I just spent the past 4 hours miserable finally threw up 30 minutes ago and my stomach is ready to go again i took a pregnancy test it’s negative my boyfriend is suggesting I go to the ER but we have nobody to watch our daughter and the urgent care is closed should I go if it hurts this much or is it not considered a emergency and I should wait until morning?
I’ve worked in an er and vomiting in and of itself is not an emergency. Usually most viruses cause vomiting for no more than 48 hours. After that you may want to go in. Also if you have coffee ground looking emesis, chest pain, or shortness of breath.
Throwing up once isn’t really an emergency… multiple times for hours maybe lol.
U don’t really say what hurts but vomiting as others said isn’t really an emergency I would wait it out see if your symptoms calm down and if they don’t and progress then go bit without any clarification it’s hard to say gd luck
Where is your pain at and are you running a fever , call the ER and see what they say
When I had gallstones and one traveled to my pancreas causing pancreatitis I was in severe pain and the only thing that made it manageable was to vomit. I finally went to urgent care who gave me a nausea med when that didn’t help I was sent to er had a scan done and was moved by ambulance to a bigger hospital for emergency surgery. It is up to you ultimately but if in a lot of pain I wouldn’t risk it being something like that or an appendix bursting because both can be deadly
Doesn’t sound like an emergency.
why can’t the boyfriend watch your daughter?
Possibly a stomach virus? I have one myself at the moment
Wait until day time. Go to a well fast clinic or your Doctor. ER is only for extreme emergencies like stroke or heart attacks. Extreme accidents which could lead to death.
Sounds like a bug, with luck only a 24 hour one, take small sips of water and lay in bed
There is a stomach flu bug going around. Hang in there!
Sounds like appendix to me. Go to the ER. I vomited and was in so much pain. I went to the hospital and while there my appendix burst and I had emergency surgery.
I would just ride it out as it’s most likely a stomach bug and they can’t do much for it in the ER. Definitely can’t do anything for it in urgent care tbh. I only go to the ER for vomiting if I’m SEVERELY dehydrated and know I’ll need fluids to function. Especially now that I’m pregnant.
But typically as long as you’re able to rest, drink some type of fluids within 24 hours, no coffee grounds looking vomit, chest pain, etc I’d say it’s just a bug and it has to run its course. Hope you get feeling better soon!
Prayers for you in Jesus mighty name Amene
Um…stay home, and crawl into bed and stay there. Let your body rest, and let it do what it needs to do. Typically I throw up and then get the chills and a fever. Usually the fever breaks after the 8 or 10 hour mark. You should give it a minimum of 24 to 48 hours. If after that, you still can’t keep food or liqids down, then go in. Usually after a good 8 hours, I can drink some sprite. Then after that I’ll try straight saltine crackers. If that stays down, I move onto soup if that stays down. After that, you’ll be fine to eat anything.
I’ll never understand why anyone throws up and thinks they need to go to the doctor. Go to bed!
Stop taking advice like this over strangers on Facebook. This question shouldn’t exactly be allowed. God forbid its something serious/life threatening and you just took everyone’s advice saying it’s not an emergency and something bad happens to you. Just do what you feel is best. If you feel it’s probably a virus there is nothing they can do for you. Just stay hydrated and rest as much as possible. If you are comfortable and feel safe enough to take a bath try a warm bath as well. If you feel it is something other than a stomach virus then do what you think is best for you. Hope you feel better.
