Signs of early labor?

Here’s my question,
I am 30 weeks and 5 days pregnant and this is my second pregnancy but I didn’t experience anything like this with my first. I have had a very rough pregnancy being in and out of doctors offices and the ER. Just as I thought I was getting a break in all the pain this happened. a couple days ago when I went to the bathroom I noticed a huge glob of mucus that was a green kind of color with pinkish streaks. This was odd because I didn’t have any intercourse or a vaginal check that could cause this. Today when I woke up I noticed a couple of reddish tinted spots on my underwear and when I wiped I noticed a pinkish spot. I mentioned it to my mom and my best friend and they both made the comment that this usually happens a week or so before you give birth. I have had really bad Braxton Hicks (which my OB says is ok as lost as they are random.) Could I have already lost my mucus plug? Is this a sign that I could actually be getting ready for labor or is it just a normal pregnancy thing. Again I didn’t have anything like this happen with my first. I have called my OB and am waiting for a response.

I lost my mucus plug at 31 weeks it ended up having my daughter at 32 weeks. but it is very possible for your mucus plug to grow back

Monitor contractions i had alot of lower back contractions with my 3rd pregnancy i didnt even know i was in lobor. Every pregnancy is different good luck mama

I would def watch for more signs of labor just in case but alot of times the mucus plug will grow back

It is possible it was your mucus plug. Just wait to hear from your doctor. Don’t panic. Keep track of when you feel the braxton Hicks contractions. If they seem to be happening regularly and increasingly uncomfortable/painful they could be actual contractions. Every pregnancy is different. Good luck momma!

All 4 of mine I lost at that time but no baby till 38 to 42 weeks. Just watch for signs and talk to your doctor

Your mucus plug can regenerate. No worries. I lost mine twice before I was induced at 37 weeks. I’d say normal, but if you have questions you should ALWAYS call your doctor.

Sounds like your mucus plug. I would definitely pay attention to the contractions but I also lost mine early, probably almost 8 weeks before I went into labor. It can regenerate, but the fact that it was pink discharge is what I would mention to you ob

Please go in and get checked. They can’t actually tell anything over the phone. It’s worth risking a wasted trip to get checked if anything is actually going wrong. That sounds like you’ve lost your mucous plug. It can be lost and then grow back or it can be lost because labor is coming. The only way they can tell is to actually check you. If you get seen and it is preterm labor they can help if they catch it early enough with steroids to speed baby’s lung development and medications to slow or stop contractions. With my first I did not get checked just listened to the drink water and lay down advice from my doctor’s office when I called, and he was born at 27 weeks. It was too late to stop labor by the time I came in, when they were still telling me not to bother. Babies #2 and #3 I made them check, got labor stopping medications and carried them to 37 and 34 weeks (the youngest was born at 34 for unrelated cord around neck, which we luckily caught while I was there for preterm labor again). Odds are low it’s anything to worry about but as a 2 time NICU preemie mom, go get checked soon. It’s not worth the risk to wait and see if it doesn’t stop soon on its own.

The mucous plug can regenerate, so its not uncommon to start losing chunks this early. But since there was blood in it, i would mention to your dr since this could indicate dilation and they may want to monitor you more closely.
