With all the hormones that they are putting in our foods are contributing to early puberty.

Yes it is normal. My oldest daughter’s doctor asked me if she had started at her 7 year check up. She is 9 and hasn’t started yet but we have already talked about it where her doctor said she can start anytime.

Mine started at age 10 and i was very shocked aswell

Sexual assault can also do this …
Myself I don’t know anyone younger then 12 .Both my daughter after age 13 .
I would think it Rare at this age .
If she doesn’t really start a period get her checked out .

Same happened to my grand daughter. Was a shocker, but not unusual by todays standards and with all the hormones they feed animals it carries over.

I wouldn’t put this on FB and take a chance of her seeing this embarrassing post a few years from now!!

First hand experience and lots of doctors visits…yes it is the new normal. My daughter had what they call precocious puberty. Everything but the monthly when she was 4!!! They told us she could start her period NY day at that t ime. Luckily it held off till she was 9 but the endo told me it was due to the hormones they feed the mass produced meat they sell in the grocery. Would definitely still see a doctor tho!

It’s normal. I was shocked too. She is 11 and does not have cramp pain ether. Maybe when they start early they do not have that much pain. I was ten and I had pain even after having kids. Until someone hit me from behind and the chiropractor treated me for back pain with the wires. One of the weeks I was hurting at my age and after he treated me, I have not had pay for almost nine years. I wished my family had of sent me to a chiropractor back then because my cramp pain was terrifying.

I started my period at 9 and had b cup boobs by the age of 8.

It’s not “Normal.”
It IS the New Norm … because of all the hormones put into our food supply.

Maybe some societies wouldn’t find it shocking to see “children” at the age of 7-8 having babies :woman_shrugging:

I’m not one of those people.

It’s Normal, as a Pre-teen or teenager.

Yes. My daughter started hers about the same time. I’m gonna warn it can last 3 weeks the first time when it’s a full blown start.

You need to see a doctor. Could it be her period? Yes, it definitely could. Are there other reasons for vaginal bleeding that need to be ruled out? Definitely. Sexual abuse can cause mild bleeding.

It can start that early

Really,why tell the universe…

Take her to the doctor

You need to take her to her pediatrician as starting young can be a symptom of different disorders.

I’m 57 yrs. I was 9 when I started

There are hormones in so many products now…

My sister got hers at 9

OMG… talk to a doctor… TMI for Facebook … SMH

Mine started that early! Though it never became regular monthly thing until I was a teen.

Get her checked out to be safe, but my daughter started having small periods when she was 9. She did struggle with her weight at the time though. She did start being more active, changed when she ate and lbs dropped. That period stopped and didn’t return til she was around 12.

Make an appointment with an endocrinologist for her.

I took my 9 year old to the doctor bc my daughter was having bad cramps. She said that it is completely normal to start at 8/9 especially if they have pubic hair. She said pubic hair is the 1st step. I would get her into the doctor to be sure but i wouldn’t worry

Yea take her to dr my daughter started at ten

I was 9 and in the hospital. It started after having my appendix removed lol

I started at 8 years old. It isn’t mostly common but its all about your family genes. Even if you didn’t somewhere down the line someone did… just genetics. She will menopause early too

9-12 is average starting age. However that’s just an average. Could be earlier or later. Genetics plays a role. If she is uncomfortable, not that starting a period is ever comfortable but mentally emotionally maybe reassurance from a doctor would help. Make sure everything is okay.

I was 10. A doctor’s appt IS NEEDED, since you have to ask.

My mom was 9,I was 10. My oldest daughter had just turned 12 when she got hers in October. Everyones different but completely normal. Some get it earlier than others😊

Get her in to an endocrinologist they can check hormone levels and all that and give you peace of mind.

I got mine when I was 9.

I was nine when i started my and I’m 35.

I was 10 when I started mine… but from the comments I would take her to the doctor just in case.

Got mine when I was 9

I started mine at 8. It wasn’t terribly uncommon. Alot of the hormones mixed in food now cause puberty early. Not to mention if it’s hot that’s always the time I would start spotting.

