Okay, pros and cons to retractable gates?? We have one of those rainbow plastic gates that we use for a play pen but I’m wanting to block off our hallway and/or kitchen becuase our toddler is getting older and needs more room to roam safely lol, are retractable gates a good way to go so that when he’s in bed it can still be open?

We have the metal ones that swing open. When not in use we just leave them open.
