What age would you be comfortable leaving your kids home alone?

Depends on the child’s maturity

11 yes , 9&6 not just yet x

If you feel comfortable doing it I don’t see why not. I left mine home when my oldest was 12 and my youngest was 7. They were mature and never got into trouble or any dangerous situations. In my state there is no she limit as long as they are mature enough to care for themselves there’s no legal age.

My son is 7 and I leave him at home sometimes

With child sex trafficking being what it is these days and pedophiles trying to normalize thier discustingness, i sure wouldnt. I wouldnt leave a child i was comfortable handling a gun, alone. But thats just me.

My purpose out here today is to share this article to the world about how Dr Aigbelimi spell caster the great wizard from Africa helped me in getting back my EX lover that broke up with me 2 years ago I tried all i could to make him see reasons with me that we can continue our relationship but he neglected and turn down my decision. Thank God for giving me the thought of going into the internet for help, i searched properly and i saw different reviews of Dr Aigbelimi spell caster and i insisted in giving it a try by contacting him via whatsApp on +2349066273005 He gave me reason to live again and he prepared a spell and told me that my Ex lover will come back to me within 24 hours. Can you believe it, my EX lover came back to me and you Contact him now!!! if you need any help whatsoever. Email: draigbelimiikhinespellcaster@gmail.com

If it was the 11 yr old by himself for a half hr I might be fine. But no matter how mature an 11 yr old is. They will not be able to protect everyone else there if something were to happen. I personally wouldn’t do it.

I took a babysitting course at 11. I was babysitting before that at 10. Maturity and understanding is everything. My brother wasn’t capable of being left alone for even 10 minutes until he was 13.

I’ll take them with me no matter what. Just think about it what if something happen to you like on an accident or car broke down etc. then it won’t be an hour run down. I never leave my kids coz you never know but that’s up to you. Better be safe than sorry

There is no law reguarding age in my state. I have had to move often with my job so my children to have become more maturethan most their age. I have a 13, 10 and 5 year old. We leave them to go run errands or go on the occasional date night. We never have family around and with this day in age, babysitters are a dime a dozen. Unlike when we were kids, babysitting was a regular thing at 10,11,12 years old. I think it really is all about maturity level and you actually teaching your children what to do in the “what if” situations. Having escape routes in case of fire, if someone comes to the door, if someone gets hurt. At the end of the day, you are the parent and you know what your child is capable of.

My parents would leave us girls at 10 home alone with our younger siblings for a whole day sometimes. We had a phone and dogs. 2 of us would have access to the guns in case of an emergency. Although we grew up in bfe and no one came over after dark. My younger siblings weren’t left alone even at 16 tho :joy:

Yes we did that with out daughter at 11. If we went for milk and she didn’t want to go.

I started babysitting at 11/12. I did first take a babysitting and cpr course!

I’m 45 and people think I should never be left alone. Ok, that’s not entirely true, but they do wonder when I’ill grow up.

Never the house would be a mesd

I was babysitting newborns and up from 12 on (neighbors). However times have changed. Check statutes and know the capacity of your child very well before giving such responsibility.

I started babysitting a baby by myself at 9 years old for an entire evening while her mom went out. Nothing bad ever happened. I personally tried leaving my sons with 2 12 year olds at 4and 6 and although nothing bad happened, I just wasn’t comfortable and wouldn’t do it again. Really depends on the maturity of the kid sitting. I was like 90 years old at 9, lol.

I could trust to leave my 9 year alone if it was legal here. :woman_shrugging: I always say it depends on the kid. But then some states have age requirements.

No! You don’t leave kids alone! This is a place anything, ANYTHING can happen! Your talking three young kids in a busy household! COME ON!!!

Here in NC there is no age restriction, except a child needs to be mature enough, would know how to make a call, lock doors, and is responsible. However a 13 yr old here can only babysit a toddler of age 2 for only 2 hrs. If u think your child is that mature, then u should be ok. Just set ground rules, make sure they have a way to contact u. And with all the cameras and stuff. U are good to go. I trusted my then 11 yr old home with her then 6 and 5 yr old sister while I had to get to the store. I also had to have my oldest later on when she was 13 to babysit while I worked 3rd shifts. However they were all already in bed. So there wasnt much I needed to worry about. I couldn’t afford daycare as a single mom and I dont trust anyone with my kids at all. So u do what makes u feel comfortable.

I was 12 before I got left home alone. You should take your 6 yr old with you if you decide to leave the others home.

My mum started leaving me home alone from 10 (I was very mature) and she would occasionally leave my younger siblings home with me if she had to pop down for a thing or 2 they would have been about 5 and 2 at the time

Depends for how long and how far you’re going away from the house. The biggest factor is each child is different cause you might can leave your 12 year old in the house but can’t leave your 16 year old :joy:

I wouldn’t leave a child till at least 15 or 16 alone

Neither they are to young anything could happen to you

With todays kids??? 35

Check your state laws first. That way you’ll know. My gf will leave her 11, 9 and 6 year olds home for a bit. I never left mine, but my youngest was terrified for me to even run to the convenience store right quick

Hopefully this isn’t some kind of pedophile trying to figure out who leaves their kids home alone.
