I will come to his defense, though it’s probable he did actually purchase them (& shame on him if he did do it and lied), his friends could have easily done a prank on him. My boss and his group of buddies are always playing pranks like this on each other. I’d definitely be put off if I opened up a package like that. But I have 100% trust and faith in my husband so if he told me someone was fucking with him, I’d believe it. He has never lied to me or given me a reason to not believe him. Even when he’s made mistakes (Nothing bad, before it paints him in that sort of light haha), he has always admitted to them. Down to just simple things like, “I just didn’t feel like stopping for xyz”, he could tell little white lies and say the store didn’t have whatever I asked for, but he has never even done that.
If I couldn’t trust him though? I would definitely be on edge. That’s a sketchy situation for sure.
It sounds really fake… With the name, the fact that there’s no legitimate return address, what’s inside of it.
But the bottom line is, do you trust him or have any reason to not believe him right now? If there’s no reason not to trust him, and he legitimately seemed confused/concerned/upset about it too, then I say trust him, and maybe do some sleuthing/ask him to try to figure it out too, because that’s… Gross, and concerning. If you don’t trust him, it might be best to let him know you’re really upset by this, give him one last chance to come clean (If he is lying), and still try to figure it out, so you can get some closure.
