Hello! Have any mama’s been prescribed Zoloft for PPD and experienced insanely low sex drive?
I feel awful for constantly turning my husband down, and I also just feel awful for not even wanting to have sex anymore.
I told my doctor about it and she said “well that’s just something that comes along with antidepressants” but I’m not super happy with that answer. Has anyone else had any success from switching from Zoloft to something else and experienced a change in their sex drive?

I had - 10 sex drive it also gave me vivid night mares and suicidal dreams.
I didn’t have PPD, but do have depression. I had the same thing happen when prescribed Zoloft. My provider switched me to a different med. I’ve tried multiple. And have had success. There are many more options.
I was on 50 mg I had no sex drive it comes with not only the meds but the depression as well
Ive been on Zoloft since I was 20 weeks pregnant. No change in my drive whatsoever. Hope you get to the bottom of it.
I hated Zoloft it numbed all my emotions and made me feel like a zombie. On Prozac now. I don’t have a desire to do anything after a narcissistic break up lol.
I was on zoloft for ppd and it definitely made my sex drive go down so they put me on Wellbutrin it worked better. Just have to find something that works for yu!
It’s a combination of the medicine, the PPD, and hormonal changes from just having a baby. MOST women experience lower sex drive after just having a baby, even without PPD or meds.
I was horrible on that stuff.
I didn’t have PPD but I’ve been on Zoloft 200mg per day, for years now. I noticed a change in my sex drive at first until I started also taking Buspar and everything seemed to go back to normal. Each medication effects us all differently. You could just need a different medication or combination.

YES!!! My doctor then combined it with Wellbutrin and it was fixed

Wellbutrin was much better than Zoloft , I had the same complaint
Thats fucking horseshit I can’t believe she told you that. My guy was experiencing an inability to ejaculate and they immediately switched him to wellbutrin. I would switch doctors for treating your needs that way that is absolutely not okay. A healthy sex life is as important to your overall health as everything else.
It comes with the medication. Pretty much all anti depressants do that.

I did. My doctor lowered the dose and added another low dose anti-depressant and it got much better.
Yes the zoloft will lower your sex drive.
I’m on Zoloft and I guess that could be a side effect. I never really thought about it but yea, the desire kinda goes away lol.
Antidepressants ruined my sex drive. It’s a known side effect
After I had my daughter I had severe ppd and had been on multiple depression meds and none of them improved my sec drive still to this day almost 6 years later we still struggle with it.
Seizures, slapping my face, twisting and shaking, headaches. Now, I have forever N.E.B.Spells. No fun! 3 days shy of a month taking it. All the above happened, the primary doctor was acting like it wasn’t the medication. Took one amazing doctor a neurologist to point at the fine print, which I had all ready read in the past and agreed with me. It’s been 6 yrs and I have as I would call them “after shocks”. Please push your concerns, maybe get counseling, it help me going in that direction. But still you need a listening primary doctor too, good family/friend support. Remember your not alone. Hugs
