Tips and advice on getting pregnant?

There’s at least 30/31 days in month. Looks like you got a lot of “under the sheets” to get to.

Just relax and have fun. If you are you were on the pill, it may take a long time to get pregnant.

Maybe get tested for PCOS. I have it but never knew until a dermatologist pointed it out. Or have your partner tested too if insurance covers it.
There are groups on Facebook that have lots of advice. They go under “TTC something” (TTC = trying to conceive)

My husband and I didn’t stress it. We thought of it happens great if it doesn’t we’ll just have more money. We have a beautiful little 4 month old girl now, but one and done haha

Your doctor can prescribe colmid… Not sure if thats how its spelled but it makes you ovulate

Stop trying :slightly_smiling_face: you might be trying to hard. My sisters in law had a 1% chance of getting pregnant. They were getting ready to complete the adoption process and fell pregnant. Take your mind off of it, make love to make love… not to make a baby. :slightly_smiling_face: good luck

Ask your doctor for clomid. Most insurance dont cover it but it’s cheap to pay out of pocket

Stop trying and kinda go with the flow if that makes sense

Have sex on your period! I knew a couple that couldn’t for the life of them get pregnant. They got drunk one night and she was on her period… one thing led to the other… and they had sex while she was on her period. Boom they were pregnant! Now they have like five kids! Sometimes some women ovulate during her period! I hope this helps!

Try climaxing first then stay lying down for 30 minutes.

Stop trying… Your putting a lot of stress on your self and body. I tried for so long for my second, some circumstances came up and we stopped trying. One day a couple months later I found out I was pregnant with my second

I followed ovulation test too and never became pregnant I had sex one week after my period and BOOM two lines on a stick.

For some weird ass reason you can’t try to become pregnant, you just have to let it happen naturally.

Get your thyroid checked. I didnt realize I had thryoid disease. Within 2 weeks of being on medicine, I was pregnant at 39 and now pregnant again at 43

Robitusson! Google it! You can’t take it while you are pregnant, but you take it while you are ovulating.

Try Keto diet. Many seamed to get pregnant on it.

Have you been checked for PCOS or hormonal imbalance? I have PCOS it took us years to conceive. I started Metformin and got pregnant several times. Had several miscarriages but we are 29wks with our miracle baby. Talk to your OBGYN to check your hormones. And start there. It’s hard to know how to help yourself until you fully know yourself.

I’m part of a few ttc groups. I also use an AVA bracelet every night. Fertility friend is a really good tracking app!

Get your thyroid and your hormone levels checked. See a obgyn and see if they would prescribe Metformin. It’s a diabetic drug BUT is known to help with infertility. That’s how I got pregnant.

I have been given Metformin due to hormone imbalance and I literally won’t get pregnant if I stop taking my Metformin but as soon as I start talking in within weeks I’ll be pregnant. :woman_shrugging:t2: happened both intentionally with my two kids. Maybe something to look into.

Took 4 years for me. Thought I was infertile so didn’t even think about it. I couldn’t have another child though. Try not to think about a baby and just go on with your life. I quit birth control within 6 mo of marriage they didn’t mesh with my body. When you least expect it you will become pregnant!!

How long have you been ttc?
If it’s longer than a year then you need to see your OB and get a medical diagnosis. Most insurance will cover diagnostic procedures and will pay a portion of some meds; Clomid, Femara, Metformin.
While testing for ovulation helps, there are so many other variables that come into play when ttc.
You could ovulate early, your hormone levels could be off, you could have a corpus luteum defect, a blocked tube, or it might not be you and it may be your partner (they sell at home kits for him to try), etc.

Finding out will help you relax and decide your next step.
Good Luck & Baby Dust.

Are you pre diabetic, what about your thyroid, could it be possible to have PCOS, are you over weight or under weight, there are so many factors that could play a role, are you sure it’s you and not him, maybe he has a low sperm count or only one working vas. You need to have an OBGYN do a whole screening for you. And same goes for your husband he needs to have a screening as well. A lot of the stigma is placed on females but it could be the Males too.

How long have u been trying sometines it takes months to get pregnant and it’s not always fertility issues

There are a lot of people commenting to “not stress it” and “quit trying”. While that may work for some people, please remember that there are actual medical reasons that can be causing your infertility as well. Until you’ve had a full work up done and know the underlying reason, you can try every trick and tip in the book without success. I have stage 4 endometriosis and PCOS. We tried for a year on our own and every month was heartbreak and let down. Finally we went to see a specialist. We did a full year of fertility treatments before moving on to IVF and finally conceiving our daughter. Sometimes there is a problem with the father’s sperm as well. I just know how heartbreaking it was every time I heard someone tell me I was trying too hard or that I was stressing over it too much. It was nice to finally know that it wasn’t my stress causing the problem even though being told I had medical conditions preventing pregnancy was less than desirable. If you live in NYS, starting in January fertility meds and IVF will be covered by insurance.

