She’s not too young. When you consider the toxic food, air and environment that we’ve subjected our kids to it’s not a shock at all🤷🏻♀️

I was 9 when I got my first period. It is definitely possible, but yes it would suck.

All the hormones in meat and milk… and other products that have it. It’s become “normal”for kids to be starting puberty earlier. I got my period at 10 which I think is pretty early. I definitely ate not great growing up though…My parents didn’t know better 
I try to look at all the ingredients in products for my daughter… non gmo, organic, no added hormones…

Mine is 9 and just started periods in Dec.
I had armpits full of hair by 3rd grade and pubic hair by 4th grade. I also needed deoderant by then too, so I wouldn’t say that 7 years old is too early to start puberty
I started my period at 9yo. My daughter was 16. Really there is no age for starting other than the body has matured enough. She’s not too young . She may not actually start her period for a while yet and personally I wouldnt be messing around trying to stop it.

I went through puberty at 10
My 5 year old daughter already has to wear deodorant. I was very young too. Started my period at 11 but had already been developing before that. It definitely doesn’t hurt to check but it varies so much!

They will develop their breast buds first and roughly 2 years after that they will start their periods.

My daughter started growing public hair at 7. She will be turning 9 this year and I’m sure her period is around the corner.
Everyone is different. But also… I was told it kind of goes off how early the mother started too. My daughter started showing signs around 7…and started her period the week after her 11th bday. My 8yr old daughter already had little boobies.
My daughter had pubic hair at 7, they tested her bone age and she was showing almost 2 yes older at that time, went through a major growth spurt of 6 inches in a less than a year. She had breast buds also, she is precocious puberty and her endocrinologist started her on LUPRON injections last December to slow her growth because his concern was that she wouldn’t reach 5ft tall at her growth rate. They plan to have her on injections until she is 10. She is 8 and 54 inches tall. The height projection now is 5”2.
My daughter has Central Precocious Puberty (CPP), aka early onset of puberty. She started at age 7 and saw an endocrinologist. She’s 11 now. Treatment for us was an injection every 6 months which really didn’t help. The only “side effects” of CPP are the child may not reach full adult height and social issues. Children with CPP tend to be bigger than all their peers until their peers catch up. Otherwise She’s perfectly healthy and already hit 4’11.

My oldest started hers at 10 and my youngest is starting to develop and had to start using deodorant last year. I am fairly certain she’s going to start before her sister did age wise 
My grandmother started when she was 9, I was 12.
We were taught 9 is the earliest for girls. But I think body hair came before the period for me and I got mine right at 9.

My mom said she saw my first pube at 5. I had 1 pube from the age of 5 to the age of 8 when the rest started growing. Got my first period at 10.
Girls nowadays have been starting between ages seven and 10 We used to start at like 15 but they are starting the younger and younger and younger

I was younf and around 10. My oldest daughter was around the same age. Its usually genetic. I agree, 7 is young and it’s a good idea to have it looked into
It actually becoming more common for girl 6-8 to start puberty. It’s completely normal.
I had hair when I was 8ish, got my period at 11
My younger daughter was 8 when she started growing pubic hair and now is 9 and she started her period. My other 10 year old daughter hasn’t gotten her period yet.

It is more common for girls to start puberty earlier but anything signs of puberty before 9 is cause for concern and should be checked. They will draw blood and check hormone levels. If hormone levels are too high then they investigate the cause bc it can cause the growth played to fuse too early and permanent damage.

My oldest daughter is starting to hit it, she’s only just turn 7 on December, started to develop her top half
Periods can start at 9-10, pubic hair will come in about a year or more before as buds start developing
My oldest started at 8. Our pediatrician stated that while it was early, it is normal for girls to be starting earlier and earlier. My oldest was showing signs of puberty at age 7. She’s now 12, 5’7” and is as healthy as can be. My pediatrician did not recommend her seeing a specialist.

I started wearing training bras in 1st grade (7)and real bras in 3rd. I had my period/hair at 10. A lot of it has to do with genetics and as Meredith Pritchard said the hormones in the food we eat 
still would get it checked out though

I had boobs by 9 and started my period at 11 my girl had boobs by 9 and started her period at about 10-11 i think
Ask your pediatrician about premature pubarche. My daughter was diagnosed with this at 5 years old.
Any age between 9-12 is considered normal. Many 8 yo today. There is a genetic component as well as nutrition (chemical) concern for early onset.
The youngest in my age group & I will be 69 this yr. I had friends get their periods as early as 9 yrs old. Me & a few others got ours at 11 yrs old. I hit menopause at 55 . Every child is different
My girls started 9, 10, 11 and 10. Heavy girls and girls of color tend to start earlier. I wish I knew that before so we could have been more prepared. Good luck mama!

I had precocious puberty growing up. I started showing signs at 5 so they put me on monthly shots to slow it down. That was back in the late 90s early 2000s though!

My daughter was 10 when she had her first period. They definately going through puberty a lot earlier these days.
I am 31 years old, and I started puberty at the age of 6. I started everything but my period, which came at 12. In my file from 1996 it just says “rare hormone disorder”, but I suppose by now they probably have a name for it. 
She’s not too young, just not as common for it to be that young. My nephew started growing his mustache at 7, well the hair started darkening at least.
I started my period at age 10 and my daughter did as well! It’s different ages for different children.

