What happens if you have strep b at birth?

If you tested positive for group b strep, they will give you antibiotics during labor so you don’t pass it to baby

Yes they give you IV antibiotics before giving birth. If you don’t get the antibiotics then you can risk your child being blind when born and other stuff as well.

My daughter just had a baby and they automatically gave her antibiotics in hospital and she tested negative. They do it now no matter what (i guess it depends on hospital and doctor)

I’ve never made it far enough in my 3 pregnancies to get tested, so they automatically gave me the antibiotics all three times.
