I just need to vent. I thought daycare was going to be a relief as a working mom but it’s only drained me financially and keeps me and my daughter sick every other week. Since August, we’ve dealt with RSV, covid (twice), numerous double ear infections (even with tubes), stomach bugs, and now hand foot and mouth Idk if y’all ever had hand foot and mouth but that was the most painful/uncomfortable thing I’ve ever experienced. I’m already dreading what she’s gonna bring home next. I really want her to make it through her birthday and Christmas without anything else but I know that’s asking too much
It’s not just the daycares. The schools are the same. We’ve had three or four different “sicks” here and we have seven people in the house to go through it. It doesn’t stop by the time the last kid is done the first one is bringing something else home. Usually from about November to February we miss about a month in total not including Christmas break.
Hugs.
I’m finding as we give out more different flu shots and cold shots it’s getting worse. And more frequent.
Mine are teens you can’t dress to save the whales though. Hugs.
I got impetigo when I was younger from daycare and a nasty staff infection on my legs still got scars on them that’s just how daycare is hell even school my son kindergarten has been sick 5 times already this school year it’s horrible but it happens sadly but her immune system will start building up and she will get sick less and less
Welcome to the world of daycare. I completely agree with you. Honestly my 2 kids is always ill. They both had hand foot and mouth twice also literally their nails all fell of Its was really horrible. They both had scarlet fever 2 weeks ago. It was the worst. My daughter has asthma which was very difficult for her. Even now they are still coughing.
Daycare even tho it’s sucks esp seeing our kids sick but it’s starting to build their immune system. My son is 9 now but when he was in daycare he had a cold every other week which led to bronchitis and pneumonia which he had to be in the hospital then sick again so he ended up with asthma. That don’t include the pink eye he brought home and gave me and the head lice and so on. I started to give my son vitamins to help build a stronger immune system. In my state right now there are high cases of the flu, RSV, Influenza A, and still covid. Some schools closed due to high cases of the flu with students and staff. Welcome to daycare and schooling years. Stay strong momma a lot of us have been through this also
Honestly that’s just how nursery has been in my experience. I’ve had 3 kids and all went through the same at nursery
When you have kids school or daycare they’re going to be sick and you’re going to be sick and everybody else is going to be sick. It’s not fun but part of life.
I feel your frustration mama! I know it’s not easy.
I’ve had both mine in daycare and one in school now. It does get better and easier as they get older.
Doesn’t take away that it is still really draining and difficult!
It’s not just daycare. My third is in preschool. She’s had pneumonia. Three ear infections. Cold after cold after cold. We started taking vitamins religiously and so far we’ve been good for two weeks now
That’s why I took my daughter out she was always sick not worth it
My grandkids are in school and we all are going threw the same thing
Welcome to daycare. This will build up immunities so school won’t be as problematic
That happens when kids first go to daycare or school. They are introduced to new germs and they get sick often. What I do to combat this is make them wash their hands and change their clothes once they get home. Their immune systems are developing so they get sick often and easily. Hang in there mama!
Daycare is building up theor immune system. Ear infections are NOT contagious so that void not come from daycare. By the time your child starts school, they should have a great immune system.