Start with testing for underlying issues. PCOS, endometriosis, low sperm count. If you are ovulating that is a good sign. Keep in mind pregnancy only results in a very low percentage even in a healthy couple.

Ok, I’m not trying to sound insensitive or body shame, but if you’re a larger (and by larger I mean medically ‘obese’) woman, losing weight can help your fertility. And also don’t stress over it. The harder you try, the harder it is to conceive. Truly weird how that works.

Depending on how long you’ve been trying it’s worth saving up and he getting tested and you. We found out so much from tests after trying and no success. Vitamins and a no sugar diet did great too

Ovulation strips from amazon- I thought I had a longer cycle, I was wrong, because of that I kept missing my fertile window! Got pregnant the first time using the strips, on two different occasions. Also, after your period stops have sex every other day then during the fertile window a few days in a a row. The Ovia app is great for tracking periods and such

Keto. Seriously. So many women struggling to get pregnant, have gotten pregnant after starting Keto.

Start with getting a complete exam done at an OBGYN office to help determine the cause. Also as alternative Therapy I highly suggest Mayan abdominal massage. I swear that is what helped me conceive after 4years https://arvigotherapy.com/arvigo-practitioners/

I thought I couldn’t get/stay pregnant because of my thyroid issues. I was never good at taking my meds and never got a period. I assumed no period = No ovulation. So my bf and I didn’t use protection. Sure enough, I got pregnant and carried to term. She’s 8 months old now.

Calculate your periods. Typically the average is 28-32 days in a cycle. You will ovulate at 14 days from the start of your period. Start having sex when you are just spotting towards the end of your period and after the 14 day mark of your cycle.
Check your cervical mucus as well it will be like egg white consistency. That’s when you need to have sex. Stay in bed when your spouse is finished. And just lay there for 15 minutes. Use pre seed lubricant if you need.
Healthy sperm stays in your system for 5 days

Start taking prenatals

Be very healthy. Keep a very healthy weight, eat clean, workout daily and start eating prenatals now. Watch your cycles carefully and don’t drive yourself nuts over it- stress will make it harder.

Both: Get tested for fertility and sperm count.
It took me 2 yrs of trying with a low sperm partner.(1st husband)
It only took me 3 months with a high sperm count partner. (2nd husband)
Last pregnancy, I was 41.

  • I share this with you, to give you hope. It can happen.

I used the Ovia app. It helps with tracking things like your discharge, last period, moods, when you’ve had sex.

I swear going to the chiropractor and getting my body aligned helped me get pregnant. We tried for 3 years. I started going to the chiropractor and getting adjusted once a week and two months later I was pregnant.

It’s important to know it takes a long time for a lot of women who may have zero issues. If you’re ovulating on your own which I assume you are because of your opks, then just using a healthy diet. Also there is a lot you can do with your obgyn that won’t require you to go to a fertility specialist.

If you ovulate, then the problem might be him. He can see a urologist for a sperm count. Idk if they will pay for the test, but they will pay for the dr and you pay for the test. And if you don’t have the money for that, you can’t afford a child. Otherwise, when your test show ovulation (I tested everyday for a full month first am&pm to track it, then the next month I tested everyday until I was positive) then check your cervical mucus, if it’s stringy and slimy and translucent (not white and creamy) then have sex immediately. And don’t get up or use the bathroom for a while (only time I stayed and in bed and went to sleep and didn’t pee). But definitely get his sperm tested first. Worked for me, anyway. :woman_shrugging:

Boost folic acid (prenatal vitamens a good source) eat healthy, any kind of exercise and meditation. Now relax when it comes to sex don’t make it about baby making, make it when you both desire and enjoy.

Fertilaid helped me with my first. I have pcos and conceived in 4 months.

Try changing diet. Keto has helped tons of people with PCOS or fertility issues.

Do you have pcos? Some people do and dont know but it’s hard to conceive if you do .

It may not be you? Does your SO have kids? If his insurance would cover a test on that maybe do his first.

Get the app to track your cycles mark when you start and when it ended then it will show when your ovulation window is

Seemed that once we stopped trying it happened. :joy: We stopped having “make a baby sex” and bam, I’m 6 weeks now haha

Baby shoes over the bed

Coconut oil as lube. Not gonna say it works. But I’ve only used it 2 times, and I got pregnant those 2 times.

You’re saying nothing about your age your physical condition diet stress levels or anything else

Took us 5years of trying

Find an OBGYN that does some fertility stuff like clomid. My OB would do 6 rounds of clomid before sending you to a “fertility specialist”. If you’re testing positive for ovulation during your cycle your husband needs to have his sperm tested.

Preseed or other fertility friendly lubricant. Regular lubes and spit can inhibits sperm

When you are finished making love lift your hips in the air and hold with hands for a few minutes. My uterus was tipped and only way I could get pregnant. 2 times. Also it worked for others that I have told!!

I know it sounds crazy but each time I got pregnant, after sex, I would elevate my hips with a pillow under me to keep it inside for 20 to 30 minutes before getting up.

