What do you do for rewards for potty training? My son is currently getting a skittle or a smartie every time. He won’t let me forget. I wish I started with stickers lol!! He is 3 days in. Also how long do you continue with rewards? Today was the first day with no accidents!

We did animal crackers. It’s like $3 for a box of hundreds, but we only used them for maybe three days. After that we would just celebrate and shed jump up and down wanting to show everyone (2.2 years old)

maybe say you’ll give the treats for 5 days and on day 6 you’ll go to the target and pick out a prize. (however many days and whatever prize type thing you want LOL). that way there’s a goal, if that’s your kids currency.

Nothing wrong with skittles or smarties! Did it with all mine! He will eventually forget about it or when you’re out of them just tell him you gotta get more and keep forgetting when you go to store, he’ll slow down with wanting them! I’d give it about a month before trying to stop it! I have skittles in a bag in my bathroom now and my kids (in home daycare) know when the bag is gone then there’s no more. It’s worked for me for 20 yrs and hasn’t failed me yet! Good luck

We did for a couple weeks. Then just did a couple m&ms for a poop for a couple more weeks (harder to train for us). After a while I just stopped buying candy and she stopped asking.

Start giving treats for going a whole day (like a few pieces of candy or a scoop of ice cream) switch up the prizes day by day and have it go longer (little by little) between treats.
Once you move on from day to day with the treats, a sticker sheet should be the way to go and at the end of it, (the few days or week, whatever you decide) have him pick what treat he wants
I have never given a reward for potty training. The reward is everyone cheering an saying good job!

Honestly continue the rewards for like a month. Till it’s just natural habit for him. One Skittle or smartie isn’t bad honestly as long as he’s brushed his teeth at night
I didn’t give rewards, it didn’t occur to me. I just waited until they were ready, and they did it without any problems.
