What causes c-section scar pain?

I delivered my son by C-section over 3 years ago. The sight has always either been sensitive or hurt but only for a day or two (is that normal?) For the last month I’ve had nonstop pain there and I just found out I’m pregnant. Anyone out there who has experienced anything similar?

I’m definitely more sensitive in that area. And I knew I was pregnant this last time (number 3) because where the scar is hurt when I sneezed. Thats the reason i tooke a test! I guess its stretching! :woman_shrugging:t4:

My first c-section was almost 19 years ago second 8 years ago. I still get discomfort from time to time. A few times since I’ve had almost like a tearing sensation when doing a crunch type motion. Figured it was internal scar tissue building up and breaking loose. If I sneeze or cough extra hard it can feel tender. Have been told by Dr’s it normal.

Yes ive had 3 and it’s still sensitive

I had my son 4 years ago via c section. It healed well in appearance but I’m 5 months pregnant and it hurts alot. Just your body stretching as most of these ladies have said.

All that sounds normal for pregnancies after a csection.

Yes my for my mom it has been nearly 30 years and even now when she lays againts something, she says it’s uncomfortable. I think It’s because scar tissue is never the same. I had a surgery near my tailbone(clearly not the same as a c-section) but that scar forever hurts if i sit the wrong way or put too much body weight on it. It’s been 5 years now. So i think it makes sense for yours to be uncomfortable even more so now with another pregnancy on the way

Nope and I have had three c-sections. If you are worried go get checked out doesn’t hurt.

Mine is sensitive! But it’s numb if that makes since! Like if I touch it I can’t feel that I’m touching it🤷‍♀️ It hurts around it!

It’s a scar, that’s extremely normal. Not to frighten but there’s probably some nerve damage and that’s why it’s painful

I have had 4 and mine never hurt during pregnancy. I would have been very concerned if it had.
