Should I be concerned that my 11 month old doesn't have teeth?

My daughter is 11 months (turning 1 in 4weeks) & doesn’t have any teeth yet. Is that normal? She eats like she has teeth lol just gums everything. But I feed her steamed veggies, baked or grilled chicken, fish, shrimp, rice, homemade mashed potatoes, beans, posole, menudo, macaroni, Gerber baby soft snacks, etcetc… also she’s drinking whole milk & water down juices (i.e. apple juice) in a sippy cup (she drinks formula from a bottle sometimes-at night but only like 6oz maybe as a way to soothe & go back to sleep) . I still brush her gums everyday & make sure she doesn’t hurt her mouth . She has a dental appointment in April . I’m just worried she’s behind or something. Are their any other mamas with little ones that don’t have their teeth yet?

My first daughter didn’t start getting teeth until around 9/10 months and then they all came at once :joy:

Honestly it’s a good thing because the less time they’re exposed to formula/BM the better for them. Both are really sugary.
I wouldn’t worry about it momma.

I would be definitely concerned also. What does her pediatrician say?

Does seem a little late but I’ve heard the longer they take to come in the healthier they are (or maybe like other comment they last longer from less exposure) take her to the dentist (you’re supposed to by 6m anyways)

My daughter didn’t get any until 2 days after her first birthday. I asked the Pedatric dentist and they said it’s fine she’ll just lose her teeth later than other kids.

I didn’t cut one until I was just over a year. Some are just late teethers.

My oldest three didn’t get any until after their first birthday. My fourth got his first at five months. I wouldn’t worry yet.

My son didnt till 15 months

According to what my mom once told me, I was born (exactly a month late) with (I think it was two?) teeth ready to crown. I know I had teeth within the first couple of months, because a lot of my two- and three-month baby pics have them clearly visible. My younger half-sister took thirteen months to sprout her teeth. Same mother with both of us, and she followed the same pattern with both of us. Some people just “sprout” at different times. I wouldn’t be concerned if I was this mama, unless her pediatrician or pediactric dentist tell her there’s cause for concern.

My son got his 1st tooth when he was just about 2 years old. We were worried but our pediatrician wasn’t worried. Said they would come in when they were ready to (didn’t stop us from worrying though). He was right.

My son got his first tooth at 13 months and then they all started popping soon after.

Still within normal range.
Expect bottom two front teeth first.

My daughter didn’t get her first tooth until she was 14 months old! Then she cut 8 teeth in 3 days😳

We just asked the paediatrician this same question the other day, they aren’t concerned until 14 months and then they’d do checks on their vitamin d levels etc and check they actually have teeth :slightly_smiling_face: but not concerned until 14 months.
My 10 month old just cut her first one today

My oldest was 9 months and current youngest was 1 yo.

It’s normal, her time is coming mine cut his first two teeth at 1 year and 2 months

My son was 16mths old before he cut his 1st tooth
And was 2yrs old with only 4 teeth

My daughter did not get her first tooth until after she was a year old. It is normal for some kids. Don’t stress.

My daycare provider even teased that she was going to get her dentures for her first birthday. Lol. :joy::joy::joy:

She is almost 18 now and is just fine.

My little one cut his first tooth the day before his first birthday. In a month he had 8 teeth!!! We always joked saying we didn’t think there was teeth in his gums:joy::joy:

3 of my kids didn’t get teeth till 10+ months. With my first I was curious if it was ok, and I was told that if she had none at 15/16 months then they would check it out, but even then it could be fine.

Each child is different and all concerns are legitamate and can raise questions which need a polite answer. I married at 18 years, raised 4 kids, had never baby sat, was an only child and our kids had sensitive digestive systems, got pneumonia and ear aches easily etc. so I had lots of what probably sounded like silly questions as they did not come with instructions. But fortunately they all survived and are basically healthy at ages 60 years to 70 years. But now the oldest one is battling prostate cancer, so the questions and need for support and guidance, continues! Amen!

Inthe old days
It was believed to be the longer it took the better the teeth

Think my daughter was almost 1 before she got any teeth and then she got loads at once x

My son had his first 2 pop in it 3.5 momths and had them all in by age 1. They just came in quick. My daughter was pretty much “on time by Dr’s view”. Every child is different.
That said, if it bothers you or you’re worried, take to the pediatrician and see about a pediatric dentist. :hugs:

They come in when they are ready. After 12 months is not that unusual. Just keep up with the soft toothbrush and regular dental checks. They’ll probably come in quickly when she starts

My nephew didn’t cut his first tooth till after his first birthday but he had absolutely no problem eating real food I just made sure everything was cut up really small for him he loved food

She has toughened her gums by chewing on other stuff

If the doctor tells you not to worry, then dont worry. Your child has its on timing. As long as they are eating, they will be fine.

My friends daughter was 16months. The dentist said the longer they take the better in long run. They do investigate at about 18months-2years, generally with a xray. Sometimes the teeth are there bur stuck under the gum, so they make small holes for the teeth to get through

My nana always told me if you show the baby there reflection before they are so old they won’t teeth until they are one :woman_shrugging:t2: idk old wise tell.

Nothing to worry about, my first child had hers when she was 1 and my second child at 5 months. It will pop when its ready.

