Hold chin and jaw, then shoot the meds down the side of the cheek in the back of the throat. Kinda like how you give horses meds by mouth. And it really does work.

Growing up has never come the easier way. Not ideal but this is what we have had to do. Put it in the jaw line and blow in their face. It forces them to swallow whatever they have in their mouth. A nurse showed me this when I was having trouble getting my daughter to take some nasty heart meds.

For my 1 1/2 year old i have to stick the syringe to the back of his throat so he will swallow it

Does he drink juice boxes? If so cut one end out that he can’t see, measure out the medicine and put in something small enough to fit inside the juice box and stick the straw into it. He’ll think he’s drinking juice, might work might not but worth a try.

Depends on what it is. You can get baby aspirin as a chewable tablet and same with a vitamin. I would try that route if possible. We call my daughters vitamin her “special candy” so there’s no fight on taking it.
Give them chocolate (not syrup) but like a piece of a bar… i was told this by an er dr when they prescribed my child zpac… he said it coats the mouth and taste buds… i also gave her a piece of chocolate after so she didn’t throw it back up she took her meds no problem after that

If you put it in a drink, just make sure it’s a small drink so all the medicine will be swallowed. I used to do that or hold my child’s nose while I squirted in mouth. You learn w every child, different things work

Our 2.5 yr old just had her tonsils out and refused to take her meds. We let her dip a lollipop in it until it was gone. She took it like that with no issues.
Also not ideal but for my oldest my father would hold her arms crossed and tilt her back on an angle while I used the syringe towards the back of her cheeks so she couldn’t use her tongue to spit it out.
I used a syringe with my son because he would fight and spit meds out. I finally started pretending to give his toy cars or stuffed animals the medicine. I told him that they were sick and needed to take the meds too. Once he saw they were taking it, he started to take it more willingly. At first I would give him a little at a time until he got better at it then he would take the full amount at once.
I used to mix meds in with a small amount of grape juice. My son would drink it none the wiser

Mix it with his milk and Nesquick Chocolate. Shake it up and give it him
Coffee creamer! My daughter is the same way. I saw someone post about using a chocolate flavored creamer in a cup with the medicine, it hides the taste and color. My daughter loves taking sips of my coffee anyway so it worked like a charm for her!

Use mio or some other flavored water additive to help cover the taste of the medicine.
Or mix it in apple sauce or yogurt.
Try in a drink like strawberry milk if it’s berry flavored. And what worked best for me is not forcing it my toddler is now 2 and I stopped forcing it because that makes it traumatizing and they will automatically not want it if so now my son will gladly take medicine with a syringe because I get flavored and it doesn’t taste bad he actually loves the grape Tylenol and begs for more I have to explain he can only have so much of it will hurt him. I never thought he would want medicine because I use to have to hold him down but I stopped doing that because it wasn’t working.
Mix it with anything he likes to drink . That seems to help my two kids

Just took my son to the hospital for meds for croup the nurse laid him back I put syringe in mouth and plugged his nose, he had to swallow. Ik it seems harsh but we tried everything.

Depending on what it is and how much you have used out of it already the pharmacy might still be able to flavor it!!?? Is there a flavor that they like? My son always like the grape Tylenol so I would always try to get his antibiotics flavored that flavor! Sometimes certain flavors don’t mix well with certain antibiotics but if it’s a flavor issue it might help because some of the antibiotics are horrible!! My son had enough in his lifetime and I have worked pharmacy for almost 19 years!
We squirted (through a syringe) into the back of my son’s cheek. It triggers the swallow reflex and harder to spit out! Good luck!
I used pop to get my 2½ year old to take his nasty antibiotics recently. I told him to take half the syringe then drink some of the pop (dr pepper with a straw) then take the other half with another sip & then he can have a treat of either jelly or an apple. It took a little faffing some times but worked so I didn’t have to force him.

My child has been on multiple different medications in her life. The best way I’ve found is making smoothies. Let them help you, have them go sit at the table or wherever the designated eating spot is and sneak it in the cup. That way they think it’s a fun activity and doesn’t traumatize them from medication giving, but gets the job done.

Use a syringe and put it in his jawline put your fingers between his jaw to open his mouth and it won’t hurt him and just be a second but that should really work well.
