Menstration question..sorry TMI!

Here it goes, without getting into too much details, it’s day 6 of what I think is “brown bleeding”. I’ve been off birth control and anti depressants for 3 months my cycles were normal. Last month was heavier and a lot of blood clots. Now I’m 6 days late, took pregnancy tests and all came back negative (though we are safe in that department except for one night). Now my question is, has any other moms been through this? I’m so stressed out and wondering what is going on with my body, I’ve booked an appointment with my gynaecologist but it’s next month due to what’s going on in the world. Been with my husband 4 years, happily with 2 children. I’m at a loss at what could be happening, my mind is going to weird places and I’m starting to freak out!

Not a Mom. BUT I have had similar experiences period-wise. Starting in my mid-30s, I would get brown blood leakage in between periods. Turned out fibroids were the culprit. Something to maybe ask your obgyn.

It can be stress or your body finally purging itself of all that was left not expelled because of your birth control. Gyno is a best bet.

You may have fibroids. May just be your body adjusting to you no longer taking certain meds. Are you close to menopause?

Stress sometimes does that to your body. I would definitely go see your Gynecologist

Hey love
This can happen from time to time. If you are feeling ok I wouldn’t stress it. Your body is adjusting to being off those meds. I would bring it up to your primary doctor but def not something to worry about unless you begin to have a major change such as excessive bleeding. When I got off birth control my cycles were crazy for about a year.

So brown blood is old blood…and it could possibly be implantation bleeding which can happen around the time you are suppose to have your period…

It could be hormonal changes coming off BC. It could be breakthrough bleeding. Brown blood means “old blood”. Maybe you had an anovulatory cycle. That can cause some brown bleeding and spotting. What day are you in or your cycle?

Could be menopause but if your stressing out cause you think your pregnant then your body will stop your period or make it late because of stress. it’s happened to me before. The only time my period was late because of pregnancy was when I wasnt even thinking about pregnancy and not stressed out.

Your cycle could also be off whack because of just getting off BC 3 months ago

It could be stress, depression medication, getting off birth control. Or have you had a covid shot recently? That really messed mine all up!

Gynecologist visit needed, are you old enough for Menopause

Ok, so I can relate. Been through this when I was between 20-30. It’s not a big deal. Latter in my 40s I had a DNC and tubes tied. Started to hemorrhage, got a blashsha procedure done, was the best thing , but hurt, In office.

I was in my 30s when the brown blood effected me. I think it’s somewhat normal and I wouldnt stress especially since you’re coming g off those meds. Keep that appointment though.

I’d say it’s the menopause. But best to get it che led out .I’m sure you will be fine try not to worry hunny .

Your best bet is to wait and wait a couple of weeks before doing another pregnancy test… don’t get stressed out it will only be worst

Hey
I would eliminate the potentially really bad things that could cause it to be careful
Cancer
Endometriosis
Fibroids
See your doctor because although it’s fairly normal anything involving the slightest possibility of cancer should be checked

Could be an ectopic pregnancy. I’d for sure get checked out. Could be nothing … could be something

You made have blood disorders better get check out it’s good I’d end up in hospital with ivs blood put back in me I’d lost a lot Dr wonder how I’d survive this yes please get it checked out be on the safe side

When I came off of birth control, I had my period for a month. Could just be your body adjusting. I was about to go to a doctor when it stopped. It was brown and thicker :see_no_evil:

My first thoughts were implantation bleeding or cysts maybe.

Mine have been longer…first its brown blood and then normal red.

No, don’t worry, it happens to some women ( maybe at least once to all women). Still see your doctor just to be safe, but I think you’re fine. It’s just one of those wretched things women go through from time to time

I am not a mother but have been through this! I was stupid and never went to the doctor the 3 times it happened but what I have told myself it was, was my body being confused and especially when I was under stress. I am not a dr but I hope this helps and knowing it’s not abnormal at least I’m my eyes!

I hope to hell you don’t live in TX.

