What are the side effects of Nexplanon?

Hello, I have 2 questions…

Has anyone gained weight from nexplanon, if so how long did it take to loose? I’ve been on it 6 years.

My second question has anyone had Paragard, if so can you tell me more about it?

I had nexplanon for over two years and gained so much weight. I tried dieting and eating healthier but never lost the weight. I got it removed and began losing weight.

I’ve gained maybe 20 pounds. It’s because the hormones in nexplanon makes your body thinks it’s pregnant so you eat more.

I had it for 6 years my first go around and it actually made me lose weight, have crap appetite, no periods and etc. This time is my third insertion, granted i just had a child, but i restarted my period when i got it and bled for a month and i do feel like my belly is puffy now but no real weight measurements to confirm. I’m hoping it works itself out bc its the only one that has worked thus far

I had the paragard for 10 years. Never had any problems or complications. Its hormone free therefore it doesn’t change your cycle or cause you to gain weight. I had mine taken out because I was ready to have another baby. I got prgnant immediately. It wasn’t painful for to to get it inserted or removed. I had my youngest 7 months ago. I had another paragard put in at my 8 week check up. And again everything is great with it. I highly recommend it. My body doesn’t reaond well to artificial horemones, so this works perfectly. It also last 10 years.
