Question about potty training?

I am at a lost. We are potty training my 3 year, he knows how to go pee in the potty and has not had any accidents in a while. But he will not poop in the potty. He literally waits until I put a pull up on for bed to poop. He has poop a couple of times but they are very few. I tried treats, rewards. We are even doing negative rewards. Like no TV, or no mickey mouse for day, no sweets. I am constantly asking him and telling him it is what big boys do, everyone poops in the potty.

Put him on the toilet by himself. Let him watch a video but don’t worry he’ll get it soon

Never punish only praise he will get it If you keep punishing him for it he will hold it in and that will not be good.

Never punish for potty stuff. It can cause really bad emotional damage later on. It’s the one thing you never ever discipline for.
Try giving him his fav character undies to put on whenever he poops on the potty and plain ones whenever he poops in a pull up.

stop stressing and take the pressure off you and him. Leave it another couple of months and then try again. Negative rewards will not help and if you continue putting pressure on him it could lead to him holding on as a form of control and then that can lead to major problems Kids click at different times with toilet training, by pushing a child who isnt quite ready it just causes undue stress for everyone

If he’s waiting for the pull up stop putting him in one. I’m sure you are doing this so he doesn’t pee the bed, but get a mattress protector and I used puppy pads, stop giving them drinks about an hour before bed and make sure they go that last time right before bed. As someone who wasted money on “nighttime pull ups” for too long, just know it only took me two nights to completely night time potty train them… way easier than I thought, and my kids would wake up with full diapers…

Mom of multiple kiddos, including a toddler, I’ve never wasted money on pull ups…let him choose his favorite underwear and continue to encourage him to keep them clean and dry, there will be accidents, so be patient, as it gets closer to bedtime, have him use the potty and also wear his big boy underwear to bed( mattress protector in case of accident) first thing in the morning, have him sit on the potty.
