Could someone give me a example of what and when they feed there 1 year old? My son just turned one, he’s formula fed, no teeth yet, but he has some coming. He eats eggs, fruits/veggies and really anything soft and healthy. I know we have to cut out formula soon. I’m just nervous and not sure how to cut it out completely!
Oatmeal, applesauce, yogurt, and also you dont have to quit bottles yet
You dont need to cut out formula… I’m planning on breast feeding but if I cant I will use formula and then I will use follow up formula along with food (in a sippy cup)
I use milk w my one yr old and he does great and water and juice and he just got tired of the taste of formula.
You definitely don’t have to quit formula…and when you do you go to whole milk…sounds like you are being a good mom
My son is 17 months. A very finicky eater!! And he still takes 2 bottles at night. 1 to go to bed with and maybe another sometime around or after 2am. I use formula for his night bottles. My thought is that it supplements the vitamins he may need because he’s such a picky eater. We switched to the Toddler formula a few months back
I had to use formula for naps and bedtime. And water down the milk a little because it made his poop sooo white n runny. So the doctor said to water it down. Sometimes its too strong to digest for babies.
pancakes, yogurt, apple sauce, fruit squeeze pouches, smoothies, rice, noodles, anything soft. we did baby led weaning for my kids. so if they showed interest in our food that is what i tried feeding them.
Peanutbutter sandwich’s, crackers, fruits, veggies, yogurt, pancakes, tuna sandwich, cereal like Cheerios
8 months… but he’s been eating like this since 6.
Three meals a day with me, everything I eat - he eats
I would put 2 ounces of formula in a bottle & than the rest whole milk & my little girl did good
Formula goes until 18 months unless his pediatrician is fine with his growth rate.
Apple sauce, bananas, mashed fruit, buttered toast, eggs, pulled chicken, pulled meat, anything we ate pretty much just either pureed or pulled apart into baby bite sized bit
Oatmeal, applesauce, fruit, beans. Before my son had teeth i would puree a few veggies or fruits together. He really loved bananas mixed with avocados.
Mine one year old eats too much stuff it would be a shorter list to tell what he doesn’t lol but he 11 teeth… just making sure it’s soft since he doesn’t have teeth right now or very little bites of whatever it is so he doesn’t choke and you should be okay
Oh smoothies would be great to because you can blend fruit and vegetables together
At one he can eat whatever you are eating. And you could slowly incorporate whole milk into his formula. Like 3/4 formula 1/4 milk and then half and half etc.
Just stop giving it… did it w both my kids… bottle and breast milk/ formula gone on 1st bday
My 11mo pretty much eats everything. And he’s only got 2 teeth!I’ve found if pieces are small enough he’s fine with them. Their gums are harder than they seem…they can chew fairly well. He eats three meals a day with me and will snack between meals on things like Cheerios, fruit melts, baby cheese puffs, teething biscuits. But really he just wants what I have. So breakfast is usually pancakes/waffles/toast with yogurt and fruit. Lunch is usually leftovers or pasta or PB sandwich and applesauce or fruit. Dinner is whatever we are eating unless he’s not happy with it in which case I have some frozen chicken nuggets he likes so I’ll do those and a veggie.
We just had peas, chicken and tri color boiled potatoes. She loves watermelon and banana. She eats everything! She has two teeth on top and two on the bottom. She pretty much eats what I do…except she gets more fruits and veggies than I do.
Hipp follow on with a healthy diet. Plus cows milk. X
My son who will be two in September has been eating whatever I eat since 9 months old as long as it’s not a chocking hazard, but he also has a his teeth he loves hot dogs fries and pizza lol
Cottage cheese. Yogurt.
I went to toddler formula then weaned off that
My daughter started eating whatever we were eating with the exception of a few things since about 8 months she had no teeth until she was 11 months and still at 17 months only has 8. 6 on top and 2 on bottom. She is cutting a couple more teeth on the bottom rn. As for the formula we would make 3 ounces of formula and then put 1 ounce of whole milk in. We did this for about a week or two and the half and half did that for another week or two and then. 1 part formula 3 parts milk and then just milk. We did it this way because when we switched her from breast milk to formula she had a hard time with it at first. She has a little bit of a sensitive stomach and had to be in gentlease formula. We wanted to ease her into whole milk Incase she had a sensitivity.
By 12 months, mine were well and truly eating what we ate… mine were gnawing in chops and sausages before they had teeth… I’m not sure why it’s such a drama to feed babies food these days… maybe it’s just a new generation thing? I don’t know, just give the child whatever you have and see how he goes…
Check out baby led weaning. Its whst im doing with my 7 month old son
My one year old eats everything we do cut up into tiny bites. I began with doing part formula part milk and went from there. It worked!
Feed him 3 meals a day with snacks in between. Give sippy cup of whole milk once a day. That’s what I did with our pediatrician’s recommendation. In my opinion, take formula and bottle away at the same time cold turkey. My kids never missed it.
When my son was one he ate EVERYTHING lol
His favorites were cucumbers, berries, oranges, pizza and chicken
You don’t have to cut it out untill you feel comfortable. I never understood the whole formula fed baby’s have to be off at 1 but nursing is encouraged to 2 yrs at least
Switch to different milk we did no dairy
Kids are switched to whole milk at one.
My son had a hard transition so we used toddler formula for awhile
Do not give hotdogs esoecially with no teeth look up or ask doctor about the choking hazard !
You don’t actually have to cut Formula yet my son was on it till 15 months since he couldn’t do Milk and our Pediatrician said that especially if they are not eating a lot it will help them maintain their calories and give extra protein. We did Baby Led Weaning with my son I recommend looking it up just to get the basics since he is already eating some foods. By 1 we were having 3 “meals” a day and snacks but he didn’t always eat very much.
Our daughter’s pediatrician advises keeping her on,doemula as long as possible - even after a year. She went until about 14 months on formula before we introduced milk. As for foods, we stuck with fruits and veggies and easy to chew proteins (chicken, ground beef, turkey, etc) cut into small pieces. We also did cereal, yogurt, pasta, and slowly introduced other foods. Once she got a taste of what we were eating, there was no going back! Lol!
Put my 1 year old on milk for bed he has Jared food that’s premade all healthy and blended
