Is there a birth control that has no hormones in it? I cannot take regular birth control because the hormones trigger my migraines. I have tried everything possible, and once again, I start having my migraine attacks… I also do NOT want an IUD because I had Mirena at one point, and I bled the entire time. Thank you!!!
I think a copper IUD is non hormonal
Literally the only thing without hormones is an IUD… there’s also condoms and spermicides…
I’ve heard of progestin only pills, but I only know of copper IUDs that are completely hormone free.
Paraguard good for 10 years non hormonal.
Cooper IUD, Condoms, diaphragm, spermicide and family planning are non- hormonal birth control options.
Lo loestrin birth control pills. Are amazing.
I know you said no IUD’s, but Paragard IUD is the only non hormonal birth control I know of. I have bad reactions to hormonal birth control so that’s why I had it. Now my tubes are removed so I no longer need birth control. Good luck hope they have other non hormonal options out there now.
Sarah Boeser i had the copper IUD since august 2019 and i just got it removed in the beginningof march 2020 because i bled from the day i got it to the day it came out and it was SO uncomfortable. they say it takes a few months for your body to get used to it but personally i don’t think it’s worth the stress it puts on your body! good luck though!
Yes but always read the side effects and reviews from other who have tried it.
I would get the pills over the iud that way you can easily quit taking them if you have any issues.
Paraguard has worked great for me, its a copper iud. The copper is what makes it effective. I’m also prone to hormone induced migraines but haven’t had any since switching to paraguard. Only side effect may be more cramping than usual but not all the time. It’s a great option to if you’re sensitive to other non hormonal birth control options
I have Nexplanon. It’s the implant you get in your arm and is good for 3 years.
Basically condoms.
I’m on a low dose pill I have no side effects. But for no hormones just condoms or the copper iud
Following. I can’t take hormonal birth control either. It gives me anxiety and chest pain
I agree with people saying Nexplanon. I had it years ago (I’m fixed now). It’s non hormonal and I didn’t have a period for 3 years. Loved it
There are many other birth control options that do not contain hormones, that are effective if used correctly, and that are affordable. Barrier methods, such as the condom, sponge, cervical cap, or diaphragm, spermicide, and the copper IUD are all hormone-free methods of birth control
I know you say no iud… But mirena is still hormonal… Copper coil is a non hormonal birth control that lasts up to 10 years
Condoms and Paragard (copper IUD).
Paragaurd is an IUD but not hormonal and I haven’t had any issues with it. I’ve had it for almost 2 years
Condoms. I can’t take hormones either.
Copper coil never had a problem with it😊
I have a blood clotting disorder, didn’t know it had it until a few months ago after developing 2 clots in my lower leg (I’m 27 y/o and had been on oral birth control for almost 10 years) due to my disorder, I was told I had to stop any kind of hormonal birth control, due to higher risk of blood clots. The only option I was given was Paragard (copper iud). Talk to your doctor and find out what non hormonal options they recommend for you.
If you don’t want something that messes with your hormones and you don’t want an IUD, you have three choices. Get a tubal ligation, your partner can get a vasectomy or you can use condoms. There are no other choices.
Put an aspirin between your knees and squeeze best thing I can tell you or just don’t have sex period !
I had this problem. Any pill I took gave me migraines. I switched to the depo shot and had no issues whatsoever. If all you have tried is pills and IUD there are other options. Sometimes the way your body receives the hormones is the cause of the migraines. You have the shot, there is the arm implant, cervical rings, and patches.
Paragard. I had it for 4 years and no issues.
Copper IUD or Condoms. It’s not without side effects though. When I asked my gyn about it she actually advised against it for me due to the fact I already suffered from bad periods.
Paraguard is non hormonal but it was the worst for me. Super heavy long periods bad cramping especially after intercourse got lodged in my uterus. It kept messing with my flow even thou i was nursing I had to have the pill for a month and a half about 8 months in while on the paraguard to control my period and also a depo shot about a year in also to try to control my periods. I removed it after 1.5 years. Hated it. But it’s non hormonal.
The thing is, you can use a copper iud like paragard and not expect the same results you got with Mirena, especially if you used Mirena after giving birth. The continuous spotting would have been a bad reaction to the hormones and whatnot, not to the IUD. This happened to me. I was bleeding for 8 weeks post partum, got my Mirena and continued to bleed for another 8 weeks. I was losing my mind. My doctor gave me estrogen to “reset my uterus” after the 16 weeks, and said I should resume normal periods, and then eventually it would stop altogether. It did. But it was my uterus and hormones not being right that kept the bleeding going. If I had put in a non hormonal iud, I would have perhaps stopped bleeding on my own after the original 8 weeks. Anyway, don’t count out the copper IUD. But I would strongly suggest you use a CONDOM AND the PULL OUT method if you really don’t want to have another baby! Nothing’s 100%, especially if you’re still ovulating and have a fluffy uterus li,ning. It works well on it’s own for most, but if you don’t want to be the exception… js.
I’ve had problems with hormones as well. My doctor prescribed me xulane (patches) and I’ve never had a problem with them. I’m completely regular and it’s not a foreign object being placed in your body. You don’t have to remember to take a pill each day.
FAM!!
fertility awareness method. No it’s not ‘rythm method’
I cant take HBC cuz health issues

Other than the copper IUD, condoms or a tubal
Mirena has hormones. It took me over a year to stop bleeding everyday with the mirena and I constantly wanted it removed but now I’m glad I stuck it out. The best thing to do would be talk to your obgyn, every woman’s body is different and will react differently to birth control

Condoms, sponge, cervical cap, diaphragm, copper IUD and natural family planning.
Honestly if you dont want hormones or and iud use condoms. That’s pretty much your only choice. I have the paragard IUD and I HATE IT!! but I cant get into my office right now to have it removed because it’s not essential. I was also on the depo shot and hated it because of the hormones. I’m done with birth control all together any of it is bad for your body. I’m just going to use condoms and after my next baby I’m getting fixed
There is no oral contraceptive without hormones. The hormones are what stop ovulation. If you don’t want condoms, then copper IUD is the best way to go.
Aspirin between your knees, copper IUD, condoms, tubal, vasectomy.
