Should I report my nieces car seats?

It’s sad how ppl just run to reporting family or others at that matter. What if that was you? What if she just reported you without even mentioning anything to you? Talk to her and see if she needs help. Maybe someone should send this post over to her so she can see how damn shady you are. Smdh.

Grow up! Why would you report this? Be the bigger women and help get the correct car seats. There enough kids put in the system for petty things like this that could be helped and avoided.

Why don’t you try to help educate her on proper car seat safety and help her get new ones instead of trying to get her children taken away

Or your family could pull together and buy her proper seats :v:t3: a bit of kindness goes a long way!!!

Take up a collection for new ones to gift to them.

If you can’t afford to buy them new car seats, maybe point them in the direction of organizations that can help.

So unless those kids are being starved, neglected and /or mistreated there is no reason to report someone for either not knowing or not having the resource to get new car seats. Be a grown up and tell them the car seats aren’t safe and help them find a program in your area. Starting at the local WIC office or even the fire station. If they don’t have a program set up they will point your brother in the right direction.

Health departments also give carseats or help with payment so it won’t cost as much. Or even a crisis center for parents who needs help. I know some places don’t have crisis centers but some do. I wouldn’t call unless you know the children are being neglected. If they are being neglected then call in with everything you have. If the car seats are the only issue then please help find resources to get car seats. I’m glad you are looking out for those babies. Not many people would.

I think step one is definitely saying something to mom and dad…however coming as the aunt who cares enough to even notice something like an unsafe car seat or being without a coat in the middle of winter or not having shoes whatever…I myself can’t afford to buy two brand new car seats so for everyone saying that if it were me “buy new ones” is completely useless advice because do you think if she could afford new ones she wouldn’t have done it already? Because I would for my babies unless I didn’t have the money. Communication is first. But at the end of the day the babies come first so use your judgment

You could be a good person and buy your niece and nephew a new safe seat instead of thinking the right thing to do it turn them in… smh. Wtf

Geez glad you’re not in my family. I mean you could talk to mom. Find out why they are using ratty seats. Maybe gift then new ones. Why is your go to reporting them first?

Buy them new carseats

Local fire departments usually have car seat programs. Ask them, they will help. Maybe they can’t afford the outrageous prices on them. No need to turn anyone in.

Jesus that’s your first thought is to report family? Have you I don’t know thought about researching help to get car seats or talking about it to them. Offering help? This is just terrible.

You can find cheaper used ones at resale shops that aren’t expired if new ones are not an option.
Honestly I’d try to fix the problem without saying a word about it.

Why “report” when you can help. There are many programs that will help with car seat replacement.

If your that worried maybe you should find a way to replace them they probably having a hard time. You can get pretty nice ones at the thrift church stores. Also I think police stations carry some . If your local I have one that was only used a few times for my grandbabies you are welcome to. I always believe you help others whenever you can so if you feel they are unsafe try finding a way to help these parents out

If those were my nieces I’d buy them new car seats. I wouldn’t go at the length you’re trying to go at.

Instead of googling how to get your father in trouble, just go to Walmart and get them for him.

don’t report them- help them get new carseats and educate them.

I would offer help with replacing them rather then reporting it.

Why not help them buy new car seats instead of reporting them?

It’s hard to watch kids in unsafe car seats but unless they knew and just didn’t care about them then I’d speak to them and tell them they need to get new ones. I’m not sure who you’d contact about it all. Maybe just say what you have said here about no padding and things so hopefully they would get new ones. If they can’t afford them try and find help as people have mentioned about there are organisations that can help. I no local to me here in the U.K. our fire service can point us in the right direction. I hope you manage to get it sorted as all kids need to be safe.

Why don’t you be a good family member and BUY THEM CARSEATS IF YOUR SO CONCERED ABOUT IT??? You really wanna report this to cps and possibly get the kids taken? Pathetic

Buy them new car seat, if you can’t afford it, maybe ask family to pitch in. Or while you’re on google, you can look up how to get free car seats in your area. But geez, your sister is raising two small children, help her out! Don’t cause her any more stress calling CPS on her!

Why not try to help and find a couple car seats ?

Shouldn’t all that energy go into getting them new ones as gifts? Why go to all that length to get your father or their parents in trouble?

Instead of thinking about reporting anything and ruin family relationships how about you help them out getting new ones. Some places donate them or give them pretty cheap…
Remember, the kindest and most positive solution is always the right one

How about instead of reporting them and getting them in trouble… why won’t you be a good family member and buy them new car seats or they’re also places they can go and get free car seats! But on a serious note would you really turn in your family member for the car seats? You really wouldn’t help them out with getting new ones? :woman_facepalming:

instead of reporting them why don’t you help them get new car seat instead of trying to report them

I’d buy new ones or help buy them. How ugly to even think to report them!?!?