I was on the depo for abit and it made me bleed and have brown discharge for 11 months straight. It will sort itself out soon enough

Sometimes with birth control you become late flowing and late can make it old and brown

Brown blood;could be old blood. It’s good;that you booked a gynecologist appointment. You can;also google what different blood colour(s)means. Birth control;is also good. Your body;has to adjust. Keep calm. I’m used;to having heavy periods(super flow)&considering a;birth control patches. I’ve used;triphasil birth control pills wich is light but i also get loads of cramps. I know;cramps are normal. To manage;period cramps there’s a few options. A microwave;wheat bag helps during winter;deep heat period patches;neurofin period pain pills also work wonderful. Lessen salt;intake;more water. Period cups;(silicone)look handy. Hormones can;also change. My tracker;app helps management with your periods.

Did you get the c 1 9 jab recently?

I am no doctor but changes in things going on in your life can mess with your cycle. Talk to your doctor. I didn’t the first couple months with issues in mine and then it took over another year plus to get a doctor to listen to me. I was post menopausal at 35

It could be numerous things. Stress is what does it to me

Brown is normally older blood, and you can be late and miss a period for many reasons…stress being a major one, hormone changes, weight changes, sleeping changes, diet change can all make you late

You didn’t say how old you are but a lot of things can cause your periods to be wonky …stress, coming off of or starting birth control, perimenopause, weight gain…weight loss, etc …I would wait until next month and if you still have any concerns with your flow make an appointment with your Gyno.

Coming off birth control can mess your periods up for a while after depending on what you was on

Brown blood is old blood. And since your 6 days late for whatever reason it would make sense that its brown. I had that problem alot when I was going through birth controls.

It’s your hormones. Your bc kept your hormones regulated & now they aren’t anymore. Can you get back on bc?

Have you recently had the COVID jab? As I had the same effect as other women I know did too it was the worst cycle I’d ever had and like you described for nearly 2wks I was fine the following month

You dont give an age but it could be so many things including menopause…heavy bleeding with clots could be the loss of a very early pregnancy…had the same thing with my first …obviously the best thing is go to the Dr but waiting a month will be stressful…maybe another phonecall is needed hoping for a cancellation. Good luck xx

Its normal. You couldve googled this or just called your doc.

Its gunna take a couple of months for your body to go back after using birth control for hormones etc to regulate. I would wait at least 6 months ish and if your still getting problems see your gp/dr x

Brown bleeding usually indicates older blood exiting… Blood clots are also normal if smaller than a quarter. Our bodies shift, cycles change , a check up is a good idea.

Perhaps a very early miscarriage?

My period was 2 months late and I just got it this week. The more I stressed about it the longer it seemed to take to come. A lot of females I know have had the same thing happening this summer. With all the health stresses and weird weather we have had I think it has messed with a lot of females.

Hi, have you recently had COVID jab. My period was 2 weeks late after both jabs.

You are coming off birth control and abut depressants which both can mess with your body. Also you stressing over it can cause a delay as well.

First of all RELAX! You got this. Give it a few more days then take another test. I went thru similar situation. Was told years ago that i couldnt have children. This situation was with my second pregnqncy. See your gynecologist when you can but in the mean time treat yourself as if you are pregnant. HUGS!
I hope it all turns out the way you want it to!

Is FB really the place for this??? There is no longer any privacy about deeply personal conditions and I find it hard to understand females who just put such personal info on here. Go see your Gyno and hash it out there.

how about instead of asking strangers on the internet who probably don’t have a medical degree, you actually go to the dr and get checked out. You don’t want it to be something serious and kick yourself because you took advice of randoms instead of a proper health professional.

The brownish fluid is basically the discharge from inside ur uterus it’s a the excess iron and normal blood that’s comes out nothing to worry about it ur body. Cleaning up inside. Have a good cup of rooibos tea as it flushers out the body. Sorry that’s a South African tea. U can have any tea u like and grape juice and lots of fresh water just keep ur head up and u will be fine . It’s very normal and you will be good in no Tym

So birth control can decrease bleeding during cycles. So it may not be that off that they feel heavier now. And blood clots typically are a sign of imbalanced hormones, again somewhat expected after birth control.
Brown blood is old blood. And you stated you were a week late. So it could be hormonal and your body held onto it longer. It could be an early/chemical pregnancy.
I will note that with my ectopic pregnancy, I didnt test positive until much much later, with my first I tested positive like 4 days after ovulation, my angel baby like week 5? And even when I started blood work for hcg with doctor it was much much lower than expected. And I had brown stringy bleeding. Just mentioning that, because if it is that, it is a medical emergency. So if you have pain near your ovaries or just feel really off it’s worth getting checked out at urgent care/ER

Depends on age to I had brown blood when I started going thru the change ijs

My periods started changing in a similar way in my late 30s. At first it was only once or twice a year. But by my mid-40s it was happening more regularly. My doc said it was not uncommon as we age. Although later I was diagnosed with adnomyosis. Don’t know if that had anything to do with it.

