My son went from eating everything to eating 5 things only. He’s been constipated for 2 months now and won’t eat anything new no matter what it is (fruits are ok). I might be able to sneak in meat or some veggies if I hide them under rice but if he sees a little bit showing, he won’t eat it. I’ve tried letting him get very hungry but he would throw a tantrum and won’t eat. He gets snacks once a day and it’s just a handful. He will be 2 in March. What should I do? Do I go back to finger foods?
Give white grape juice for constipation. At that age kiddos really don’t eat much of anything until they hit a growth spurt. Literally just a bite here and there.
I would give him some Miralax for constipation,
If he has been constipated for that long maybe get that resolved first. Being constipated will cause discomfort and will make it hard to want to eat. And figure out why he is getting constipated. I have a son who deals with constipation it has even landed him in the hospital.
Fed is best. He will come around. Two is a very appropriate age to have new sensory issues develop. Please make an appointment with your ped to discuss things.
Has he had another other behavioral changes? I’d give him what he eats now, but take him to the doctor. There could be some sensory issues.