They are your NIECES and you’re asking what should you do? Either buy new ones or find somewhere that gives them away, plenty of resources on the Internet. Don’t be a Karen towards family please.

I would never report family. They’re not acceptable at all. Help a person out and have a chat with them about the car seats. Mom should be able to find an organization or church that will help her out.

How about you buy them some new ones? Obviously she needs guidance, start there and try and help. Report? Karen.

Maybe YOU could jus get them new car seats if u want to fix the issue :face_with_monocle: people so hatefu….hell at least they trying to keep ‘em somewhat safe most parents don’t even take that time!

There are so many programs that will help get them car seats for free and some at low cost. Reach out to your local shelter and explain the situation. Why get him in trouble when there is help out there

So instead of helping them to get good and proper car seats, you want them to go to jail while the kids go to foster care?
That’s the kind of person you are?

You can get Car seats free or super cheap on Facebook marketplace all the time

Why is your first thought to report them? Instead of causing drama reach in your purse and pay for new ones if it bothers you so much! Jeez

Educate them, help them raise the money for new ones.

Seeing that I don’t know the circumstances, I wont judge your reasons for wanting to turn them in. If they are otherwise good parents, I would ask them if they need help getting new car seats. Many organizations will help.

Damn what happened to helping family out? Now everyone wants to report everyone and see them at their lowest. That’s so sad :disappointed:

Why would you report your own family? Go buy or track down new/used car seats and replace them for them. Educate your family on the laws of car seats… don’t cause problems!

Buy them some new ones

Don’t report them! Help them. Inform them or help them find something cheap but reliable. Walmart has plenty of high back boosters for an affordable price.

I would help them find used (non expired) car seats or if you can buy them new ones. It sounds like they may have financial troubles and could use help from family!! Not reporting them!

Maybe buy them new ones rather than reporting them.

I think you mightve missed a few steps. I think first I would talk to them, let them know they aren’t safe, and ask them what you can do to help or see if you have friends getting rid of old car seats, ya know? Something other than involving social services right off the bat

It isn’t safe or legal.

How about instead of reporting them you just buy new seats! They might not have the money to replace them. They were probably given the car seats!

Turning them in over carseats? Help buy them some or mind your own business those things are expensive. If you dont have the money to maybe they dont either and you should be looking up phone numbers of places that help low income families get some not turn them in. Man this world lately

OK lately most of these post are lacking common sense 1 why would you report your family member over car seats 2 and to ask if they can get other ones or need help or even women’s places are around with car seats I mean even try Facebook Marketplace if you’re very desperate Something tells me does somebody might be jealous of their sister

How about letting them know they need new car seats or go buy them some?? I would buy my niece whatever the hell she needed! Why the hell would you report your own family on something so pointless?? You just made your self look like a complete asshole.

Maybe just find her new ones.

Go on Graco website and get them new ones. I helped a friend recently. If you send them a picture of what they are in, they will send you a coupon to use. I got a car seat with base and stroller for half price.

Don’t report…educate…and help find free or inexpensive car seats for them.

Karen just ctfd and get her some new ones. Maybe she is struggling and needs a little help. Smh.

I mean…ever thought of asking them about the carseats …expressing your concern instead of wanting to report them?!!..

Definitely NOT legal. Maybe they can’t afford them? Maybe offer help or ask for help on a group in here. You would be surprised at how many people are willing to help. They’re babies after all.

I would assume they probably need new car seats and try to aid them w getting them some car seats instead of stirring up issues

Smh…REPORT YOUR FAMILY INSTEAD OF JUST HELPING!!! Sickening🤢

It’s not the aunts responsibility to go buy car seats for them, it’s the parents job to keep their kids safe. If they can’t afford new ones, they should’ve asked someone for help instead of endangering their children. I wouldn’t report them, I’d bring it up and say the car seats are unsafe and they need new ones, and if they ask for help and you can help, then go ahead.

Why don’t you just buy them some new one’s!! That would be the best thing to do!!

I hate people like this instead of helping your family your gonna put them down because they don’t have car seats go buy one talk to them ask them if they need some help you think calling cps is gonna make a difference it’s just gonna cause you to loose that family member while they get free car seats

Maybe theyre washing the covers?

if they can’t afford correct car seats for their children, they shouldn’t have even had them in the first place let alone a year apart so young. This is just irresponsible parenting, if you know you can’t get the necessary items your child will absolutely need for their safety why be so selfish to bring them into your messy life??