Definitely don’t sound pregnant, just sounds like getting adjusted to your new medication. And appointment just to be sure never hurts, so try not to stress and let the doctors run some tests

Could be start of menopause. If this is the case, do not get pregnant because your eggs are depleted and you could end up with serious medical problems with child.

Could be due to you being off your bc. Mine changed for awhile after I got off depo and suffered major cramps and heavy bleeding until it regulated a couple of months later

Talk to ur dr but it might be your body adjusting especially if you where on the depo shot ,my period like 3 times in 2 years after being off it ,they didn’t go back to normal till I had my first

Periods are all over the place…i got mine once in high school at 16 and 2 times in college cause they say women who live together menstruate together. After college got mine ever six months…but got all the symptoms when the women i worked with had theirs. When i did get it it was heavy the 1st 3 days and spotting for 2 weeks. Then months of nothing. I have an iud now and don’t bleed at all. Im healthy and have been able to get pregnant…ive never been regular or even had it more than 2 times a year…everyones body is different…weight , excerise ,stress can all have affects.

If you are really concerned and can’t wait til your doctor appointment, go to urgent care. You can be seen by a real doctor who can do an exam and pregnancy test.

So what is your ? Is it the darker bleeding it could be just cleaning up leftovers that were not thrown off when you were on pills.

Birth control can be hormone based. That can control your body functions. Even if you have been off for a while. Also it can change your cycles. I would just hold still until appointment. If you have and abdominal excessive cramping go to Er

Have you recently been vaccinated? I thought there was something really wrong with me afterwards. It seem to mess with my hormones and cycle.

It could be due to a number of things, change in diet, other medications or you might just be late.

I know its hard but try to relax until your dr appt. Unfortunately, they are the only ones who can give you true answers. Your body could be adjusting from being taken off those meds. Just relax until you can talk to a professional. Good luck

It sounds like endometriosis. There can also be irregular bleeding if you’re not ovulating normally.

Drink more water, normal after getting off birthcontrol,

I agree with previous comments.
It’s happened to previous ladies
Don’t panic, our bodies change and do what it needs to do to secret excess tissue or something else.
Stay calm :relieved::slightly_smiling_face:.
I’m saying it’s normal.

I think asking a doctor would be a better bet than asking random women on Facebook to either resolve your issue or provide their menstrual details for comparison purposes

Don’t freak out.
You did exactly right…. making the appointment.
As aforementioned, see ER if needed for symptoms .

Have you gained a lot of weight in the last few months? That will screw up your cycles in exactly that way.

Did you have a Covid shot recently ? Some woman have complained of it changing their cycle .

It take a few months to go back to “normal” . Just relax and go with your bodies natural rhythms .

Did you get the vaccine? My granddaughter’s menstrual cycle is all screwed up since she gotten the jab.

Some women go through menopause early. Your gynecologist may recommend a hysterectomy.

My guess is ur body is adjusting to the change in medication and hormones but u really need to talk to ur dr

As stated by others above it could just be your body adjusting to the hormone changes, aging and other factors. Keep record of your menstrual and any other changes once you go to your appointment I highly suggest (not a doctor here) but i do suggest you speak to your gyno and see about getting your iron and other blood levels checked. Birth control is not good to be on too long so could just be your body adjusting.

Sounds pretty normal. The brown is the colour from your uterus shedding. The clots are totally normal. Heavier I’m guessing from being off your birth control. I’m assuming you’re late just from being off your pills. Body is readjusting. I’m saying all of this because I’ve literally gone to the docs about every single one of these. All sounds normal. But if it’s painful, like different pain, not cramping. Just go see your doc.
And honestly, when I turned 38, I swear my body was like buck up, the last few years are gonna suck! Plus I have endometriosis so that’s fun too. But try not to stress, we all know it’s easier said than done. Honestly all sounds super normal. Seriously. So don’t stress!

Stop ! Take a breath ! Its ok if its brownish blood wait u til your appointment.

So you’re bleeding brown or you’re 6 days late?
