 2 days, at 32 weeks they told me he was already weighing 6lbs 4 oz…when he was born he is 6 lbs 10 oz.
My dr told my I was due Jan 21st and that she was measuring about 8lbs…I delivered Jan 12th and she was 6lbs 3 ozs. I dont believe anything they say lol
absolutely some cases babies can be off. at 33 weeks my daughter was 8lbs dr swore no more than 10lbs…daughter at 37 weeks said hi im 12lbs3oz
My baby measured 2-2 1/2 weeks early everytime he was checked. I delivered at 41 weeks after being induced. He ended up weighing 8lb 8oz
I measured almost 2 weeks ahead with my 2nd and 3rd babies the second baby came 12 days before she was due and the 3rd came 3 days before he was due… I was told by my doctor that they do not like to change the due date unless it is more than 2 weeks difference from what your original due date is… everyone is different and every pregnancy is different so you can’t really expect the same thing to happen to you that has happened to other women with the same issues the baby will come when he/she is ready I would just be prepared a few weeks early just in case your body does decide well it’s time to go
I had all my babies early and big
My son measured big. He came 3 days before his due date. He was 8 lbs 4 oz & 21.5 inches long. His daddy is 6’5 so he was just a big boy. Don’t worry yourself. Excessive fluid could also be the cause so watch ur salt intake.
If my mom had me the day they said which was the day she went into labor I wouldn’t have made it. They delayed me 18 days
My due date was the December 19 then December 14 I was induced on the 11 had her on the 12. 8lbs 5 oz I measured ahead.
I’ve always measured ahead each ultrasound and they always change the due date. But baby has never come when they said they would lol it’s just an estimate
First 2 weeks late, 2nd on Due Date. Third 1 month and 9 days early.
When this happened to me mine came out 9.15, 10.3 , 10.3 and 10.2
4 kids all measured bigger…my 1st- 3 weeks early 8lbs…my 2nd- 1 week early 9lbs…my 3rd- 3 1/2 weeks early 8 1/2 lbs…my 4th- 3 weeks early 10 lbs lol
I did with my son but not my girls. My son was a month early and ten pounds. My girls were both in the 7 to 8lb range one a week late the other a week early
Depends on if it’s your first baby
I’m due june 2nd with my 3rd and last baby. Congrats
Those measurements can be way off. They told me I was gonna have an almost 10 lb baby with my first born and he was a little less than 7 lbs.
Congratulations!!! Hope your baby is healthy and strong!!!
They kept telling me my daughter would be 8 pounds…she only weighed 6
I measured anywhere from 2-5 weeks ahead of my due date. And little stinker didn’t wanna come out. I had to get induced. Finally had her at 40 weeks 3 days. Everyone is different though!!
Ask on a pregnancy page
I was given 17th December initially but during the pregnancy it changed to the 11th December and then due to size she was induce Tuesday 4th and came by emergency c-section on the 6th December at 8.6 pounds. Dates change for many reasons but it’s normal. Every baby is different and as long as you and baby are healthy then dates don’t really matter.
I measured two weeks ahead, my baby ended up being in 91st percentile…
when dates are given u need to allow two weeks give or take as can differ person to person.
Everyone thought mine would come early as mine was higher percentile but I ended up getting induced at 39 +1 weeks… x
My first born started reg size. I had bad lung infection and needed high dose of prednisone and his growth rocketed.
I’m pretty sure they also told you it’s an estimate at best, 2 weeks before and after!!! I have had six kids, it’s done everytime!!! You are not the exception!!? You probably forgot they told you that or you only heard what you wanted to here.
I measured ahead with my oldest and my youngest.
My oldest was 4 days late, my youngest was 4 days early.
At our like 32 week my babes measured 34 weeks and I think 95%‽. She came at 35.5 weeks and 6lbs 2 oz.
Two weeks before and after be prepared…did they test you for gestational diabetes? Be prepared they might induce if he gets too big
The rule of thumb. Two weeks ahead or two weeks later.
I was measuring 2 weeks ahead but had my son passed 40 weeks via emergency c section he was 9 lbs
I measured a week ahead my last pregnancy. I had gestational diabetes so we expected him to be huge. Due to issues, I had to deliver him 3 weeks early and he was already 7.6
I measured 2 weeks ahead starting at 30 weeks and my baby went 3 days over her due date. My water broke I went to kgh but I wasn’t dilating so they sent me home and I had to be induced
I was told big baby nothing specific didn’t find it until 26 weeks theres a story behind it long story short irregular periods and working 40hrs a week ! She came out 7lbs 12 ounce 20 inches long ! Got induced but she came before the induction should have worked ! Full epidural and meds vaginal birth with episiotomy
The due date is a guess some people are two weeks before some are two weeks after I was right on time due to having to be induced due to reasons I won’t go into but they said I can be anywhere from two weeks prior to two weeks after
I was told my daughter would be close to 11 pounds at birth. She was actually 7lbs
I’m unfollowing. This isn’t pregnancy 101
My doctor was the same they jumped around on my first child’s due date at first he was going to be born in January of 2009 and then they changed it later to October of 2008 and then they changed it again and I just gave up and said he’ll be born when he’s ready which was December 26 2008
I always measured 2-3 weeks ahead on both of mine. It’s pretty common. Doesnt really mean much…all babies are so different when it comes to size. I was also told my baby was already 6.5 lbs …he came 4 weeks early at 5 lbs.2 oz. My daughter was supposed to be 9 lbs…and came 8 days late. They just come when they are ready.
Yes. Can happen. My daughter was always ahead. She was even born 2 weeks early at 8lbs Doctor said if she would have waited she would have been over 10lbs.
Dude I was 28 weeks measuring 40 weeks. My daughter was big but also lots of water in her sac. Nothing to be overly worried about.
