What are the signs of pre-eclampsia?

Questions regarding preeclampsia and pregnancy.

Did anyone have preeclampsia or have it?
Was your blood pressure low or high??
My blood pressure has been on the shallow side (it was 101/49) they have been watching me for preeclampsia since I was 20wks along in this pregnancy from the swelling & the protein in my urine. But my blood pressure has been low a lot recently & it’s not healthy for me to have low blood pressure, so I’m wondering if it all goes together somehow or what.

I had it with both my sons, blood pressure was always high. I was told it’s more about protein in the urine and swelling… So yes it all goes hand in hand. I always thought you had to have high blood pressure but guess mainly the protein at least that’s what I was told the last time.

I had post Partum preeclampsia my blood pressure was high, I had protein in my urine, and swelling. Because I had went untreated for it and we didn’t know I had it my body had started retaining fluids and my lungs started to fill up. They definitely all go together and you should definitely share your concern with your doctor so that they can treat it properly.

With preeclampsia your BP will be on the higher side. It causes your placenta to age prematurely and not provide essentials to baby. You can spill protein in your urine which is a sign that your kidneys are not functioning like they should. The swelling has to do with your kidneys not working correctly. Generally not a lasting preeclampsia is not a lasting condition. I learned all of this from.doing as much research as I could when I had it with my son. I’m currently 36 weeks pregnant with my second and everything has went perfect this time around. My doctor keeps laughing because she knows I’m waiting for the bottom to drop out and everything go crazy.

My blood pressure was always really high. Like 130s/90s. If it got to be 140 or above I had to go to the hospital

I was swollen like a bloated corpse and had high blood pressure.

I had preeclampsia with both of my babies, i was induced st 38 weeks with both. Blood pressure was high, and they noticed because of my urine first.

With my daughter my BP was normal until 36 weeks, it had spiked to 190/110 and I was positive for protein in my urine so they induced me, kept me in the hospital for a week with BP checks every 30 minutes, cuffs on both arms to offset each other, and was given labatelol to manage my BP once I got home.

For my son I had high BP the entire pregnancy, twice daily BP checks, daily baby aspirin, and intermittent bed rest. Only ever had trace proteins, though, never developed pre-eclampsia.

My bp got higher the further I got. I wasn’t declared preeclamptic until I got there to have my kid.

I just spent 3 weeks on a parenatal unit in dallas, and a week in the hospital having baby. My blood pressure started to spike at 34 weeks along with the protein in my urine. I was put on a mag drip and life flighted to the hospital in dallas. They put me on labetalol to maintain my pressure amd strict bed rest. Was enduced at 37 weeks. Mine got worse at delivery and was put back on mag for 3 days. Baby is 10 days old and I’m still on meds but it gets better every day. The only advice I have is dont panic until your doctor worries. I drove myself crazy googling and preparing for the worst case scenarios to the point I developed sensory anxiety.