Her hormones are likely off.
Best see a hormone specialist and see.
People seem to think hormones are a menopause issue, but they’re ALWAYS working and balancing them throughout our aging process is important.
Male and female!!

I was 9…had an early change at 39

Yes I started at 8 my daughter started at 9

My mom started hers at 8. It’s normal some girls just start earlier than others.

I started at 12 several girls started in 4th grade when we were in school. I was actually one of the last in my class.

Anymore a lot of girls that age are starting their periods… i started mine at 12 but my husbands cousin who just turned 10 not that long ago started hers shortly before turning 10

I started my period at 8 years old it’s normal every child is different but if you are worried get her checked over by a doctor hope this helps xx

I started at 16, but I know of several people who’ve started at 10 and even 9.

There are some exceptions to the norm.some start early.some start late. Most start at the expected time/some dont start at all. Best to take her to see the doc in order to allay your fears.but trust me,your daughter is ok.it’s normal to start certain milestones earlier than1’s peers. There are many cases like this out there

If you’re ever unsure - go to a doctor for reassurance. It’s a little early imo but I am not a medical professional - do not know medical history - etc.

Super normal. I started mine at 9.
In no way is this a comment assuming you’re not doing so or won’t, but please PLEASE make sure to educate her. Be there with her every step of the way. When I got mine at 9, I was thrown a pad and told “Welcome to womanhood”. I was terrified. I had to figure everything out on my own. Which is scary at such a young age.

Take her to her pediatrician

I knew someone who started that early.

That’s a little young to be “normal”. I would take her to the doctor just to be sure nothing else is going on. Early cycles in girls can be signs of a couple issues- or it could be nothing. Worth a check up.
Girls are starting their cycles earlier and earlier due to so many artificial environmental changes- the biggest being food consumption. There are added hormones in everything, and it’s not healthy.

I’ve heard girls have started hitting puberty earlier than they did when we were younger; 9 is a common age now. Though when I was young I did have a friend who had her period by 9 and wore C cup bras by 10 :flushed:

I started mine at 9, honestly my first female dr visit was when I was 13. I did keep track of my cycles, because I was told in the beginning they could be all over the place when they come. (Mine came every month) I had the worse cramps and bleeding which my mom did ask my PCP about. Other wise there isn’t much you can do other than make sure she has the things she needs and how to take care of her body.

I would talk to the doctor and ask. Also take into consideration how old you were when you first got yours. That plays a part also. Just like when you hit menopause it’ll play a part in when she does as well.

My daughter started at 8 as well. My pediatrician said it’s becoming more common for early onset puberty. She has a theory as to why, but that’s irrelevant here.

I was 11 my older sister was 9. It definitely happens

Yes! My daughter started at 9 and i at 11.

One of my granddaughters started at 10. So, Yeah…you have an early Bloomer.

Every body is different, I was 15 when I got mine, my oldest was 13 and my second was 11. If it really concern you call her pediatrician :slightly_smiling_face:

8 is a very common age for girls to start there period these days , my daughter was also 8 , dont take her to the doctors she would already be embarrassed about getting them , just educate her on hygiene and leave it at that

I was 8. My daughter’s pediatrician told me to start watching her, shes 7, and that 8 is the earliest normal age.

I was 8 when I got mine

My sis was 8 when she got hers. Im a firm believer that it is much contributed by the hormones in poultry and dairy.

It’s fine. She’s not too young but if you’re wigging out to see the Dr.

There is something called precocious puberty. I would consult with the doctor in regards to this to get checked for it.

That is completely normal. I started mine when I was 15, definitely late bloomer

I was 10 when I got mine

I was 9. And with all the hormones they’re pumping into animals to rush their growth, this is even more common now

It’s not unheard of.

I started mine at 9 years old. I also had B cups as well in the 4th grade.

Dr said my daughter could be any time as well. And she is 9 in july. All the signs are there already have been for awhile. We have been prepared for months just incase it starts. Her mini backpack always has a few pads in it.