Seven is young. The average in the US is 11. However, Black and Latina girls hit puberty earlier (on average) than white and Asian-American girls. As of 8 years ago, when I saw this research regularly, no one knew why. The average age for menarche (first menstrual cycle) has dropped over the past 30 years. One possibility is that girls are hitting the body mass needed at earlier ages.
You’re doing the right thing. You’re making sure that nothing is wrong. Know that puberty at 7 does happen occasionally. You might ask a GYN or pediatrician for age appropriate books to help. When I was a kid, “Where Do I Come From?” Was popular, but I think it’s aimed at slightly older girls. Could be a starting point, though.

My 11yo had her 11 year check up last week. Her doc said really anytime for her and it is common for 8yo to start
I was 8. 3rd grade I started my period and started growing hair and having to wear a bra. My daughter is 8 and recently had to start wearing bras. My oldest two daughters were both 11 when they got their periods, but they started growing hair and needing bras long before that.
When a child goes through puberty very much depends on the child. It’s not something you can start and it’s definitely not something you can stop.

I hit puberty in 3rd grade but there had been a study about meat bought at like Walmart and did causing girls to start early
My 5 yo gdaughter needs deodorant, my 7 yo gdaughter wears a training bra … I wore a training bra at 9 & got pubes that yr … Started menses at 12 …
It’s because of all the the hormones in our milk & other dairy products from mass cow production given high levels of hormones …

I was 9 when I got my first period.
My daughter started last year at 9yrs old, it came FAST…Her body started to develop and then about summer time she started her menstrual cycle.
I thought 9yrs old was waaayyy too young but according to our family doctor, Girls are starting around 8yrs old!!
Thankfully we had already talked and taught her everything she needed to know so she was prepared and scared of the changes.
Can’t remember when I started growing hair but got my first period at 9.
I started in 2nd grade. Had my period by the beginning of 5th, when I was 10.
I started my period at 8, it’s just puberty… It’s not unusual.
Unfortunately kids are going thru it earlier and earlier these days cause of all the added junk in our foods and products out there

Not unusual at all. Some girls get their period at 8 years old. Me and my girls had hair downstairs starting to grow by 9 years old. Training bras by 8 years old.

With all the hormones in food it can start at any time. The public hair starts before the period. You better start telling her now about the period and sex cause it’s all coming quicker then you think.
The UTI is probably from her sitting in bath water. She’s old enough for showers.
Started my period a week before my 7th birthday. I already had hair on my legs and private. It was normal in my family. My sister didnt get her first period until 17 but grew bigger breast than me by the time she was 12. Everyone is different

I would not be too stressed also it is common that the first year of menstruation is very irregular. I was told with my daughter who was a late starter that she needed to weigh closer to 40kg so there are a lot of factors that contribute. But yes our foods today are definitely full of hormones and our babies are having to become adults way to soon.
My child has had pubic hair and breast buds since she was 6 and she is 8 now. The doctor wasn’t concerned, she said some girls just go through it earlier.

Go to the endocrinologist and get their advice. There are disorders that cause a body to start entering puberty before it should. My daughter has been seeing and endocrinologist since the age of 3 for similar issues. They will do bone age scans and run blood tests to see if something is making her body mature faster than it should.

I had books in grade 4, got my first period in the summer between gr 6 and 7
My daughter started her period at 10yrs old. She’s 11 now and has a lot of public hair and has to wear a bra.
My daughter is 8 and has a ton of underarm hair and some downstairs.
My daughter has had signs since last year, at 8 years old. We had to take her for a bone X-ray and that showed that her body is actually a body of an 11 year old. We’re expecting her period and usually this is not a big deal however my daughter is on the shorter side and her doctor is worried she won’t grow enough and has now recommended we see an endocrinologist as well. She’s 9, period hasn’t come yet but all the signs of puberty are there.

My daughter is going to be nine in a few weeks.I haven’t seem any hair but her boobs are starting to grow.she wears training bras(because she wants to).
There are a lot of things today in the food that we eat that affect how early this happens with kids.

Puberty usually starts around 8 years old for girls so while 7 is young I wouldn’t say it’s “way too young” and neither should her doctor
Personally I would let it go and let her body do what it wants naturally instead of messing with her hormones

My daughter had hypothyroidism and it caused her to develop very quickly and younger than normal. We managed to get hers under control with changing her diet and a multivitamin.
I was around 8/9 when I hit puberty and I got diagnosed with an under active thyroid (hypothyroidism) when I was 10 years old. I’m now 27 and still taking thyroid medicine but everything is ok. Good luck!

today girls hit puberty at a much earlier age than they did years ago.8or 9 is quite usual but they are very young to understand how it can affect them.
It’s called precocious puberty and kiddos to your pediatrician for that referral. My cousins daughter had pubes and underarm hair at six. The endo put her on meds for 2 years to stop her from getting her period. You and the dr will decide what’s best for her.

Today…many things can cause early puberty. Eating out a lot…food high in preservatives…over_use of melatonin can cause early puberty as well as bed wetting and other issues…These new vaccines…Never know what caused it but I’d try to put it off. Mine didnt start until 12,but when i was little we ate out about once a month and people werent giving their kids hormone drugs like melatonin all the time. We got benadryl or dimatap, which is safer to give for sleep issues in kids.
My aunt and my cousin started their periods at 9. I have a friend her daughter was 8. Her pediatrician was able to give her something to stop it and she started again at 12.
