Yāall like coming after white folk in this group. I say as long as the dish is properly disinfected and washed thoroughly itās fine. I donāt let my dog lick me in the face. And I would not take a loan out to pay for a surgery for my dog.

Just putting this out there for people who, like me, were unaware, but potatoes are poisonous to dogs. 
Also, as long as itās washed, I donāt see the problem. <3
The dogs mouth is actually cleaner than a typical human mouth and itās going to be washed in water hot enough to kill anything, and if it goes into a dishwasher most dishwashers get hotter than what they use to sterilize surgical equipment in hospitals. I, personally, donāt see the issue, but to each their own.

I let my dog take bites of food from my forkā¦she is a lady. Gentle soul. Remember people who have dogs in their home treat them as family. You were a guest in her home. Over reacting to a situation that is normal for animal lovers. And it is definitely not a race issue, why you even had to go there says a great deal about who you are!!!

Iām white and would never let my dog or cat lick out of my dishes. If I want to give them my food, I put some in their bowl. And my animals are my babies, they are definitely part of the family.

absolutely - they lick a lot of unclean things - use a little bleach when you wash dishes if you let your animals eat out of your dishes.

I wouldnāt be happy to see that. I had a cousin by marriage that allowed the dog to lick the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I never enjoyed a meal there again.

I love animals. Dogs especially. But likeā¦he got his own bowl though. Itās a no for me man. I wouldnāt say āfreak outā but maybe thereās a talk coming where you gotta let her know this isnāt one of those things you can compromise on. Itās fairly easy to not let a dog lick out cha bowl

I prefer to just scrape whatever I give him into his bowl or onto a disposable plate. Sometimes, when he hasnāt had much of an appetite for a few days, I will mix leftovers/remnants of what I had in a bowl and give it to him. However, I donāt like to let him lick the dishes. Nor is he allowed in the kitchen.

Yes it is disgusting, also so is having a dog at the table while youāre eating, or allowing your cat to walk on your table or kitchen workbench etc. If you want to give the dog leftovers then put it in their bowl.

Miranda Hartnagel , thats an urban legend. Dogs mouths are filthy. I know because I was bitten by a dog several times and was told by the doctors that the risk for infection was high because of all the bacteria from the dogs mouth. I had to take an antibiotic that cost 250 dollars and doctor said any sign of infection to get to the hospital immediately if I didnt want to lose my leg.

Dogs mouths are cleaner than ours. They have enzymes we donāt have that kill bacteria.

I personally will not let my dog or cats lick or use my dishes. They have their own. Itās disgusting to me as well. However itās all in our minds. Once it goes in the dishwasher is really is fine. Itās just a matter of preference. No right or wrong here.

I think itās absolutely repulsive to have a dogs saliva in any of your dishes. Dogs mouths are not clean, as many people argue. If my dog licks out of one of our dishes, its either hers now or in the garbage.

I work in a pet friendly restaurant and would never use a regular dish. We have doggie dishes just for dogs. Personally gross for me.
