What are some things you wish you knew about giving birth?

Expecting my second baby in December and working on my hospital birth plan. What are some things that you wish you knew or had done differently with yours?

Move around. Or sit up with your legs crossed yoga style. It help with the pain and hurries things along. I stayed down with my first. And with my second I either stood up and rocked my hips or sat cross legged my labor the second time was easier and shorter

To stay home to birth and move around during labor.

I had 3 children. I am a huge chicken when it comes to pain. I had my 3rd child naturally since I had terrible things happen with a spinal for my 1st, and an epidermal for the 2nd…
It really was the best overall. The pain wasn’t something that felt impossible to deal with and the recovery was so much better

All natural was the way to go with my first. Got to the hospital 9cm ready to push thru just needed to break my water. Had twins via C-section the 2nd time and it was a much harder healing!

I wish I knew that I could’ve spoken up and had more control. I was 22 and naive and I thought I had to do what they said when they said and I had a very horrible birthing experience. ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF!!! If you are unhappy or uncomfortable say it loud and proud until they listen. You know your body, the doctors/nurses do not
