Peeing blood while pregnant

I went to the hospital today due to thinking my amniotic fluid was leaking, when they tested me they used the q tip for a minute and spun it around and when they pulled it out (sorry it’s tmi but it was coated in blood) after that I went to urinate and it was painful and a pool of blood, I have urinated 5 times since and every time it’s just straight blood, is that normal? I’m 40 weeks and 3 days pregnant.

I bled when my labor started!

You may be going into labor. Good luck !!

I would go get checked out, you could be going into labor

Girl you better go to the doctor. I know some spotting after a vaginal exam is normal but that doesn’t sound normal at all!

When I went into labor I dilated really fast and had quite a bit of dark blood on the toilet paper but not in the toilet. I think you need to get to the hospital.

Ummmm just go to the doctor. Please. . Lol

If it’s your plug that come away fair enough but it’s usually a brown mucus…beat go get checked out hun good luck xx

That happened to me, when they tested me to see if my water broke. I ended up giving birth the next morning.

I bled a little earlier in my last pregnancy when I would pee… ended up being a UTI. Definitely get checked.

Some blood is normal. A ton of blood is definitely not. Hope you and babe are okay!

:flushed: go to the hospital!!!

Stop posting on facebook amd go to a hospital are you fucking serious?! When is blood like that ever normal?! Dude…

Sounds like you lost your mucus plug. Totally normal

Yes go to the hospital

I don’t really understand as it sounds like the blood happened while you were at the hospital but labor and delivery asap. If you’re not in labor they should induce you.

Defintely go back to the hospital!

No not normal. If you weren’t bleeding before the Q-tip swab I would definitely go back ASAP and let them know that you’re bleeding profusely every time you urinate that you’re basically urinating blood because that is not good.

Sounds like placenta privea

I would go back tonight and make sure nothing is wrong better safe than sorry! Especially if your in labor you don’t want to end up being super dialated and not making it in the hospital and end up having the baby while your not at the hospital! Good luck momma!

just wanted to say that you and babies health come first, there’s unfortunately a lot of medical professionals ( even other women ) that do not take women seriously when it comes to health issues especially during pregnancy and labor, do all that you can to make sure you are listened to and every step to make sure everything is ok is taken. Do not be afraid to stand up for yourself and your baby. Best of luck momma

I would go to the hospital and be over that. Blood isn’t safe in pools. In exams a bit of spotting is normal but not pools of it. That can’t be safe for the both of you.

I would get a 2nd opinion. I had issues for 2 weeks with ocational bleeding and belly pain and contractions and i ended up having severe pain when at home at 37 weeks 6 days that caused so many issues within minutes of starting including not being able to feel parts of my body and caused me to need to be rushed by ambulance to a hospital that was not my primary OB clinic and have an emergency c section…When they got to baby they found that my placenta had almost completely detached and had been bleeding into my uterus and baby had been digesting blood for nobody knows how long so it had been at least partially detached for a while. Go with your gut, I trusted my doctor who had delivered my other 4 and could have lost my 5th if i had not gotten to the hospital as fast as I did due to them not taking me seriously or looking into my symptoms.

If you decide to go in tonight please keep us all updated! Praying everything is okay! I’ve never heard of bleeding like this so it sounds really scary especially if your nurse didn’t seem real worried!

If your bleeding like that it could have been your mucus plug also your water may be leaking, sometimes the swab doesn’t always pick it up if it’s a slow leak… That’s what I was told when i thought my water broke… Definitely go back to the hospital & tell them this is no joke!! Your far enough along now for them to keep you & induce you if you move slow. Good luck hun & Congrats :tada::tada: You may get to meet your baby soon!! Keep us updated :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::pray::pray:

Definitely go back to the hospital! Xx

First time mum here. On Saturday I had a scan and they said no changes had happened with baby at 36 weeks pregnant. I went back to my hospital room as I was admitted for observations due to high risk and complications. I had a chicken wrap and a packet of crisps and spoke To my mum on the phone. 30 minutes later I started getting pains and needed a wee as I went it was bloody and mucusey. So I called the nurse in who said I was loosing my mucus plug at 2.30pm. Pains got worse and didn’t settle I took a walk to try calm them it didn’t work. They stuck me on a ctg and his heart rate was fast at 176bpm for a sustained amount of time. Factors was included that because I was stressed at the discomfort it was affecting him so they took me off and put me back on a few hours later. It hasn’t changed still the high end so they took me over to delivery. Monitored on delivery 5.30pm it was confirmed I was 1cm dilated so again put back on the ctg. The pains got worse and they realised there was a problem. My waters broke but they were murky they realised he had opened his bowels inside which is very dangerous. At 10.45pm they took me down to theatre and gave me an epidural and delivered him safely at 11.25pm. He is still in nicu but his doing amazingly after his surgery.

Point being tests can’t always determine the outcome your body knows what it’s doing always trust your instincts. I also had a swab test done which was meant to determine if your body will naturally go into labour within 2 weeks on the Wednesday and it come back negative.

When my water was leaking they tried telling me it was just pee. Like I didnt know the difference. I demanded they test it again and sure enough it was my water. You know when something isnt right. Go back and demand to be looked at more thoroughly

Go back to the hospital, I stated bleeding and went in I was in labor… delivered the next morning at 41 weeks 2 days

Update for everyone, I called the birthing center and they said stay home until I feel contractions and make sure he’s moving, the last time I peed there was no blood but only when I wiped, I had an appointment for this morning and they rescheduled me for tomorrow due to my doctor having to be at the hospital all day. I’m still freaking out but he’s still moving and i have only had a few contractions.