Maybe they just took off covers for washing  my nephews were terrible pukers as lil ones. Any long rides caused them motion sickness. It was horrible. They actually bought extra covers and sometimes put plastic bags on the seats prior to long trips. There were several occasions when traveling the boys had to ride on bare plastic though, or on a towel. You can perhaps contact child & fam services to ask to get seats. Sometimes they give vouchers.

Where is this located? I have a couple extra carseats I can donate, but don’t report them. Help them.

Why would you report your family before you discussed the safety and legal issues with them? Maybe they had the covers and they were being washed. Maybe the one with the styrofoam issues had been dropped that morning. My point, talk to them first and then decide…

Grab them a couple seats from Walmart

Why not ask if there is anything you could do? Also the padding being gone is not child abuse you really sound like you are searching for a way to never see your family again. Must feel good to be you with everything together and perfect

Why don’t you just see about trying to help instead of trying to get them into trouble… contact the local fire department and see if they help with car seats. They usually help install them also.

If you’re so concerned instead of “reporting“ them why don’t you buy them new seats- unbelievable

Why not instead of reporting them just go by your nieces and new car seat maybe they cannot afford a new one and then a lot of times the fire stations have somebody that can legally put them in the proper way why don’t you help instead of complain

Wow, just wow. Your supposed to be their family. Why not offer to help them buy some new ones instead of being a judgmental Karen. Clearly she’s doing the best she can and needs help. If you’re concerned then bring the issue up with the parent instead of trying to get their child/children taken and find out why they’re in those ones to start with.

When I worked for local hospital we had a group that worked with in the hospital (in ob) that worked with a county agency to get car seats for those in need & you just trade in the expired ones or broken ones for new. Sometime if funds where low you are expected to give a small payment.

Instead of reporting YOUR family buy fhem one

There are resources out there for free car seats. Some hospitals give out car seats if you ask or stop by the fire station and ask if they have any. Usually there is a two hour class involved that educates the parents on car safety and how to properly install them and to look for signs of wear and tear. Educate and help them first before reporting them.

Buy them a car seat Judas

Instead of being an ass why don’t you help her purchase new ones instead of reporting your own family. Family helps family right?

At least they are in carseats some kids don’t even have one so stop complaining. Yes they need new ones but you know what them sitting on plastic won’t kill them. Hell some of my family members years ago just sat their kids on the plastic and buckled them up and said let’s hit the road.

Instead of calling and reporting maybe try n help them. New ones are expensive but u can usually find gently used non expired ones on fb marketplace or reach out to a “buy nothing” group in your community and ask for one. I’m hoping you’ve already considered this before deciding to just report a family member which is pretty harsh.

You are so concerned about their safety then buy them new ones. Don’t judge what a parent has to do to keep their kids safe.

How bout buy them two more or go to the health department and get them

Call the local Fire Station. They have free carseats and even install them.

As an aunt my first thought would be the padding being washed they must have dirtied it or maybe the parents are having financial and can’t afford new ones. I’d be at the store buying my nieces new car seats rather than faking a concern and looking in line for a legal reason to report them.

This is why I trust nobody back in the day you should have seen my car seat I had one strap missing and there were no labels but guess what I’m still alive because at least my parents had one for me you are the definition of a Karen and also you should be ashamed of yourself family comes first how dare you

Maybe buy them new car seats ? Or find somewhere that can help donate ?

You should do what aunts do and that’s come through for the kids when your sister can’t. Instead of wanting to report her. Why would you even do that unless you know your sister is unfit and you’re just trying to find a reason to report her?

And I actually have two for sale for $100 right now hit me up

If you do that don’t be mad when the parents retaliate. You don’t play with peoples kids

How about trying to help them get new ones instead of going straight to report them :woman_facepalming:t5: it really be your own family

Man at least she has car seats
Fucken hell you should see the amount of people driving young kids (1&2) without them at all

So reporting them is your answer? Have you talked to them even? Have you offered to buy new ones since you are so concerned?

Buy them some. See if your county or Target is doing the trade in program.

Buy them some seats instead of plotting to.pitentially destroy this family.
What kind of person are you? Heartless and sly.

Why don’t you try talking to them about it and the safety of car seats, before reporting to the authorities? Have you offered to help pay for new seats?

Instead of being cold about it how about you go pick up two new ones for them? I’m sure they’d be very grateful for that.