My youngest was nearly 13 months

Enjoy the gummy smile while it lasts. Totally not something to worry about

My son didn’t get his first tooth until 9 months. Every babe is different. stress less mumma, they will come

Both of my daughters didn’t get teeth until after they turned 1.

I have always heard that if a baby’s teeth come in later that they are usually stronger teeth and will last longer…

All kids are different. It’s totally fine.

Nope! My 13 month old only had teeth at 1

My little girl didn’t get teeth until 15 months!!! I took her to the dentist and it turns out that the longer it takes for their teeth to come in the better off their teeth are if taken care of. My daughter didn’t let not having teeth stop her from eating. She could eat cheeseburgers, meat, nuggets, fruit, raw veggies. She was a masher lol

My son was 13 months old before he got his first tooth :tooth:. He was fine

My kiddo only had one and a half at that age lol. She is 13 months now and going on 10. Good luck cuz they’ll all come in at once

My son was 16 months before he had any teeth.

My daughter is 11 months and only has her bottom two right now

My niece got her first tooth at 12 months

All babies are different. I think it’s perfectly normal but good idea taking her to the dr to find out! I had a friend in 8th grade (so many yrs ago lol) who never lost a baby tooth! He actually lost it in 8th grade math class! I just think we’re all different & probably shouldn’t worry. Sounds like you’re doing a great job & she’s eating well. I wouldn’t worry too much :pray:t2: good luck :+1:t3:

My daughter got her first tooth at 13 months. Just remember, the later they get their teeth the later they fall out. My daughter at 13 still had four baby teeth. They had to be pulled and it screwed up her adult teeth. Braces for a few years and still uses a retainer at 21.

My younger son didn’t get any until he was 1. he’ll be 2 Wednesday and has just about all of them now! They just started coming all at once pretty much.

My son didn’t get any until he was 14 months…

My daughter was 13 months before she got any! She’ll be 2 in May and she still only has the top 4 and bottom 3 and 2 molars! She was a premie too they say it happens m, I find it weird LoL plus side she won’t loss them until later

My babies 9months and none their all different my 1st baby was born with some teeth and 2nd got hers at 6 months and 3rd was 10months no worries but im sure that baby can still eat because mine still tears food up :sob::sob::sob::flushed:

Normal, our kids dentist told us that the longer it takes to get them the healthier the teeth. None of mine had any teeth at all before a year and 2 out of my 3 were 15 months before they got like 4 at once.

My now 8 year old had no teeth until like 12/13 months. He got them all quickly after that & had no discomfort from teething. He could run, was bald and could basically speak in complete sentences. Now at 8 he JUST lost his first tooth, late to get them late to loose them. I’ve asked the dentist repeatedly, she always assures me it is not at all a problem. They will come when they come!

Be happy about it! They’ll have their baby teeth longer! Lol my son had his first baby tooth at 2months, lost his first baby tooth at 4. Now at 9, he has like 1 baby tooth left😭

They say the longer their teeth take to come through and the longer they have their baby teeth, the better their adult teeth will be? :crossed_fingers:t3:

No need to be concerned both my oldest kids didn’t get any teeth until they were 15 months, they were the last in their class to loose their baby teeth but the longer they take the better the teeth will be . Both of my kids were eating everything by the time they were 8 months

My kids were all around 15-18 months before they got any teeth & the dentist said they would have really good teeth! The oldest 3 all lost their first teeth around 7-8 years old & have never had any cavities ever! My 5 year old & 3 year are are the same way no cavities & very healthy teeth!

You shouldn’t start to worry unless they don’t start coming in by 18 months. Then you’ll have to take the child to the dentist and see what’s going on.

My daughter is almost 9 now but she didn’t get her first tooth until a couple weeks before her first birthday, it’s completely normal. I know it’s really hard to feed them as they get older and don’t have teeth but you are doing really well. Her teeth will come in when her little body is ready, just try not to worry

2 out of my 3 kids didn’t get their first tooth until 12 months. It’s not uncommon.

My daughter didn’t have her teeth until she was 18 months old.

That’s how my daughter was. Now she’s almost 8 and still hasn’t lost a baby tooth yet.

Pretty Normal for my 1st 2. But my twins had teeth within the 1st yr. I’m counting 6 each. They’ll be 1 in 4 days adjusted of course Lol they eat everything too

My daughter didn’t have teeth until she was 17-18 months old… I wouldn’t be concerned about it just yet.

My first 2 kiddos didn’t have a single tooth until around 13 or 14 months old. My 3rd kiddo had his first tooth by 5 months. There all different

My daughter didn’t get her first tooth until after her 1st birthday

My oldest kid didn’t get teeth til he was almost 2 I was worried too I took my kiddo to the Dr and they told me if he didn’t have teeth by 2 then we would need to see a dentist I would talk to your kids dentist

My daughter didn’t get 1 single tooth until she was a year old. Then got like 4 in in a month

My kids dentist said the longer it takes for their teeth to come in, the stronger their teeth will be as they age. My daughter got her first two teeth at 5 months and my son not until almost a year. She does have more struggles with hers than he does, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be an issue for all. I hope not since my grandson just like mommy, got his first at 5 months and he’s almost a year with 8 teeth now