My grandmother would try to lose weight. She was overweight but that wasn’t the point. She would be focused on that and not thinking about babies and that’s how she got pregnant.
I got pregnant this time when we decided we were gonna look for another apartment and it would be inconvenient for me to get pregnant again lol

After we lost our first it took 9 months of steady trying, testing ovulation, using fertility friendly lubes. And idk if it even works but id lift my hips up for awhile and wait to potty for a few minutes after we did the deed…We have been not really super trying again since my first…but not preventing… And we are wanting a second already but its been proven difficult yet again for us to conceive right away:/…atleast the last 4 months. So far nothing

Preseed used it twice got pregnant second time using.

Stop stressing about it, I used to think about it 24/7,did fertility stuff, nothing worked… then I figured I wasn’t meant to have a child, stopped stressing about it and low and behold about 6 months went by and guess what, I was pregnant. SO STOP THINKING ABOUT IT. hope this helps.

STOP WORRYING ABOUT! I tried for 2 years never got pregnant the second I was like okay I’m done trying it’ll happen 2 months later I found out I was pregnant

Forgot to mention it took us 10 years to have our son, it will happen.

Look up the fertility awareness method of birth control start tracking your basal body temperature cervical mucus and position in figure out when you’re ovulating or if you’re even ovulating at all

Agree with have your partner checked…
I did, his sperm was very low…below 40%.
After a while of test, meds, injections, he gave up, his mentality sorry. I gave up on him…I did put 100% of me into treatment…
At 35 I decided that was it…
But don’t give up, let MOTHER nature handle it. Good luck.

Alkaline water and a calendar . Some women can’t get pregnant if their ph level is too high that was my case I tried for 2 years with my first . I drank alkaline water as my last resort in hopes of my acid level being too high I got pregnant that month

Meditation daily will help you relax, clear your mind, relieve stress. All those will stop some people from getting pregnant!

I also heard eating yams daily helps!

Talk with your regular obgyn. Often they can start the process and prescribe meds that may help with getting pregnant and you may not need a fertility specialist

We tired for 3 years, ended up my husband need to take meds that helped us have a baby. It’s cheaper to have the men checked.

I hate that statement stop trying or worrying about it! Its not that easy to just give or stop thinking about a life long dream.
Took us 7 years to concieve.
About a year befor I started eating better, taking prenatles, and lost a bunch of weight.
I started staying laying down with a pillow under my legs to keep Them elevated Atleast 30 and an orgasm after the sperm is already there helps assist the sperms travel. Good luck.

Stop trying! That has been the key in my family. Good luck and god bless

See if you can get a blood test for your prolactin levels. If they are even slightly elevated you either won’t conceive or it won’t be a viable conception. I went thru that for many years not knowing- treatment is simple, a small pill once or twice a week. I conceived my son about 4 months after my initial diagnosis, then quit taking my meds while pregnant and then while nursing. When he was 15 months I began my pill again and I conceived my daughter 1 month later. I again stopped meds thru her nursing, 3.5 yrs. I started the pill again the same week we quit nursing and a month and a half later I’m expecting twins, I’m currently 31 weeks with them. Tiny hormone fluctuations make a huge difference!

My 2 pregnancy I used pre seed lubricant and it works 100% . I even recommended it to friends and they got pregnant too .

Download ovia fertility. Amazing app!

Try not to stress- and try taking prenatal vitamins while trying to conceive

Prenatal vitamins were recommended to me

Stop trying and have sex every three days

Talk to your regular OB/GYN. We had trouble. He prescribed Metformin and Clomid. 3 months later I was pregnant.

You should go see your OBGYN

Get drunk and have fun with your partner. Honestly though don’t try, don’t go on birth control and enjoy your partner

Go see your obgyn. Get your partner checked. Be at a healthy weight. Pay attention to when you ovulate and concentrate your efforts then.

Don’t stress it… go get a massage and relax yourself!

Chart BBT temperature. Download fertility friend app, monitor cervix position and mucus. Continue with ovulation tests. I ended up paying out of pocket and getting a prescription for femara. Then I had my second by accident.

My husband and I tried for over 2 years with no luck and the month after I fully gave up… BAM! I was pregnant

Get on birth control pills and after a few months get off of them try again💞

Might be your partner has low sperm.

Plan a big holiday! I was meant to go on a 5 week holiday overseas with hubby. We were meant to pay for our trip on the Saturday but I was feeling off on the Wednesday prior, did a test and BAM I was pregnant! We were using contraceptive and still I was pregnant. The best surprise ever, after losing two babies prior. I think once you stop trying and relax and enjoy yourselves then it happens.

Sex every other day during ovulation. Then after ejactulation pop in a menstrual cup to keep the sperm up near the cervix.

Be aware that certain medications can make it harder to conceive. I wasnt told that. Once I stopped taking mine boom pregnant

Literally, stop trying :joy:

My aunt was older and wanted a baby. I know weird and tmi but they had sex with her upside down lol like her head was on the floor and uhhh yea lol she ended up getting pregnant right away. And she was in her 40s.
